Spokesperson For Wes Clark Denies He Urged Hillary To Quit
Last night, it was reported that top Hillary supporter Wes Clark privately phoned her after last night's results and urged her to quit the race.
But a spokesperson for Clark adamantly denies the report.
"General Clark was on a plane to Ireland last night and in fact didn't learn about the election results until he landed," said the spokesperson, Jessica Vanden Berg. "He didn't talk to Senator Clinton."
Berg added that Clark hadn't spoken to Bill or any of Hillary's campaign advisers.
Responded Obama-supporter John Aravosis of AMERICABlog, which first reported the story: "I wouldn't be surprised if General Clark is denying it -- when you take on the Clintons, the sniper fire is real."
Clark will be among the handful of prominent Hillary supporters whose actions vis a vis Hillary will be among the most closely watched -- by the campaigns, their top supporters, uncommitted super-dels, and the media -- in the days ahead.
Late Update: The Huffington Post reports that Hillary spokesperson Howard Wolfson is also denying the report.

A whimsical observation:
Hillary's campaign is broke, flat busted, spending a huge chunk of her personal fortune, and she accomplished all that without ever having to consort with a single Elite Economist.
Hillary says; "Screw all those Elite Economists. They have done nothing for my campaign. I owe them nothing. I am my own Fuzzy Mathematician."

O dear. I wish this wasn't Aravosis. He runs about 50-50 and when he thinks he's right he won't back down even if someone can prove he's wrong.

It doesnt matter anumore, the math is against her to the point where the longer she stays in the more weary Dems will become of her.
20 minutes into her speech and she hasnt mentioned BO at all. She is obviously taking the Mike Huckabee approach of campaigning but not going negative.

Of course this doesn't matter - it's a bit of gossip - which Aravosis is way into.
I love John for some things, but he gets (ahem) impossible from time to time.

Having been banned from his site back in late 2007, I can attest to what you say.

Were you part of that massacre when he went on that rampage and banned his entire comments community?
LOL!
sometimes John is a bit of a cliche. Don't give a fuck who he hits as long as the drama's lit.

Good, I couldn't care less if she stays in the race if she will leave the kitchen sink the fuck alone.

Wes Clark would be an excellent running mate for Obama. A Clinton supporter, ex-military, from Arkansas, I can't find anything wrong with the guy in that role.

He's a terrible campaigner.

Actually he's improved mightily on that front since 04.
He's been a near-constant campaigner for Dems around the country since then, and has honed his debate skills by taking the 'voice of reason' (i.e., non-conservative commentator/analyst) gig on Fox news.
He'll never be Obama-charismatic, of course.
But if he and Barack work well together (who knows?) I think he'd be a solid asset on the ticket. More nationally vetted than Webb, whip-smart, and overall very compatible with the *Change* motif, based on his own campaign rhetoric from last go-round.
And as he's a prominent Clinton supporter, picking Wes could be seen as a fence-mending move.
Not a bad man to creatively dismantle the Cheney VP legacy either.
Just my 2 cents....

The HRC campaign's failure is a lesson in pride and arrogance.
The new race is to be the first HRC campaign staffer to write a book about the campaign and how it imploded. The finger pointing is about to being.

Does it matter when he heard the election results? He couldn't have called her after he landed?
Not that it matters anymore, Barack has had this stitched up for months.

Wolfson denies it? It must be true.
Does anyone else think Wolfson looks like Chris Elliott?

Someone needs to start pushing the "Hillary Bubble" concept to the media. Her relationship to reality is starting to look a lot like another politician who shall remain nameless.
Hillary has "turned the corner" in her campaign.
