DNC Ad: McCain Parrots Bush On The Economy

The DNC is stepping up its attacks on John McCain as being more of the same in a pretty clever way: Their new ad in Michigan shows McCain and Bush saying essentially the exact same thing about how well the economy is going:

"It sounds like a broken record," the announcer says, "because it is."

I want to see more of these... just whack away!!!

Sorry might as well use this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jnn5vm6X6Y4

This is a damn good ad! Devastating, substantive attack. Hell yes!

Simple and lucid ...great ad

Totally agree. And they need to start tying Palin to Bush. They're one in the same. More, please.

Sarah Palin = Bush 2.0

Here we go again!

Another "reformer with results" country governor who masks extreme rightwing views and total incompetence with folksiness and platitudes about being "compassionate".

Just another pretty face on the ugly policies of environmental destruction, more subsidies for Big Oil, more wars and hatred abroad, and more partisan warfare and religious extremism at home.

it's a strong ad. i like it.

Does anyone else feel like anytime Obama is just going to pull away and close these fools out?

It's like in sports, you know the other team is going to pull out all the stops and play really well, but you know, in the 4th quarter, they don't have it.

The republicans have used all their ammunition. We still have everything on Palin, we haven't even got to that yet. What do the republicans have left that they haven't used yet?

If it were baseball, the republicans would be looking to the bullpen and no one warming up for this one! They've all been overused!

Sarah Palin is George Bush - with less experience.

The syncing of their voices with the GOP approved talking points is gold. Well done. Hope this gets played on TV and doesn't rely on the media playing it on their own or voters going to the DNC web site...

Good mourning America. You all need to mark and listen to Alaska's progressive radio , KUDO 1080 am. They are three hours behind eastern time. Listen while you read , really great info..!!

Palin is disaster wating to happen. When the National Enquirer sinks its nasty teeth in you look out. She will be made a prody, constant distraction and do the one thing McInsane cannot afford make the election about his ticket and not Obama. If Obama becomes the generic dem the Republicans lose. So let Palin take spot in the limelight, milk it for all its worth and overshadow everyone including the top of ticket.

As stupid as it sounds, I think they need to connect the dots with these ads and simply say that these policies are hurting working class Americans.

user-pic

I kinda think working-class Americans already know that.

That is a great Ad!!!!

This is a damn good ad. It should be a national buy, or at least targeted to all of the swing states.

I love it, keep it up all day long.

Nice. I think we also need to show Palin that this campaign is not in Alaska. She's used to Ted Stevens politics.

Welcome to the big show.

off topic, but fantastic and a must-read:

Agreed. Well done Mr. Simon.

I love this ad. More more more!

A great ad, that. Simple, easy to understand and devastating. McCain is going to get clobbered in November.

This is a DCCC ad and they need help to continue these.

I agree with other commentators!
This is the best ad I've seen this election.
This needs to go National.

An ad tying Palin to Bush would be amazing!
Use a governor angle where she and Bush were popular governors of a state that bordered a foreign country...and so much good that did.

user-pic

Now THAT'S a great ad! DNC, please run a version of it in every motherfucking state of the union. PLEASE!

I would like to thank the cable news networks and network news for running this ad endlessly during their newscasts and for free. Oh wait my bad they only do that with McCain’s ads

The one plus from having more any more economic indicators such as the unemployment rate heading downhill is that eventually, by a process of elimination, we can get to what exactly these "fundamentals" are. I suspect that they include the ability of the well heeled to continue to contribute to GOP campaigns.
