This is going to be a loooong election season and I'm glad to see Obama knows what's coming and is gearing up to fight it. Kerry always seemed to be a little surprised by it. Or at least unprepared or dismissive, thinking that such outrageous, scurrilous attacks wouldn't be taken seriously. The Democrats seem to have learned the lesson-hit back hard, fast and without mercy.

It's kind of crazy, you know there's no dirt on Obama so people literally just make shit up. It's interesting that they didn't do this during the primary, obviously not wanting to draw attention to their political 'liabilities'.

Kerry was absolutely blindsided by this in '04, and it's easy to imagine him winning if he had been more effective in combating it.

The Obama operation is a sight to behold! We won't see the memes take root like they did in Kerry's failed bid. Even the asshat Halperin can't help but get woozy by Obama's "killer instincts".

Between now and Nov, we will see a lot of these lies about Obama and we know that they are all based on nothing more than a deliberate smear campaign from disaffected right-wing nutters and general lay-abouts who cannot bring themselves to accept the fact that an African-American is running for POTUS. This will take all of us to fight this scare-mongering.Starting here with people like Fogu2,michelle, present and their ilk. We need to send the strong message that: Not this time

If you google 527s you find there is a wealth of data on them. Wouldn't it be an advantage to cross reference those sources with the rumors that are slain? Most 527s seem to be funded by BIG rich sources (ref. the WP) and if their names showed up as propagators, that would be excellent.

There are a lot more smears that I've seen floating around, though these are the main ones I've seen. hopefully they'll expand the site.

The last one he sent was an article describing how obama supports a $4500 tax on all americans to feed the world's poor. It's written up in several places online and the mailer linked to many articles.

It's a flat-out lie that references Obama's bill requiring the exec branch to come up with a PLAN, though not to implement it.

Yes, Obama should have the obligation to defend McCain after McCain attacks Obama's patriotism and spreads lies about him. What a wonderful idea.

Boy if you were in corporate and it was the holidays, this idea would get you a whoppin' bonus check, promotion, corner office with two windows.
