Stephanopoulos: Obama Camp Will Be Bringing Out More Super-Dels

We might just be on the verge of a big super-delegate break for Barack Obama, in the wake of his good showing last night. If so, that could bring this contest to a close fairly quickly.

George Stephanopoulos reported this morning that the Obama camp will be rolling out super-delegate endorsements "three, four, five at a time -- and this nomination will be locked up."

Hillary Clinton currently leads among super-delegates by about 15 votes.

Any chance we can get him to start using "The Champ is Here", by Jadakiss, at public events today?

LOL. The fact that you have a Kenny Loggins avatar and mention Jadakiss is causing me some SERIOUS cognitive dissonance.

Kenny Loggins, After last night I think everyone here deserves to dance.

And this song is HOT! Thanks for the mention. So this is for Obama, our next President.

Yeah, as a huge Hip Hop fan myself, the Jadakiss reference threw me off a bit as well - but I completely co-sign "The Champ is here" being Obama's introductory song. lol

You and I are going to be very good friends.

:)

I am a huge hip hop fan - it's all I listen to. But I don't have a soul to talk to about it. No one else I know listens to it.

I may be the world's biggest fan.

And actually

So this is Hillary's theme music.

Listen Close to the lyrics:

I still think he should come out to 99 problems, either instrumental or the whole damn song :P

Speaking of Jadakiss, I remember him doing a remix of "Why" with the following lines (sung by Common):

Why is Bush actin like he trying to get Osama?
Why don’t we impeach him and elect Obama?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that's the first accurate political forecast ever made mid-song by a rapper. That was at least a couple years ago too.

Mr. Ikes, there's a call for you on line one, a call on line one.

Anything that will get HRC away from the party faster is great. She has done enough damage and has brought shame with her faux populist pandering, her claim if having testicles, as if that is nesscessary to be POTUS, and the blatant lies and spin she forces down the throats of the media and Americans.
Good bye, may you never show you face again in this party.

Hopefully, he's actually right this time. This should be what happens now. But I don't view Stephadiculous as a credible source on any of this. He's been wrong before and he's hopelessly compromised by his past service to Hillary.

Frankly, I don't trust Mr. Snuffy on this one. He may be raising expectations unnecessarily for Obama. Don't trust him one bit.

Wolfson was on CNN this morning spewing some garbage about how Hillary is going all the way and she is more electable and she won the big states and she won the important states.

I believe he even called West Virginia "an important swing state".

Is it possible this nightmare is not over?

Or is the Clinton camp just trying to raise some money to pay back their many debts?

Either way I thought I would throw up over Wolfson's comments.

user-pic

drudge is reporting she has lent her campaign another 6.4 million, bringing her total loan to 11.4M...

"....and will be giving more..."

user-pic

I'm sure Bubba can always get more money from his overseas (read terrorist supporting countries) allies.

user-pic

West Virginia used to be a swing state. Dukakis actually won it. But it's probably a lost cause now.

Steph will likely be forever stained by his horrible debate performance, but when we look back, he was the person who got 2 major points out of HRC:

-"Yes, yes, yes, Barack can win in Nov."
-"I'm not going to rely on economists"

Just reported on MSNBC that HRC loaned herself $6.4MM last month.

user-pic

Jeez - lending herself that kind of money to burn up like this scares me for her, at her age.

I know we're looking at retirement, but I guess it's different when you have $110.

user-pic

I have a feeling we are going to enjoy today very much.

Any bets on what Gottalife is going to say today? Well he even show up?

He's not going to show up. My question is what happened to the $10MM+ she claimed to raise after PA? It would be odd if she paid herself back, just to turn around and loan herself another $6.4MM. My guess is that she's heavily in the red (~$20MM)...

user-pic

Good question. My thinking is of that 10M she ALLEDGEDLY raised much of it was raised by tapping into Bill's earnings.

Wasn't she already at least 8 Million in the hole when that 10 million "came in"?

Assuming she used it (the $10M) to pay off her previous debts (IMO unlikely) that would have left her with only 2 million to campaign in NC and IN.

I can easily see her campaign sucking up that much money *QUICKLY* - and I don't see her new demographic (economically struggling blue-collar rust belt white men) opening a floodgate of money.

I think a $20M debt estimate is fair.

$10M is shorthand for $10,000. "M" is an abbreviation of the Latin mille which means "thousand." Shorthand for "million" would be "MM" (please see Publicola Hussein's post above for correct usage).

Thank you for your attention.

They speak Latin in Latin America dude. This is American America and here we say $10K for 10,000.

Not when it comes to money. See http://www.itcinstitute.com/display.aspx?id=1946

and http://www.marketingvox.com/businesscom_wins_10mm_vc_financing-017337/

for examples.

Thank you for your attention.

Huh? What? Did you say something? Sorry ... I wasn't paying attention.

You're welcome.

user-pic

Wait a minute - so is that part of the shitload of cash that they claim to have raised after Pennsylvania????? Something smells rather fishy here. I can't wait to see the FEC filing (although, by that time, hopefully she'll be long gone LOL!!)

user-pic

Remember that 10M raised in one day? Makes you wonder exactly where that money came from, no?

Please see this note for correct annotation.

What? Successful campaigns ALWAYS lend themselves money....nothing to see here, move along.

According to Timmeh the race is over.

Well, it would be crazy if a bunch of supers *didn't* come out in the next few days. On the other hand, Georgie is completely unreliable so who knows.

$110 million.

jeez.

I thought you were a bit ambitious over how far a hundred bucks would go these days :-)

user-pic

I wonder if the Obama camp pulled back on announcing supers today after she cancelled her events today; and maybe they're waiting to see what she says at the event she now IS having in WV.

That's pretty much how they've been doing it, isn't it?

Not too exciting, but as with their 50 state strategy, the Obama camp has proven to be very very wise in their campaign strategies.

user-pic

Heck . . . The Clintons can keep this up indefinitely. Hillary told O'Reily . . . "God bless rich people like us!"

She has adopted McCain's platform . . . Now, she can adopt Romeny's financing strategy.

George is just trying to raise expectations about Obama so that he'll look weaker if it doesn't happen and Clinton will be able to crow about SD's having second thoughts. He has about as much credibility left as the Clintons.

Isn't denial the first stage of the grieving process? It must suck to have to go through this so publicly! Couldn't happen to a nicer group of slime-balls than Team Hillary!

My question: will we even be able to tell a difference when they get to the anger stage (and will we be able to stomach the bargaining without retching)?

Check out Taylor Marsh dot com.

Apparently, Obama is 2.7 Hitlers worse today than he was yesterday.
~

Well .... that was interesting.

I'm a bit disappointed though: I couldn't find where she has her "Hitler rating system". Who else does she have rated in "Hitlers"?

I sure hope this means I don't have to see Lanny Davis ever again.

we can only hope....

What Obama is probably going to do is roll out in drips Super Delegates but collectively they will add up so that when he wins a primary (Oregon?) it will put himo over the top

Mr. Nitpicker, you need to shut up about that 10M is 10,000 bullshit. Regardless of the roman numeral value, big M is for is always mega, as in megabyte (MB), megaton (Mt), etc, and used for money is always million there too.

I'm ALL FOR nitpicking, but choose your battles.

user-pic

Don't worry!
She 's a rich elitist.

Do her listed debts include the people on her staff who haven't been paid, such as Maggie Williams? I assume at some point they are going to expect some money for this. My guess is Hillary hasn't been paying a lot of her staff for awhile now. Just wondering if that's figured in the debt she listed. If not, it might be closer to $25 milion or more.
