Obama's Acceptance Speech

Astounding.

Greatest political event of my lifetime. And McCain got punched in the nose last night. There's nothing Adlai Stevensonish about that speech. Awesome.

Watched it this morning and was bolted to my chair, dogs barking for food, babies screaming. All must wait.

Ok, I'll be the bad guy. I thought it was too long and was a little boring. I like the soaring rhetoric better. It was a "nuts and bolts" speech, which I don't necessarily think was appropriate for the occassion. At least the media can't say he isn't specific in his speeches anymore. Maybe that was the purpose. However, for the occassion I would have liked to see the soaring rhetoric, that I think would have amped up people more and motivated people more.

This didn't motivate people?

Such an amazing sendoff into the final lap. Between Bill and Hill, Biden, last night's masterpiece and yes, even John Kerry's remarks, the effective attacks on McSame and Bush have been laid out. My only hope is that the Dems can now hammer away at them with the GOP like efficiency for staying on point. I never want to hear another Dem praise McCain for his service to the country. McGeezer is blowing that up our ass enough by himself and if Barack and Co. HAMMER away at him he will be left stamping his feet and whining, "BUT I WAS A POW!!!!" He has nothing else to say anyway.

We got all the pundits and talking heads and such blathering about this.

What I want to know is, what are your neighbors, coworkers saying?

Last night there were fireworks in my neighborhood, the big illegal kind, right after the speech.

Such a moving moment. We posted MP3 highlights here.
