Poll: Obama Narrowly Ahead In Pennsylvania -- And Winning "Beer Track" Voters!
A new Rasmussen poll of Pennsylvania gives Barack Obama a narrow lead over John McCain in this must-win state. The numbers: Obama 46%, McCain 42%, with a ±3% margin of error.
And despite the constant message in the primaries that Obama wouldn't be able to win "beer track" voters, the pollster's analysis has this: "Obama has a sizable lead among those voters earning less than $40,000 a year, with McCain well ahead among those who earn more than that annually."
Even if we factor out African-American voters who are more economically downscale, this would still suggest Obama is doing solidly among white blue-collar voters.

i dont believe obama is narrowly ahead just because of this poll but i mean obama has been having a beer drinking competition with hillary so of course hes ahead among beer drinkers. i never saw mccain drinking beers in PA before

*GASP* You mean all that spin about Obama's supposed problem with "white hardworking white Americans who are white and not dark" was all a bunch of BS fed to the media and low information voters?
NO WAY!!

Damnit Michelle, I won't feed you. You can starve under the bridge like all the rest of the trolls.

Ah yes, the Secret Invisable Empire of P.U.M.A.! Of course! That explains everything!
They must be behind this inexplicable, and surely illusory, surge for Obama in states that we all know he cannot possibly win! From their secret underground headquarters, their hidden operatives receive a stream of coded orders from their mysterious leader. Working covertly from within the party that scorned them, they undermine the weak and corrupt "democracy" that has arrogantly robbed them of That Which Was Rightfully Theirs!
Soon, a New Order will arise in which ungrateful little brats who don't listen to their elders and dare to cast their votes for the candidate of their choice will know the torment of their firey vengence, and the evil corrupt leaders who refused to override the outcome of the election will be overthrown!

Michelle,
What are you going to do when you wake up in November and Obama is POTUS and the Dems control all of Washington?
I know that you don't think that will ever happen, but let's say for the sake of argument that it does happen. What then? Will you give Obama a chance as POTUS? Will you start another party?
Because if Obama wins and the Dems expand their lead, then you are looking at a really good chance of about 10 to 30 years of an Obama/Dean-legacy controlled Democratic party.

Uh, no. By '12 the country will be over and done with the centrist/anti-Republican package.

According to Rasmussen, Obama leads by eight among male voters. Since his overall lead is 4, that would suggest that, according to this poll, McCain and Obama tie for the female vote. Those numbers are pretty far from the historical "gender gap" that has developed over the past several elections.

Rasmussen tends to have a slight bias towards Republicans. Most polls have Obama more around the 6-8pt range. If he is leading in Ras, he must have a solid lead.
What this really means though.... TV etc pundits are completely full of shi* and people should flush what they say down the toilet.

As a whole, Rasmussen is showing that Obama now has the same electoral map as Kerry and Gore.
Which means: the same voters, pretty much. Not exactly "Change" there.

538.com, run by a pro-Obama statistician, rates Rasmussen as the third most accurate pollster in the USA.
When a Rasmussen poll is favorable to Obama, as today's NM poll was, Obamaphiles do not complain. When a Rasmussen poll is not as favorable for Obama (as in PA today), the Obamaphiles criticize Rasmussen as biasing poll results towards the Republican.
You must take the bitter with the sweet from any particular pollster.

Despite your fine taste in movies, I need to disagree with you a bit.
Rasmussen may be 3rd most accurate but they are fairly consistent in their bias. 3rd on a list of pollsters that have sucked rocks this election isn't saying much. The reason they tend to err on the conservative is due to their quota model. (All pollsters set quotas for certain groups when they are polling - most common are demographics to ensure a representative sample) Rasmussen includes quotas based on party membership from 2004 voting - which would lean more Republican than current voter identification.
Also, the accuracy rating on 538 is based on the primary campaigns which is different since they were polling within the same party.

obama's condescending bowling outing is troubling to me. he thinks it is o.k. to lecture people about sportsmanship and playing to have fun. but winning is everything. he should apologise.

Andy, baby. You the one who should be apologizing.

Eric, You get up here and apologize too! You wrote in your piece:
"Even if we factor out African-American voters who are more economically downscale."
Why didn't you put in between "out" and "African-Ameican voters" the phrase, "that segment of" so it would read:
"Even if we factor out that segment of African-American voters who are more economically downscale."
Would be better, no?

Absolutely. I think Obama should take out a full page ad in the NY Times, and apologize, personally, to you, andfrombrooklyn-troll, because your tender little sensibilities were offended somehow.
