Gore: No VP Slot For Me

Just in case anybody was hoping for a dream ticket of Barack Obama and Al Gore, you can put that hope to rest: In an interview set to air tomorrow on ABC's Good Morning America, Gore said definitively that he is not interested in the role.

"I've decided to impose a personal term limit of two terms as vice president," Gore said.

I think it was always a silly idea, not to be taken seriously, just like most of the VP choices floating around.

I really like Gore though, The Assault On Reason gave me a new found respect for him. Great book, you could tell he actually gets it.

He is a class guy and too good to spend his time messing around in the Senate. He would be good as Sec. of Energy.

Dear God! Please Obama, name Al Gore as your proposed energy Secretary...it would be like manna from heaven!

Asking someone to enjoy yet another bucket of warm spit is just too much. If he were the VP nom he'd have to campaign and get down and dirty. I prefer it as it stands, with his saintly image intact--it absolutely drives conservatives nuts.

I wish he were the new energy secertary. I bet Obama picks someone else however.

I wish we could move into an new era.

Obama says he is a progressive but I think that just means he is a DLC Democrat.

No surprise; I can't imagine him wanting to do it again.

I do think Obama should consider creating a global warming czar to coordinate EPA, DoE and other relevant departments/agencies and, if so, Gore would be the obvious person to do that.

Great idea, Moose -- just please don't call the person the "___ Tsar." Too many past Tsars in other administrations; historically, none is taken seriously, each suffers ridicule and ends in obscurity, or worse.

...not to mention anti-Bolshevist.
