The Hilarity Continues With McCain Camp's Iraq Attacks On Obama

The McCain camp's attacks on Obama over Iraq are really beginning to take on a burlesque quality.

Yesterday senior McCain foreign policy adviser Randy Scheunemann actually said that Obama was the one who resembled Bush on Iraq, in that both are stubbornly clinging to their views despite reality.

And today the comedy continues. This afternoon, the McCain campaign will release a video attacking Obama on Iraq called "The Obama Iraq Documentary: Whatever the Politics Demand." The McCain "documentary" gives a starring role to Senator Jon Kyl.

But Kyl isn't exactly brimming over with credibility on Iraq: He clung for years to the silly, long-debunked myth that Iraqis went to Niger to acquire yellow cake, repeating it as late as August 2006.

We'll bring you the McCain camp's video as soon as it's available. Stay tuned for all the fun!

Late Update: The video is here, but I was wrong to say Kyl is in it. The MSNBC report I linked to above didn't actually say he would. Kyl actually introduced the vid. My mistake. Apologies.

why is the main stream media not covering the fact that McCain called his wife a

CUNT

in public

Nice all caps for emphasis!

But is this really necessary? At least provide us a link so we aren't getting all crazy over a false smear....and if there isn't video or audio, let it go. Please.

thanks.

I just hate that word, and think we better tread carefully on this one.

I hadn't seen that. Funny.

I fall for almost anything.

You are, of course, correct. But there were many witnesses to this event. Just like there were many witnesses to several of McSame's temper tantrums.

The bottom line is this: McCain does not have the tempermant to be President. I think that was what Neil was trying to point out. The mainstream media is doing a piss poor job of bringing light to this fact, but that doesn't mean that we have to just roll over and accept it.

Popping the popcorn was we speak....

I admit: I'm not an unbiased observer, but aren't these "attacks" diminishing the credibility of the McCain campaign?

The tying of Obama to Bush might work on people like Chuck Todd or Anderson Cooper, but to the average voter, if they think of Obama at all right now, and Iraq, they're going to immediately think "He was against the war".

To try and split hairs on this issue and argue that he's like Bush just doesn't fly, on any level.

user-pic

mccain's credibility diminished? never! heresy!

user-pic

Greg, did you catch that McCain admitted he was receiving Social Security checks? A disgrace!!

user-pic

Yeah, I know. I guess I had a moment of temporary sanity there.

Is this McCain's attempt to enter the Youtube world?

We can mock and laugh all we like, however if the MSM covers it like it's legitimate then McCain wins the battle.

user-pic

Jeez Greg, if uncrediteable surrogates are off limits who is McSame going to have speak for him?

Phil Gram, in many ways, is responsible for the Enron disaster and the current mortgage crisis. He spoke for McCain until everyone figured out what an asshole the man was. Now he is gone.

So McCain uses Kyl for his spokesman on Iraq. Sure, Kyl is a typical GOP halfwit who doesn't know what he is talking about, but so what? Who else is McCain going to get? Senator Hagel? I don't think so.

If we start looking into the credibility of surrogates we might actually improve the public discourse, and that would be boring!!

snark/

Senator John Kyl: I didn't want to say this. The motherfucker bought yellow cake. All right! From Africa. He went to Africa and bought some yellow cake.

News Reporter: Are you sure?

Senator John Kyl: Yes! I'm sure, bitch!

You forgot to mention that it was wrapped in a special napkin.

I miss the Dave Chappelle Show....

user-pic

Kyl doesn't so much say that they "bought yellowcake" but rather that our Intelligence Agencies couldn't confirm that such an attempt was made. So basically Kyl's stance is that anyone can make a claim and if we can't confirm it then it must be true!

The just make the most tasty yellow cake in Niger. I'm telling you. It's delicious.

Not to keep grumbling over this, but the Obama = Bush is severly undercut by the first sentence in today's NY Times story on how Iraqis feel about his upcoming visit:

"There was, as Mr. Obama prepared to visit here, excitement over a man who is the anti-Bush in almost every way: a Democrat who opposed a war that many Iraqis feel devastated their nation. And many in the political elite recognize that Mr. Obama shares their hope for a more rapid withdrawal of American forces from Iraq

"The anti-Bush in almost every way".

How do you like the sound of that, Randy?

I agree this is ludicrous but..
May I remind you so were the attacks on John Kerry from the swiftboaters.

You never know what sticks. In the words of Mad-Eye Moody --- Constant Vigilance!

easy as that

lovely. thanks for the tip. I'll get back to you.

Still no audio or video I can find.

Sorry. Let it go.

Barack has announced that Michelle will not be accompanying him on his Obamapalooza tour of Europe and the Middle East.

He wants to avoid an international incident where, for example, Michelle might say: "Germany is a mean country," or "I've never been really proud of England until today."

Right....I'm sure it has nothing to do with not wanting to be away from her kids for so long.

And the fact it ain't a official state visit to require spousal company.

And if it's on youtube or the like every view will have McCain and Co. giggling with glee. I'll just wait to read a report or for the Jed Report mocking vid rebuttal.

"Whatever the Politics Demand"?

This is the guy who VERY strongly spoke out against the war when it was politically stupid to do so, right?

user-pic

so the "obama iraq documentary" will feature nothing but republican hacks who's goal is to elect john mccain?

that sounds more like a campaign ad than a "documentary".

------------------Dorn76----------------------

Did you hear the latest McCain joke about the ape who rapes the woman and she likes it.
Read it on politco.com front page.
Oh it is so funny.
Ha Ha Ha

Ha Ha Ha

that guy just cracks me up

why doesn't mcsame talk about himself ???

has he given up all ready ???

user-pic

yes.

he know s his only hope is to destroy obama.

mccain can't make an affirmative case for himself, so he's making (or trying to anyway) a negative case against obama.
