Michelle Obama To Meet With Military Spouses In Virginia
The Obama campaign announces that Michelle Obama will hold a round-table discussion with military spouses on Wednesday.
The campaign is also launching "Blue Star Families for Obama," which it's billing as "a national military families council" that will keep the Obamas up to speed on issues facing military families and coordinate campaign events with them around the country.
It's a sign of a concerted push-back against the McCain campaign's efforts to "create a narrative" (still our favorite reigning euphemism) of Obama as indifferent to and insufficiently respectful of the military.

if you refuse to visit wounded troops because 'it might look political' and it took the DOD to point this out to you, you will rightfully be the target of some skepticism.

Since everthing I've seen so far shows Obama with huge support among the troops (which McLame has to know) this should be really cool.

Excellent choice. Her negative ratings are actually higher than her husband's. The only thing people know about her is that she wasn't proud of her country until a few months ago.
My God, this campaign is crumbling before our very eyes. McCain is on top of the polls and it's only August. Imagine the panic when Obama's state polling numbers collapse as well. When that lead in PA drops to 5, then 3, then a dead heat. Only then will some of you see how bad this truly is.
Obama's rock star status is what got him here and McCain's tearing it apart because he failed to transform himself for the general election.

Could you provide the link that backs up your claim that her negative ratings are higher than his?
And "The only thing people know about her" bit--interesting. I guess the Access Hollywood interviews (generating crazy ratings) and the US coverstory (generating crazy sales) have had no effect? I'm curious. Where is the link that backs up the "the only thing people know about her"?
The favorability/unfavorability ratings haven't been collected after these events, have they?

I also think it's not an indication that he would lose at all, only that he would have to sweat his ass off day and night to win. Won't cruise to the WH that's for sure. But if he wins, it won't matter, unless it's by a hair.

Ok,
If you want to go jump in the Rio Grande Gorge if McLame wins - fine. We lived through Commander CooCoo Bananas - we can live through McLame if we have to.
Or at least some of us can, since some of us are grown-ups who realize - well, life ain't always easy.
Now, that said - I do not believe there is a chance in hell that McLame can actually win this election. The GOP can steal it, but they cannot win it.
And the House and Senate candidates for the GOP not only know that, they've been saying it publicly for months.

Judging from your previous posts, I doubt that you know that Blue Star families are families who have a family member serving in the U.S. armed forces during a time of war or hostilities who are allowed to display a banner with a a blue star (or stars) signifying that fact for the duration of such hostilities. We are a Blue Star family, and our soldier, who is a decorated combat veteran, has seen first hand the disasters created in Iraq and Afghanistan by the stupidity and bungling incompetence of George Bush and his enablers, like John "we'll muddle through" McCain. Our soldier is an enthusiastic supporter of Barack Obama--and is wife--and is extremely demoralized by the thought of McCain being president. To this point, we've been an unofficial Blue Star Family for Obama, but with today's news, we'll be kicking it up a notch.
