Obama's Super-Delegates Keep On Coming

Barack Obama is piling up more super-delegates this afternoon, putting him on pace to overtake Hillary Clinton very soon in all counts:

The campaign has announced via press release the endorsement of Congresswoman Mazie Hirono of Hawaii.

New Mexico add-on super-del Laurie Weahkee, who was selected as an uncommitted super, has announced for Obama.

The Obama campaign has announced the support of South Carolina state party vice chair Wilber Lee Jeffcoat.

California DNC member Vernon Watkins has endorsed Obama, saying simply: "The election is over, everybody knows that. Obama has won."

The score so far today: Obama +8, Clinton net +0. Obama is roughly 160 delegates overall from securing the nomination.

It's starting to become a deluge. What happened - the PowerPoint presentation didn't work? ;)

Nobody could find a 5-1/4" floppy drive to read the file.

Meheheheheh

avatar

Someone really needs to make a parody powerpoint presentation. I was going to but then got lazy and wrote this message instead.

avatar

Haha awesome. I am so glad I didn't make one now. Genghis made a much better one than I would have made.

Loved the bar graph showing percentage whiteness in the two candidates....

avatar

I thought the one she sent was parodic enough.

Tsk, tsk. Shame on you.

avatar

Wile E. Coyote dropped her brand new Acme Power Point Anvil, but at the very last second, the Road Runner veered off to gobble up five more super delegates, and then speed ahead. Meep. Meep.

Hillary will be ignored.

Don't ignore. Feed her something positive:

Keep Hillary in the Senate!!!

as Senator, of course!

What will Idiotic post when Hillary is but a tainted memory?

avatar

I think it will be something like this:

THIS IS EXCELLENT NEWS!! FOR MCCAIN!!!!

avatar

that was the equivalent to doing "the wave" at a sporting event.

Plus per Politico, Guam certified its results and the DNC chair said they'd support the winner of the election: +1 Obama.

Greg - Was this post painful?

;-P

Dunno if he has read it yet. Eric posted this.

I keep doing that!

Sorry Eric.

I don't think Greg supports anyone.

It's a superD tsunami!

avatar

It's almost like they gave her until the end of the week to drop out. And now that she won't, they're going to release a ton of SDs to start nudging her a bit.

I'd say her outright racist tactics and "white power" play is more likely the cause, if a cause was necessary at this point.

avatar

Zogby said yesterday to expect dozens in the next 24-48 hours.

I'd say Mr. Z has done himself proud over the last week.

I also think that they were waiting to see the "kindler, gentler" Clinton (which her campaign promised would happen if she stayed in) - now that she's decided to send the race-baiting dog whistles to WV and Kentucky they are done with her.

Wouldn't that be nice.

avatar

I sure hope so. More and more the Hillary we are seeing is the Hillary of this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhXAbQjzYxE

Oh, and check it out, I found video of Gottalife out enjoying a drink on the town.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnkoUIVRnxU

Don't worry, Wolfson will soon be on a conference call catapulting how those delegates are irrelevant because they aren't white enough and Greg will duly crap it out here.

Worse, they're all JUDASES!

Hillary Billary is accelerating her demise with her nuke Iran statements and veiled racial utterances about white voter electabilities. The superdelegates are not stupid but she sure is-certainly at this point. Oh, how desperate she has become right at the end of the game. She has made a sloppy mess of her end game and it shows. Everything is turning towards Obama's favor.

I guess this might silence the "Where's the deluge" chatter starting to permeate MSNBC.

And for those of you, who, like me, dislike Lanny Davis and his comments on CNN, he was apparently fed up with CNN's coverage Tuesday, and told the political director that he will no longer appear on the network during political coverage (Larry King is still A-OK in Lanny's book, apparently).

Link: Lanny Davis and Leaving CNN

Happy Friday, people.

Thank God - I absolutely cannot stand him. Good riddance, I say!!

I just posted a video which will be even funnier when you imagine Hillary's reaction to this news ... enjoy!

http://tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/2008/05/tasteless-yes-gutbusting-hilar.php

"Hurricane Katrina would have made a better campaign staff." And:

"The voters have stolen my nomination".

I know - you could quote practically every single line of dialog from that video - they are all that funny. Like this one: "And all thse fat f*cks are waddling over ... to worship that dandy Obama ... like he's the second coming of Jimi Hendrix." Sheer genius! ;)

Don't worry, the bitter-enders will then scream the superdelegates are not letting the voters decide and are 'disenfranchising' the remaining states and territories.

Not enough SDs in a flood for Obama... Obama not closing the deal.

A real flood of SDs for Obama... SDs are throwing the nomination to Obama.

Heads Clinton wins, tails Obama loses.

Don't let the door whack you on the ass on the way out, Lan-Man.

avatar

Oh my god! Please Lanny don't punish us with your absence! Not!

Yeah, sure. Davis is an attention whore. His "I've had enough of you, I'm out of here" holds as much water as GotALife's final farewell to our little forum here.

Looks like Obama's finally tapping into his Strategic Superdelegate Reserve.

Looks like their checks arrived.

If only Clinton's vendors would get hers.

D'OH!

You went there, didn't you??

LOL

I understand she is forwarding her bills to Obama's campaign.

And how are those grapes. Pretty sour eh?

Cheese to go with that whine?

As I've posted before, GL, my brother's co-worker in the suburbs here is active in local dem politics, and she tells him that Bill spoke in person to the dem pols several months ago, threatening their future political careers if they didn't support his wife.

I take it from your "Looks like their checks arrived" allegation above that you do not condone *bribing* of supers. What about *blackmail* as described in my anecdote?

And do you have it on good authority that neither Hill or Bill are bribing supers?

Just want to make sure we're all on the same page here regarding behavioral standards for our candidates.

Well put GL - thanks for speaking the turth amidst the cool aid.

Thats the second random obscure simpsons quote on here today!!!

"West Virginia didn't get the memo that this was over. ARG finds Clinton leading Obama by a 66-23 margin."

Ouch, I guess they did not drink the kool aid.

Lets face it, Obama gave a speech and has done nothing since the last convention.

avatar

sore loser, goatshite.

Riiiiiiiight.

Which will give her at 70% for Hillary and 30 for Obama a total delegate gain of.... wait for it...... 12!!!!!

Do you think she might run for President of West Virginia?

Mountaineer Momma Clinton for Prez!

A lump of coal in every pot!!!

Coal tax holiday!!!

Give mans_best_friend a Cabinet post! Secretary of Energy! Love that outside the box thinking!

I think GL would agree with me - If I can't have an HRC (Hilary Clinton) nominate - I won't have any at all.

Seriously - the idea of a presidential nominee who's won more states, more elected delegates, more popular votes is EXACTLY the kind of thing we don't want in America - which is why HRC should get the nod (nomination).

Gotalife - can I get a witness?

Don't forget about the mountain loads of money his campaign can raise from individual donors. We don't want that either.

avatar

yes.

West Virginia doesn't do memos...

Nothing since the last convention, eh? I seem to remember a few bills here and there - something to do with ethics, loose nukes. Hm.... What am i thinking?

Oh, yeah - he also beat out Hillary Clinton to become the Democratic Nominee for the 2008 election.

But you're totally right. Nothing of substance beyond all those pesky accomplishments.

avatar

Well I appreciate that Obama waited until today to see how Hillary would respond to her obvious defeat on Tuesday. She decided to attaack the presumptive nominee for President... and it is time for Obama to push her out and shut the door.
He tried to let her exit in a noble and classy way. But that would be SO un-Clinton.

Good for Obama..... And the rush to Obama begins.

avatar

I'm guessing those people in West Virginia don't know how to make Kool-Aid....

I've been through that state....it was hideously racist. MMMMMMMM what a lovely demographic for Hillary. She should be proud.

avatar

You know, this would make a great Apple/MAC ad against Microsoft - "Powerpoint sucks! See how well it worked for Shrillary??"

Mac, not MAC. Sorry. Pet peeve.

For me too, since I would never use a Mac, but I do (on rare occasions) use MAC.

I have no idea how this double posted and this one the link is wrong and I didn't even type that.

For me too, since I would never use a Mac, but I do (on rare occasions) use MAC.

DORK, not dork.

I've said before I thought the only thing holding the SD's back was the big money Clinton supporters who threw a hissy fit every time one of the party leaders suggested the SD's should start to announce. But even they have to know it's over. The trickle is turning into a river. Expect the deluge any day.

A Hillary Intervention:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Krqy0JP-qEM

I'd really like to see Clinton voted in as the Majority Leader.

Nancy Pelosi, Speaker; Hillary Clinton, Majority Leader.

Wouldn't that be wonderful?

No it wouldn't. She has neither the skills nor the seniority required.

She doesn't have the temperament for consensus-building.

No.

The Majority leader can decide what legislation sees the floor to get voted on.

The last thing a Progressive President needs is someone as tied to special interests as Sen. Clinton deciding what the Senate votes on.

I can vote for her for VP, she'd be a great Gov. of NY. She might make a good SCOTUS Justice.

I want Barbara Boxer or Russ Feingold as Majority Leader

Ok, ok, I get it, people. : )

I'm just not impressed with Harry Reid. And I think some of Hillary's ability to block out reality and go singlemindedly after something might be a useful attribute in a majority leader.
