SurveyUSA: Democrat Way Ahead In Race For Open GOP Senate Seat In New Mexico

Democrats can be pretty confident for now about picking up a new Senate seat in the Southwest this Fall, with a new SurveyUSA poll of the New Mexico Senate race showing Democratic Congressman Tom Udall beating both Republicans by very wide margins for this open GOP-held seat:

Udall (D) 60%, Pearce (R) 36%
Udall (D) 61%, Wilson (R) 35%

Sample size: 1,827 registered voters.
Margin of error: ±2.3%

In the Republican primary subset, the more conservative Congressman Steve Pearce leads Congresswoman Heather Wilson by a 49%-46% margin, within the ±4.8% margin of error. But with these general election figures, any arguments over electability may well be moot.

It's starting to look a lot like Christmas...

FIRST: Hall-lay-farging-louis-lah.

SECOND: Why in all Heaven and Hell is Heather Fucking Wilson not in jail?

It'll be great to have Heather Wilson out of Congress, knock on wood. Here's hoping Martin Heinrich wins her House seat in November.

It wouldn't surprise me though if the GOP's current candidate (Darren White?) drops out after Heather loses the Senate primary to Steve Pearce so the NM GOP can name her the replacement candidate.

Never mind Obama's down-ballot coattails -- those might be some serious up-ballot coattails!

OT: Tomorrow is gonna be fun. Watching McSame try to walk this back ought to be interesting.

Hotdiggityfuckingdog, that's rich!

Thanks for the link, Publicola. I'll sleep well right ... NOW!

*ZZZzzzzzzzzz*

They had the guy that wrote the article on MSNBC this morning and they showed the clip of McCain's 'former' position on Hamas.

The guy was a bit of a jerk and lost a lot of credibility going on & on about Hillary (he's an HRC supporter) but fortunately the clip speaks for itself.

This bodes well, if we are smart enough to elect a dem president to go with it. It would suck to have a majority just to have the president veto everything.

McSame - a flip-flopper hypocrite? Noooo. Never.
Lets just hope the MSM picks this up, unlike the propaganda generals which sat on the front page of the times and then died.

Okay, before I go to sleep (and this site seems to not want me to sleep; there's a lot of wit and intellect here --- a provocative combination), can I just say that we shouldn't call theses CNN-MSNBC (Olbermann excepted)-Fox dipshits the "MSM," but, instead, the "corporate media," which is exactly what they are.

Sadly, ALL (that's right, I said ALL) media these days are agenda driven. Some agendas are subtle while others (like Fox News) wear their bias on their sleeve. But they are ALL, for the most part, "corporate."

CNN makes more money when they dominate the ratings during a political campaign. Ergo, Campbell Brown, Wolf Blitzer, etc., have continually spouted the "yeah, but is it really over" line. When it's over, folks will watch HBO instead. They continue to give airtime to pathetic sycophants like Lanny Davis, Howard Wolfson (does he look like a skinhead or what?) and the perpetually (meth)amphetamined Terry McAuliffe.

Spare me. I have a brain and I can do math. Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee for POTUS. If the tragicomic triumvirate wants to contend otherwise, that's their right. But it's pretty clear they are playing to the stupid wing of the party and, particularly, those stupid folk who hapeen to have ovaries.

That's not an indictment against women, either. It's just an obvious observation that Hillary can get away with pimping her womanhood in ways that Barack could never talk about his blackness.

Finally, for the record: I'm not black. I'm, in fact, the least likely Obama supporter. Forty-seven years old. Born and raised in Alabama. Drive a pick-up truck and own a gun. But, I am an elitist (according to someO because I have a college education and mind enough to know that we've been fed some not-so-creative bullshit over the past eight years that flies in the face of all that was good and holy (note the lowercase "h") about my parents' America.

Which, goddammit, I want BACK!

Obama/Olbermann '08!

I apologize for the typos. I got carried away.

Auble:

Coming from a fellow Southern elitist (I was born and raised just south of the Capital of the Confederacy - the BIG capital!) - I can only say that your OBAMA/OLBERMAN '08 signature made me want to hug you!!!!

And I mean that in the nicest possible way! :)

GayIthican,

I'm a straight man, but I can always use a hug.

Which capital of the Confederacy were you born and raised near? Montgomery or Richmond? If you were born south of Montgomery, then we've got a hell of a lot in common!

Obama/Obermann '08!

Hi Alabama.

Texas loves Barack, too.

no surprise here. you got 2 republicans hammering each other, one moderate and one ultra conservative. whoever emerges will be hurt.

and you got a state trending dem very quickly during a dem year.

easy pickup.

even if Domenici had stayed i think Udall would still of beat him although it would be a lot closer than 25 points.

Go Tom!!! Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Democrats should be mindful of not getting cocky or too over confident.

I'm enjoying this. And I intend to keep on enjoying this.

You appear to fit the stereotype of a woman who couldn't hack the work-world, even in a loser job, and has become a boring and bitter housewife.

O busted! I feel like - I'm naked before you, no secrets can be kept.

I'm stunned!

Wow, this winning shit is pretty fun, no?
