New MoveOn Ad: Americans And Iraqis Want War To End
MoveOn goes up with a new ad attacking John McCain for opposing a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq:
The spot says that Americans and Iraqis want this thing to end, while McCain would continue to spend "hundreds of billions" to keep our troops in Iraq for "years and years."
MoveOn will spend $100,000 to run the air on national cable, suggesting that the target audience is largely an insider one.

Explain?

Yeah, explain that.
Is it because 100K is chump change and they are just trying to get the media bobble heads to talk about the add?

"insider audience"...you mean, people like us who bother to click on this poorly produced piece of poo poo?

Whoever produced this should be fired. This was a terrible ad. Did an intern do this?

Great. A photo montage of Iraq, it was like a tourist slide show.....and what's with the end graphic?
"John McCain: Time to end the War in Iraq"
If you watch it with no sound it makes it seem like McCain's plan is to end the War. Poorly done.

I didn't think it was so bad - I honestly didn't. Not great, but I guess adequate.

this might be a dumb question: i thought obama told outside groups (527s?) that they shouldn't run ads and moveon agreed not to. well, i guess that's more of a statement.

I don't think MoveOn is technically a 527 (although I could be wrong). I know they shut down their 527 "division" at Obama's behest.

I wondered about that myself.

The best thing about the ad is that they acknowledged us here in the STL. Represent!
