Today's Super-Delegate Action: Senator Landrieu Hints She'll Back Obama
Add two -- or perhaps three -- more super-delegates to Obama's total today.
The News Star of Louisiana gets Senator Mary Landrieu, a super-delegate, to reveal that she's likely to go for Obama:
"I'm unpledged, but my support will likely reflect the will of the state," Landrieu said while in Monroe on Sunday. Obama beat Sen. Hillary Clinton in the Louisiana primary.
Meanwhile, Obama also picked up the support this morning of two other super-dels: Guam Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo, and Iowa Democratic Chairman Scott Brennan.
The Obama camp claims they're now 107 overall delegates away from getting the nomination (not including Florida and Michigan).

Wow! Senator Mary Landrieu doing the politically expedient thing! No one could have ever anticipated that Senator Suck Up To Bush would take such a courageous stance...
Good for Mary.
That said, can we please get more and better Democrats?

Actually "hinting" she'll back Obama when her state voted for him and when the primary is almost finised for all practicl purposes doesn't really suggest "courageous stance."
I'm not complaining though.

I would only use "courageous" to sarcastically describe something Mary Landrieu did.
More and better Democrats, please!

I am very exited for this election to come to a close, and think that all of the candidates deserve a shot at this. They all have their own opinions, and all of them want to do something better for this country. I would like to invite everyone who is reading this to try out the 2008 Presidential Election Weekly Poll I am hosting at:
http://www.votenic.com
I have run this poll for 25 weeks now, and am amazed with how many people have participated. This poll is free, non-biased, and represents all of America's opinion on this matter. The Weekly Poll ends tonight, so get your vote in for this week, and check back tomorrow for the results. We have gotten great participation this week, the average votes we get have nearly doubled for this week. Thanks for reading, and have a great day!

Agreed - Senator Kennedy - despite having some problems in the past, has consistently stood up for the right thing. He's been a tremendously positive force in the Democratic party - and I think Democrats and Republicans alike should be wishing him well right now.
There. I said a nice thing - was that so hard?
Seriously - let's try to ease up on some of the temper tantrums and start thinking about actual progress for this country. The stakes could not be more serious.
If it's Obama, then I'll back him. This McCain talk is insanity. I don't think people who say things like that really understand the ramifications.
The fact of the matter is - we Clinton and Obama supporters have MUCH more in common with each other than we'd sometimes like to admit. Let's stop the shouting and start a dialog.
Who's in?

I predict the Lion of the Senate will weather this bump in the road. That he has had but a single seizure and no other symptoms bodes well. Medical science has come a long way (able to keep 90,000+ Iraq wounded alive, for example). He will suffer a bit from the chemo and radiation, but his spirit is indomitable. He will join Sens Johnson and Specter on the Senate's Raw Survival Committee. Sen Johnson's condition was far worse, and he came back.

The MSM is focused on Kennedy at the moment...40 years since Bobby was shot, 40 years of wandering in the political desert, 40 years of needing someone who told young people politics is a worthy occupation to which to aspire.
I am liking the idea of Question Time in the House more and more each day.

Maybe Hillary offered to let Landrieu be the Czarina of all the pieces of the bureaucracy that were left behind after she'd pulled out all the chunks necessary to make the Czardoms she's already proposed. Maybe call her the Less Urgent Problems Czarina or Empress of the Land of Misfit Toys.

I guess most of the people commenting here would prefer to have 2 Republican senators from Louisiana. Because that's the choice. Mary Landrieu (or John Braux) or someone with moderate to conservative Democrat politics like that, or a Republican.
Obama carried the primary. Maybe he could even carry the state in the fall, but not if he comes on like the people on this list.
Unlke most of the ignoramuses posting here, Mary has an election coming up this next fall and she understands what she needs to do to get elected.
Sounds like most of you would rather be pure than win..
Coming out loud and strong for Obama will not help her get some of the votes she needs..
Good luck in the real world.
When you have a firm understanidng of Louisiana history and politics, come back and critique Mary.
Otherwise, you are just displaying your ignorance of local conditions, and politics is local.
One thing Mary has been cautious about is making sure Louisiana gets support in Congress to rebuild from Katrina. And she's done a great job of it. Don't you think tha't smore important to the people of the state of Louisiana than how early she comes out on behalf of Obama?
