I think Mark Penn might have been hired on McCain's campaign here. These calls are micro-targeting, throwing enough garbage out there that one of these calls will hit home with you. Also McCain's "Joe the Plumber" gimmick and "Small Business" push screams micro-targeting in that it doesn't hurt you in the eyes of others, but all those targeted feel that you're talking to them and are more engaged. Also Palin is giving a speech about "Children with Special Needs" - now given Trig is a mere 6 months old, there wouldn't be much difference in caring for Trig as any other baby, but Palin is putting herself out there as a spokesperson for the issue. Again, micro-targeting, it really engages parents of children with special needs, while not hurting you with other supporters.

Back when Hillary was pounding Obama with slimey attacks we all said, "God, I wish this would end now, I can't take any more." But now we all agree she (unintentionally) helped him in the long run, getting all the shit out of the way early.

Now, with McCain pounding Obama with more & more slimey attacks, we all keep saying, "God, I wish this would end now, I can't take any more."

But you know what? Just as Hillary's dragging out the primary race proved to help Barack, I'm starting to think this miserable race we're all wishing would hurry up and end may also prove to be a good thing. Because the way this appears to be going, with a week and a half to go, the tide for Barack is getting heavier. And not only can that provide him with a landslide (i.e. the ever-loving "mandate" we want him to have) but it may also help the Dems in the Senate & House races. This final week+ might be the difference beteen a good Dem majority and a great Dem majority.

I could be wrong. But maybe all the suffering we're going through will really be worth it. Just as it ultimately was during the primaries.

on november 5, i'm going to share with john mccain, via email, what i think of him. but that's not all. i'm going to share with him what i USED to think of him. i'm going to explain why what i feel has changed. i'm going to explain what a terrible person he is. i'm going to ask what it's like not to have a conscience or a soul or any principles.

on inauguration day, i'll let him know that he's dead to me, as well as to most others in the world, and that he is now officially a footnote in history. and that footnote will read that he never measured up to his father or his grandfather. that he ran the worst campaign in history. that he lost to man that most thought would never even get the nomination. that his legacy will be one of bitterness and hate and division and shame. there is nothing left of anything positive he ever did. that he has disgraced his service and his country, that his time as a POW means NOTHING. that i hope it hurts him until his last breath, knowing that his legacy is one of FAILURE.

i know he'll likely never see any of them. but perhaps god will smile on the intertubez, and somehow ... just somehow ... he'll see one.

Seems like Obama has a pretty loose website donation policy (link on the main page). I wonder if it was the case because they woman donating with fake name was donating under $50.00 and therefore could have done so anonymously anyways, so the obviously fake name is seen as an effort to be anonymous.

It doesn't matter what McCain's robocalls say. He's lost his credibility, so whether he speaks the truth or not...don't mattah.
