NRCC Chief: Anyone Who Doesn't Give Us Campaign Cash "Ought To Be Ashamed"

The GOP effort to win House seats is so strapped for cash that its leader has now taken to scolding members to get them to cough up donations. In the wake of their defeat this past weekend in Louisiana, NRCC chair Tom Cole reportedly told a conference meeting today that anybody not donating for next week's Mississippi election "ought to be ashamed of themselves."

Very few of them have given to Mississippi GOP candidate Greg Davis, nor did many of them give to Woody Jenkins in Louisiana. By contrast, new Louisiana Congressman Don Cazayoux (D-LA) was able to raise over $160,000 in direct donations from the House Dems, and he and Mississippi candidate Travis Childers have both been helped immensely by the DCCC's financial advantages.

If you have to shame your supporters to their checkbooks, you've already lost.

guess that means hillary's finished then.

user-pic

Paraphrasing Tom Hanks: there's no shame in politics.

Seriously. Politicians aren't going to be shamed into doing anything unless they can see a benefit.

And in this election cycle, hanging on to one's cash is clearly going to be a benefit, because, as Tom Cole just demonstrated, the NRCC isn't going to be able to help all that much, is it?

That's funny, I don't feel ashamed.

They think Democrats have no shame anyway, so I'm not donating. That's for sure.

So, you're resisting the RNCC's fundraising efforts?

user-pic

ROFLMAO!

Gloat gloat gloat gloat gloat gloat gloat -

Where's that permanent Republican majority we heard so much about?

Where's all that political capital? Where are all those values voters?

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!

Goddamn I'm enjoying this.

Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC: Sen Baye is telling her that if she loses both, she will "do the right thing," and drop out.

user-pic

STFU, for real?

Wait a second, what does Hillary consider "the right thing?" That is truly scary.

user-pic

The "right thing"? Why, go more negative, of course.

Oh yeah, and pander more, too. A lot more.

user-pic

Is that even possilbe?

user-pic

Translation: "The fun part."

user-pic

Piffle.

That tells me they are pretty sure they've won Indiana. They can be gracious about doing the right thing when they know that the conditions for doing the right thing aren't going to be met.

Or am I being cynical?

Wee Georgie of ABC is reporting that both the
Clinton and Obama camps are projecting a 4 to 8 point win in Indiana for Hillary, and that Obama will win North Carolina. He did not give a margin for that state.

user-pic

Never going to happen. There is zero access for doing the correct thing in the deep black pit that occupies the place where Senator Clinton should have a soul.

Hillary will ride this pony into Hell and drag us all with her.

McCain-Clinton '08

I'm proud to say I donated to the DCCC when Speaker Pelosi got the extortion letter from that list of deep-pocket contributors.

Welcome, Congressman Cazayoux!

user-pic

Me too and that was one sweet victory!

The Democrats' Operation Chaos: Run good candidates against the GOP.

I thought that was "Operation Civilization".

user-pic

LOL!

Yeah, and don't elect an apeshit insane president and then cooperate while he runs the country into a bridge abutment.

They aren't getting the majority back any time soon unless the Democrats have collective ergot poisoning and launch a nuke or something.

"Indiana bellwether county predicts victory for Hillary Clinton

Voter trends in Delaware County, Ind., considered to be the bellwether of the state, were being observed as
Hoosiers voted in the party primaries Tuesday."

Thumpin.

Not talkin about the thumpin already predicted in N.C. though are ya?

Goatshite Droppings alert. Just step around them folks.
No need to step in them. Just move on.

HA!

EXITS SHOW EASY OBAMA WIN IN NC

user-pic

Listen guys, if you enjoyed seeing Cazayoux win, there's someone who really needs money - Rick Noriega, in Texas - he's running against John Cornyn. Cornyn reportedly has 8.6 million. Noriega is in the hundreds of thousands.

He was polling well against Cornyn - well enough that he got one of Russ Feingold's Progressive Patriots awards. But he needs money bad if he's going to stay alive.

Boy, would I love to see Cornyn go down. He is such an imbecile....and to see a Democratic senator from Texas? That would be so SWEET!

user-pic

It would. I hope Noriega can generate some money and excitement.

Cornyn is about the biggest clown left in Congress.

user-pic

Wow. Given what we have in Congress, that's saying something, huh?

**Whoa! How were you able to pick ONE clown out of that Circus?

user-pic

Mr Box Turtle Boy?

It isn't easy, but really - anyone who would more or less allude to having sex with box turtles being the result if Teh Gay were to be allowed to marry has got to be the one now that Frist and that other little fundie asshole from Pa are gone.

The leader of the NRCC doesn't know that republicans have no sense of shame? How is that possible?

I can live with that kind of shame.

"Preliminary exit poll results indicate that just under half of Democratic primary voters in Indiana and North Carolina alike call the controversy surrounding the Rev. Jeremiah Wright an important factor in their vote, a potential wildcard in the outcome of these two contests."

D'oh.

I'm curious about how many of them were Republicans who had crossed over to vote for Hillary.

I'm curious how many of his quotes are rectally produced.

And WTF does "important" mean? I would use it as an important reason to vote for Sen Obama to show support in the face of attacks.

user-pic

Exactly.

But goatyhead isn't going to acknowledge that.

user-pic

D'oh . . . ALL!

What happened to Clinton's victory in NC?

Olbermann reported hysterically funny numbers last night: out of well over 200 Republicans in Congress - most of them incredibly well off - only 37 have donated money to McCains's campaign.

Hell, on our side Barack even donated money to Hillary and dozens of other Democrats.

And Hillary helped ...well ..one Democrat.
The Clintons earned 10 times more than the Obamas- but Obama geve more to his own party.

VIVA OBAMA/ -RICHARDSON?MCCASKILL?CLARKE(RICHARD)?SHINSEKE? '08!

user-pic

BOOOOOOOoooooo.......WAAAHHHHHHH!

Hey gotNOLife! What is Clinton going to do if her & McCain's Party has go no cash?

user-pic

Seven sisters went to vote

In wholesome Indiana..

"Do You have Your Papers, girls."

Mo Superior demanded

In spite of terars and pleading looks, she had to tell them all,

"Sorry girls it doesn't matter, the rules are posted on the wall."

And so they left the polling place, nary a vote was made,

And went back to the convent to ponder what she'd said.

user-pic

THE DEAL IS CLOSED!

user-pic

ps... Hillary WILL work for the nomeinee of the Democratic Party!

At least that is what she just said...

user-pic

These folks have had no shame for decades now. Why should they suddenly change now? Man is this going to be fun in the fall watching them desperately search for pennies in the sofa while Obama pulls in millions over the Internets.
