National Republicans are feeling very frustrated with Bachmann right now, worried that her public buffoonery could end up costing them a seat that they barely had to worry at all about even one week ago.

I rather imagine that local Repugs are very frustrated with her as well - like, Norm Coleman, who is in a hell of a fight for his seat.

I just read Maureen Dowd's editorial on Colin Powell's endorsement of Obama. It seems the nutters are after Powell now.

Significant to the story and Powell's endorsement is the picture of the young soldier's mother at his grave at the New Yorker. Very compelling. You can see why Powell stared at the photo for over an hour.

Okay, I have a favor to ask. I am in CA, and we now have gay marriage as legal. Some wing nuts got enough signatures to get an amendment added to the constitution banning gay marriage if voting passes Prop. 8. We need lots of NO votes on this to stop this insanity. Even Arnold is against amending the constitution. I would not be posting but this was a slam dunk to defeat and now it is getting really close. So could anyone from CA help spread the word to vote NO on this? BTW, I am straight as can be, but damn, I am sick of this moral crap on our ballots. Thanks for letting me rant too.

Obama's race, name and background, rather than being liabilities, have turned into assets in this way: The prospect of him winning is having the salutary effect of driving the wingnuts absolutely bonkers, leading them to expose their true colors (so to speak) with their Bachmann-like rants (real America, real Virginia, liberals hate America, etc.). Thus they are driving away any independents and Republicans who have a sense of decency.

This is a woman who, finding herself in a hole, doesn't just look for a bigger shovel. She finds herself a backhoe.

I like watching Bachmann chew her leg off to get out of this, and applaud her ability to keep the frozen smile plastered on all the while.

Bachmann is a crazy right wing woman of the same flavor as Ann Coulter, Sarah Palin, and Michelle Malkin. She knew full well what she was being asked, and she expounded on it. The only trap there was her own mouth; she ate foot, and has no one to blame but herself.

Matthews did bait her, but only because she invited it. Anybody with more than two brain cells could see where he was going. Her mistake was losing her cool enough to let her real opinions come out.

Obama’s nomination has made our country a complete mess and an embarrassment for the world to view.

Obama and his team of supporters have reared the ugly head of sexism and racism, criticized our country to the world and have been a complete embarrassed with voter fraud and the entire voting process.

Many in my community have never seen such bias in reporting, if you want to call it that. It is an embarrassing time to be an American.

The media should be emphasizing the importance of a man with good character, not defend a man that has associations with far left, anti American radical leaders and the like.

Souder stepped forward at a GOP news conference two days ago about Michelle Bachman's statements on Matthews show and supported Bachman by declaring:

"Chris Matthews tried to trick her into that question, over and over for the entire interview. Unfortunately, her last comment, she fell for the trap." He then proceeded to warn that "Senator Obama should be careful who he pals around with." This is "Watch what you say; Watch what you do" all over again.
