Conservative Group To Run Anti-Wright Ads On National Networks Through Election Day
Get ready for a deluge of Wright rantings.
The National Republican Trust PAC, which has been airing an ad attacking Barack Obama's association with Reverend Wright in three battleground states, has now put down for a national buy on five networks that will last from now through election day, a consultant with the group confirms to me.
The ad will run nationally on Fox, CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC for the next five days, the consultant, Rick Wilson, says -- "all the way until election day."
The ad, which you can watch here, features the now-infamous footage of Wright's livelier sermons, and intones that Obama "never complained" about Wright "until he ran for President," adding that Obama is "too radical, too risky."
Previously, the ad was only running in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida, as Ben Smith reported the other day.
Now, however, the ad will run nationally, Wilson says, adding that the group just got through getting the spot vetted with network lawyers and is good to go.
Late Update: Wilson tells me that the PAC will have spent $2 million on this national buy by the end of tomorrow.

I didn't expect anything less.

And what does this say about John McCain. It screams to me that he is not a man of honor, but a fraud. A man that is willing to sink to the lows that were used against him when he ran against the current Bush.
I remember so clearly him stating that he would not use Wright, and that he wanted to run a clean and honorable campaign. I guess all his morals left the rooms when he aids told him we aren't the one's running the aid-- it’s from a PAC.
He wanted Sen. Obama to denounce those things that were disgusting and deliberately deceitful, yet he is willing to allow these types of aids to run with out speaking out against them loud and clear.
Sen. McCain this is a time when you can step up to the plate and forcefully condemn these aids and the types or racist and divisive undertones that have been on display in your campaign during the last months of this campaign. It’s your move… man with honor.

The McCain campaign itself is not running this ad. It's a Political Action Committee (otherwise known as a 527 group) that isn't directly associated with McCain but does have an interest in seeing his opponent lose. It's the same type of group that ran the Swiftboat ads against Kerry four years ago.
This came up during the primaries and did some damage to Obama, although he managed to overcome it in the end. Will he be able to do so this time, especially since he's running against the party associated with American pride and toughness on defense and national security?

GW's advice worked.
It kept the economy alive - that is until the DEMOCRATS defended FANNIE MAE's and FREDDIE MAC's accounting practices and of bullying lenders (with the help, of ACORN, I might add) into making risky loans to UNQUALIFIED individuals.
Republicans warned about the impending crisis as the Democrats kissed Mae & Mac's butts! The top three U.S. senators getting big Fannie and Freddie political bucks (ahem - bribes) were Democrats and No. 2 is Sen. Barack Obama. in spite of only being in the Senate for a very short time.
OH, by the way, that makes Obama and Pelosi BOTH LIARS when they say George Bush's policies are responsible for the current state of the economy.

The fact is that Sen. Obama lied about it. Who gives a rat's behind if he attended this church? Who gives a flip if he gave $27,000 to the ministry.
I just care about the lie he spoke in saying he did not know the pastor's philosophy. Him saying that is an insult to the collective intelligence of the American people.
How can you tell Obama is lying? His lips will be moving!

Hillary wouldn't dare run an anti-Obama ad with Rev. Wright when both her and her husband were pals with the guy. A point that the MSM did not report on at all.
But those like me here remember the circulated internet images of Wright and Bill Clinton and Wright sitting with Hillary Clinton.
I don't doubt for a minute that Rev. Wright was a secret Clinton ploy dropped originally from the news source they had close connections with. The Rev. Wright story originally broke by ABC News more than a year ago with George Stephanopoulos who was a former Clinton White House press secretary. Stephanopoulous got his day at the ABC democratic primary debate this year when he asked Obama "Who loves America more, you or Rev. Wright?".

In fact, it gave me a whole new perspective to the election. If, indeed, attacks of any kind can win an election, let alone a very important election, then there really is nothing left to do but to laugh at the farce.
Who was it that said that our only weapon against fear and hate is laughter? The way to rid ourselves of those who keep wielding these zero sum tactics is to laugh them off of the stage. When we allow them to anger us, to cower us, we grant them power.
I've personally recognized the need for transformation in my own life several times by seeing myself as ludicrous and having a good laugh. While undertaking the arduous task of reorganizing my life, it has been laughter that provides the energy.

The Wright story broke a week after the Ohio and Texas primaries - roughly 7 weeks before the PA primary. At the time the story broke, Obama was more than 20 pts behind Clinton in PA. He finished less than 10 pts behind her. From there he went on to finish ahead of her Guam, North Carolina, Oregon and Montana, just as everyone had predicted he would months before the Wright story broke. She went on to finish ahead of him in Indiana (albeit only just), West Virginia, Kentucky, Puerto Rico and South Dakota. Of those, the only unexpected result was South Dakota, but by the same token she was never able to make good on her promise that North Carolina would be an upset, despite the circulation of the Wright story.
So, where exactly is the evidence that the Wright story made a difference? Are we to understand that, despite the fact that everyone, starting months before the Wright story broke, predicted Clinton to win PA handily, had it not been for the Wright story Obama would have upset Clinton there? I think that the importance of Jeremiah Wright has been greatly exaggerated.

Good point. So let them waste more time and money on this garbage. Apparently, they believe the "culture wars" can still win them the election despite the 2006 congressional races and all the polls.

Well, I'll one up your Wright thesis and claim that the effect of the bin Laden tape in 2004 was exaggerated as well.

I think it had an effect. The thing is that the effect was short term. That is why I did not expect this line of attack sooner. The Republicans are banking on a short term bounce in the polls to last just until the election.
The problem is that everyone saw this coming and its old news. The effect, if any, will be minimal. I also assume that Obama has a counter attack ad (Hagee?) all queued up and ready to go if need be.

Gosh, one would be hard pressed to find evidence of it if it did. About the same time that the Wright story broke, Quinnipiac had Clinton up by 12 pts in PA. When they released their next poll two weeks later, they had Clinton up by only 9 pts. Similarly, a Rasmussen poll of PA democrats showed Clinton up by 13 a week before the Wright story broke, but only up by 10 a week after Wright hit the headlines. Even in the short term, in other words, Obama's numbers held strong. It seems to me that the evidence would suggest that the only folks who were put-off by the Wright tapes were folks who were already sour on Obama to begin with (the Matthew Weavers of the world).

But the polls you're referring to were of Democratic voters, correct? Now we're talking about an election pretty much riding on independents and low info voters who may never before have heard of Rev. Wright, or weren't paying much attention when they did. The anti-American theme has been well prepped by the GOP by now, and Wright fits right into that, almost as the clincher "argument". What's more, Obama turned around the last Rev. Wright assault in part by giving his famous race speech, which completely wowed the MSM. There's no time for him to do that again. Finally, in the end he did lose PA to Hillary, and if he drops five or six points between now and Tues. he might well lose it again. (Gov. Rendell thinks Obama really has only about a six point lead now and has been appealing to him to return to the state.) BTW, who says Obama might not have won PA had no the Wright scandal broke? Curious as to your response?

The contrast between it (and make no mistake, it's an implicit/complicit McCain ad) and Obama's positive, uplifting message of reconciliation and purpose last night is yet one more reason why this election feels so apocalyptic to me.

Your VP candidate's husband Todd Palin is a domestic terrorist in the Alaskan Independence Party.
You have given $500,000 to PLO, a group that McCain himself says are terrorists.
You have met with Chilean Dictator Pinochet, a terrorist.
Your using FOX NEWS, the Bush Administration, The Justice Department to commit voter intimidation & suppression is a act of terrorism. DISGRACEFUL.

Even Rev Wright has been more vetted than Sarah Palin....He fought honorably in the same war that McCain was POW in. There is a picture online of him perfoming surgically to President Johnson. He has attended White House Functions. He just never got completely over his 60's anger and pain.
If we think we're seeing sick racism now perputrated toward Barack (some of us see it), just imagine what it had to have been like in the 60's for Wright.
Instead of being treated like the war hero that he was, as McCain has been treated, he was treated with the same (and actually 1000 times worst) as what racial predjudiceness is today...In those days it was done in your face with no protectors, not just on a blog or via rally noise.

Uh... no... the liberal mainstream media sent cadres of their minions to Alaska to dig up dirt within hours of the announcement she would be John McCains running mate. Don't you read the news? I know you can type the words for the blog, but do you really understand what they mean?
Aaanywaaay... they dug up that she likes to hunt... Oh... BTW...PETA has be strangely silent about this. I wonder if they think Barack's support of infanticide trumps the hunting of moose?
Oh, and then there's - drumroll please - Troopergate. Only thing is, she was completely within her EXECUTIVE priveledge - not that you supporters or Barack Obama for that matter really know anything about Executive Priveledge - to fire the supervisor. You see he was excercising insubordination. She needed to get tough, and she did.
Oh and then there is the pregnant daughter. Sigh. Strange, Bristol Palin and her boyfried do not feel that they are being "punished by a baby." Welcoming this beautiful life into the world and sticking together as a family. Hmmmmm...Barack Obama would rather kill his grandchild than have his daughters "punished by a baby." What's up is down and what's down is up in ObamaWorld. Where is the puke bag - QUICK!
Oh, crap...Then there is the thing about Alaskan independence...Dang...We wanted to seceed from the nation when I was growing up in the Florida Keys, too. The Conch Republic! Wee Hooo...
Duh... we were trying to make a point, not draw a border. You see, some stupid Democrat wanted to charge a toll on the 18-mile stretch leading into the Keys. They were the Johnny-Come-Latelys that did not want it to be cheap for visitors to enter their newly found paradise. Selfish bastards. But then this is akin to Barack's plan for the economy. You see, in those days, a toll on the stretch in the 70's would have killed tourism and the very fabric of the Keys' economy.
Then there is this "defective" kid of theirs (Michelle probably would have aborted.) Surely there was some news in that situation. They wanted to believe that the kid was Bristol's. Well then...that twin of Trig's is sure taking his or her time in making an entrance to the world! Get a grip, people!
Sarah Palin has been viciously attacked by you dip wads and the mainstream media. Relentlessly.
So, don't cry for me, Argentina, move to Venezuela already.

I ask anti-Wright people sometimes to give examples of how Wright is racist, which is often their claim. They never respond. It seems as though the common assumption now is that he must be racist because he's angry or because people don't know what black liberation theology is. It's absurdly tiresome to see this degenerate into the common sentiment. People would rather assume it's all race hatred rather than even read up on black liberation theology. There's reasons someone can be upset with Wright or cautious towards him but accusations of racism ore false, lazy, and naive.

Obama and his campaign are terrified of this fact and so is the Mainstream Media. Why? Well, they realize that if Americans knew that Barrack Hussein Obama had Muslim upbringing of any kind that they would be less inclined to vote for him. Unless they looked at America as evil and Islamic terrorists as victims and saw electing a President with a Muslim background as an 'apology' and/or appeasement to the Muslim world. A way of saying 'We-re sorry for supporting Israels all these years' and 'Please don't bomb us or try to kill us - we're afraid of you. Please like us, please.'
Complete and irrefutable proof is at http://www.obamaspast.com/popups_facts/indonesia.html
At the time, January of 1968, Obama was known as Barry Soetoro. His mother was remarried by then to Lolo Soetoro who became Barry's step-father and adoptive father. Lolo was a devout Muslim and so was Obama's mother who had gone from Ann Dunham to Ann Soetoro. The word for religion in Indonesian is 'agama.' Item 4 on this registration document for Barry Soetoro is clearly written as bIslam.b There are no records of Obama ever having been a Christian or practiced Christrianity until 1988 when he was 27 and joined the Trinity Chuch of God, led by Jerimiah Wright. A church, by the way, that gave a Lifetime Achievement award to Louis Farrakan, the founder and leader of the Nation of Islam.

I know he will just shrug and put on a silly grin when he is questioned about this and will just say he has no control over these private ads. Just as he does when Palin or some other member of his campaign does something low. I found it interesting that Obama put on a half hour ad and never mentioned McCain, but McCain can't go two sentences without telling us what a horrible person Obama is. That's what we have to make sure we are praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan.

And yes, Obama bought into and fully committed himself to this radically negative – some might say false - gospel. Twenty years, $27,000 invested in Wrights church. Then Obama LIES about not knowing the Theology of Black Liberation that was being taught and is a very narrow view of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ:
James Cone, a prominent Black Liberation Theologian, believed that the New Testament revealed Jesus as one who identified with those suffering under oppression, the socially marginalized and the cultural outcasts. And since the socially constructed categories of race in America (i.e., whiteness and blackness) had come to culturally signify dominance (whiteness) and oppression (blackness), from a theological perspective, Cone argued that Jesus reveals himself as black in order to disrupt and dismantle white oppression.
He also said that Martin Luther King's Theology did not focus enough on his "blackness." The Bible teaches that there is no respecter of persons with God: "For there is no respect of persons with God," Paul declared (Rom. 2: 11). The Scriptures emphasize repeatedly that God is not judging or treating man, any man, with respect of persons. In other words, God is just and equitable in his dealings with man. i.e. - God does not see color.
What the Bible teaches is that though God is sovereign; man still has real responsibility and freedom in the choices he makes. This was another one of the tenets of Martin Luther’s King’s teachings. And it is MLK’s teaching of this that began to turn the mindset of black and white alike. White people had the responsibility to respect people without regard to color. And black people should practice self-respect and self responsibility.
I don't question that there is a history of oppression in this country. I am a repentant white person. But in a country where opportunity abounds, Wright continues to teach a theology of victimization instead of the freedom that comes from self responsibility. He teaches a gospel that would continue the division between black and white into perpetuity if he has his way. His way; not God’s way.
Because he is keeping his flock in a mindset of victimization, the fruit that is born of his teaching is one of entitlement. THAT is Obama's platform. He learned it from Wright. Then he LIED saying he did not know Wright's theology.

Who better to explain this concept than a black man...Just came into my mailbox. Has already been vetted by Snopes
Why I (A Black Man) Can't Vote For Obama
I wanted to send this article from Huntley Brown - he is a fabulous concert pianist, man of God and is a black man. We met him years ago when we were doing a T.V. program in Chicago and we have stayed connected through the years. I appreciate so much his reasoning for not voting for Obama. I would like to see this article published or spread out via Email to as many as possible. It's good stuff!
Why I Can't Vote For Obama By Huntley Brown
Dear Friends,
A few months ago I was asked for my perspective on Obama, I sent out an email with a few points. With the election just around the corner I decided to complete my perspective. Those of you on my e-list have seen some of this before but it's worth repeating...
First I must say whoever wins the election will have my prayer support. Obama needs to be commended for his accomplishments but I need to explain why I will not be voting for him.
Many of my friends process their identity through their blackness. I process my identity through Christ. Being a Christian (a Christ follower) means He leads I follow. I can't dictate the terms He does because He is the leader.
I can't vote black because I am black; I have to vote Christian because that's who I am. Christian first, black second. Neither should anyone from the other ethnic groups vote because of ethnicity. 200 years from now I won't be asked if I was black or white. I will be asked if I knew Jesus and accepted Him as Lord and Savior.
In an election there are many issues to consider but when a society gets abortion, same-sex marriage, embryonic stem-cell research, human cloning to name a few, wrong, economic concerns will soon not matter.
We need to follow Martin Luther King's words, don't judge someone by the color of his skin but by the content of their character. I don't know Obama so all I can go off is his voting record. His voting record earned him the title of the most liberal senator in the US Senate in 2007.
NATIONAL JOURNAL: Obama: Most Liberal Senator in 2007 (01/31/2008)
To beat Ted Kennedy and Hilary Clinton as the most liberal senator, takes some doing. Obama accomplished this feat in 2 short years. I wonder what would happen to America if he had four years to work with.
There is a reason Planned Parenthood gives him a 100 % rating.
There is a reason the homosexual community supports him.
There is a reason Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Castro, Hamas etc. love him.
There is a reason he said he would nominate liberal judges to the Supreme Court.
There is a reason he voted against the infanticide bill.
There is a reason he voted No on the constitutional ban of same-sex marriage.
There is a reason he voted No on banning partial birth abortion.
There is a reason he voted No on confirming Justices Roberts and Alito. These two judges are conservatives and they have since overturned partial birth abortion. The same practice Obama wanted to continue.
Letsʼ take a look at the practice he wanted to continue
The 5 Step Partial Birth Abortion procedures:
A. Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby's leg with forceps. (Remember this is a live baby)
B. The baby's leg is pulled out into the birth canal .
C. The abortionist delivers the baby's entire body, except for the head.
D. The abortionist jams scissors into the baby's skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole.
E. The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child's brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.
God help him.
There is a reason Obama opposed the parental notification law.
Think about this: You can't give a kid an aspirin without parental notification but that same kid can have an abortion without parental notification. This is insane.
There is a reason he went to Jeremiah Wright's church for 20 years.
Obama tells us he has good judgment but he sat under Jeremiah Wright teaching for 20 years. Now he is condemning Wright's sermons. I wonder why now?
Obama said Jeremiah Wright led him to the Lord and discipled him. A disciple is one in training. Jesus told us in Matthew 28:19 - 20 "Go and make disciples of all nations." This means reproduce yourself. Teach people to think like you, walk like you; talk like you believe what you believe etc. The question I have is what did Jeremiah Wright teach him?
Would you support a White President who went to a church which has tenets that said they have a
1. Commitment to the White Community
2. Commitment to the White Family
3. Adherence to the White Work Ethic
4. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White Community.
5. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting White Institutions
6. Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System
7. Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System.
Would you support a President who went to a church like that?
Just change the word from white to black and you have the tenets of Obama's former church. If President Bush was a member of a church like this, he would be called a racist. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton would have been marching outside.
This kind of church is a racist church. Obama did not wake up after 20 years and just discovered he went to a racist church. The church can't be about race. Jesus did not come for any particular race. He came for the whole world.
A church can't have a value system based on race. The churches value system has to be based on biblical mandate. It does not matter if itsʼ a white church or a black church it's still wrong. Anyone from either race that attends a church like this would never get my vote.
Obama's former Pastor Jeremiah Wright is a disciple of liberal theologian James Cone, author of the 1970 book A Black Theology of Liberation. Cone once wrote: "Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him."
Cone is the man Obama's mentor looks up to. Does Obama believe this?
So what does all this mean for the nation?
In the past when the Lord brought someone with the beliefs of Obama to lead a nation it meant one thing - judgment.
Read 1 Samuel 8 when Israel asked for a king. First God says in 1 Samuel 1:9 "Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do."
Then God says
1 Samuel 1:18 " When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day." 19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. "No!" they said. "We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles." 21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the LORD. 22 The LORD answered, "Listen to them and give them a king."
Here is what we know for sure.
God is not schizophrenic
He would not tell one person to vote for Obama and one to vote for McCain. As the scripture says, a city divided against itself cannot stand, so obviously many people are not hearing from God.
Maybe I am the one not hearing but I know God does not change and Obama contradicts many things I read in scripture so I doubt it.
For all my friends who are voting for Obama can you really look God in the face and say; Father based on your Word, I am voting for Obama even though I know he will continue the genocidal practice of partial birth abortion. He might have to nominate three or four Supreme Court justices, and I am sure he will be nominating liberal judges who will be making laws that are against You. I also know he will continue to push for homosexual rights, even though you destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for this. I know I can look the other way because of the economy.
I could not see Jesus agreeing with many of Obama's positions. Finally I have two questions for all my liberal friends.
Since we know someone's value system has to be placed on the nation,
1. Whose value system should be placed on the nation.
2. Who should determine that this is the right value system for the nation?
Blessings,
Huntley Brown
