New McCain Ad Teases Dems For Still Fighting It Out

John McCain has a new ad set to air in Iowa, contrasting McCain as a leader against the two Democrats who are still taking shots at each other:

"John McCain -- leadership, not politics," the announcers says. Of course, this ad may be just in time to be too late, as Barack Obama is in many ways looking past Hillary Clinton and already duking it out directly with McCain, as we saw yesterday.

May be too late?

roflmao - worst timing evah! LOLOL!!!!

Another terrific offering from what may end up being the Most Tone-Deaf Campaign Ever. Like Hillary, McCain is going to spend the next several months testing out messages, seeing what works. And it will come across as desperate and impotent. Yeah, I just used the word "impotent" in a comment about John McCain. And I'll do it again!

user-pic

Actually, I think "tone-deaf" is very kind.

Let's just leave it at "turn up your damn hearing aid, McWar!"

;)

But for Senator Obama's race, this presidential race would be a cake walk, with McSame as an opponent.

I guess I am partisan, but everytime I see this ad, I start laughing so hard.

"Duking it out"??? Has Shrillary been mentioned in the media at all this past week?? After her landslide???? Talk about has been news!

Uh Uhh...this is now Obama vs McCain BIG TIME!!!

Good riddance, Shrillary!!!

People like you are the reason Hillary supporters hate us. I hope you're satisfied with your role in perpetuating the infighting; just think how proud you'll be when McCain wins in the fall! Now please go fuck yourself.

Um, Hillary is the only one still fighting it out, Obama isn't taking shots at her, he is ignoring her and focusing on McCain.

Hillary is on message.

Corporate media united with the gop smear machine are attacking Oilbama on his lack of experience on foreign policy and his radical wife.

If you want to win time, I suggest running Hillary Clinton.

We were right and you were dead wrong as usual.

Obama is essentially the Democratic nominee. This is a Democratic blog. By your own previous statements, you should either shut up or get the hell out, Gotalife.

Your choice, but those are your options, if you want to look like you have any intellectual integrity at all.

user-pic

That's what makes McWar's ad so damned lame.

Like him - lamest of the lamey lame. More lame than O'Lame the day he won the Lamest of All Time award.

As usual, McCain asleep at 3 am.

I hope McCain pushes out more of these ads attacking both Dem candidates together, it's helping solidify the party, and pissing off ex-Hillary supporters who were tempted to vote for him.

user-pic

I think we can count on that.

LOL!

I'm not too worried about the Democrats coming together. I really have experienced the unifying force of the Bush Legacy up close and personal. I have found that no matter what someone is upset about, it's a simple matter to steer their emotions right onto Bush. It takes about 3 minutes - mention his name.

;)

No. I think Clinton supporters tend to agree with McCain that the Democratic party has once again shown itself to be completely dysfunctional in nominating a bad candidate who will lose the general election.

Mc Cain is solidifying the Republican base and affirming the Clinton supporters decision to sit out the election.

No. I think Clinton supporters tend to agree with McCain ...

It's mostly the Clinton trolls who tend to agree with McCain.

Typical of Obamites to take words out of context and vomit their spin.

To Greg or Josh,
can you guys please block poster(s) Godzilla and A Monkey for Obama? They maybe the same poster. the continual intentional racist post by this individual(s) is very offensive and brings down the quality of this blog and diminishes the level of debate her. Its getting to the point where i cant take it. Please do something.

Yeah-- as I asked above, is there away to block particular IP addresses from registering? That may be the only way to keep creeps like this who continually change their screen names from contributing.

OT: CNN is reporting that Ted Kennedy has been rushed to hospital. No details yet.

For real? aw shit -

McCain Of The Panderosa.

More War Years! More War Years! More War Years!

A vote for The Maverick Of The Panderosa, is like a Vote for the Cowboy from Crawford that rounded him up and branded him.

More War Years! More War Years! More War Years!

Poor "Monkey".

It thinks its white skin and penis entitles it to a place at the front of the line. How dare we all ignore its superior claims to superiority? And how sad that it can point to no other "accomplishment" other than being born white with a penis...neither "accomplishment" being anything it did for itself on its own. It must be sad to count the accidents of birth as your only source of "pride" and superiority. Sucks to be you, dude.

The problem is that sensible voters in primaries are choosing to continue this fight, thinking that their "feelings" are more important than the political reality.

The latest Oregon polling is a bit of a surprise. Obama is down from 20 points to 5. This was bound to happen to some extent, but the same demographic drama and infighting seen elsewhere is at play.

Rural areas in Oregon will go the way of WV, voting with race an issue. They will go McCain in Obama is the candidate.

Portland and Eugene, educated, hip and with a large number of students at colleges will go Obama. Portland holds the state's biggest catch of delegates, and Obama will get plenty.

Retirees will go for Clinton. And there will be the strong segment of older white women who can't give up ship-Hillary.

Hispanics reside in Oregon, but the numbers registered are low.

Oregon remains a mostly a white state. It will be disappointing if Clinton does well at all in the university communities.

Obama will win. The margins are in flux.

Nice to see you.

You have morphed into one of my fave commenters. :)

Nice to see you too, sweet Texas, but I'm not "staying," though I watch from afar. Fight the good fight and sing those down and dirty Janis songs. See ya.

user-pic

Obama generally does well west of the Mississippi.

All the voting theories that pertain east of the Mississippi break down completely in the west.

And I consider Texas more of a western state than a southern one, though it's close call. I guess everything west of Abilene, is really New Mexico; south of Llano is Old Mexico - but I'm not there. I'm over here somewhere in a cross between Oklahoma (sigh), Arkansas (bigger sigh) and Louisiana.

;)

But the western sensibility is very much alive all over the state, except deep East Texas - which is still Jeb Stuart territory.

The problem is that sensible voters in primaries are choosing to continue this fight, thinking that their "feelings" are more important than the political reality.

Yeah, God forbid they be allowed to participate in the democratic process. Canceling elections is so much more efficient.

The latest Oregon polling is a bit of a surprise. Obama is down from 20 points to 5. This was bound to happen to some extent, but the same demographic drama and infighting seen elsewhere is at play.

After the Pennsylvania primary, the Jonestown spin was that Obama was such a strong candidate because he cut into Clinton's lead. Now, in Oregon, it's just one of those things that's bound to happen.

Rural areas in Oregon will go the way of WV, voting with race an issue. They will go McCain in Obama is the candidate.

In contrast to say, North Carolina, where exit polls show that 9 out of every 33 black voters said that the race of the candidates was important to them.

Senator Ted Kennedy taken to a hospital from his Cape Cod home, said to have been exhibiting stroke like symptoms. He is now being move to a Boston hospital facility. No further news available yet.

user-pic

Well, I hope he's ok. Dayum. Just when things are cookin'

Well, all we can do is hope for the best. His father suffered a debilitating stroke. Ted is Seventy Six, so that will put further focus on the risks involved in electing some one of McCain's advanced age.

ZOMG!!! The Tuck School of Business?

ROFLMAO!

the person this is meant for will get it.

I said you were a LIAR. Hee hee!

After the Kerfuffle in the Knesset, I think McBush has more serious things to concern himself with than Obama and Clinton

user-pic

Why so, John?

I thought it was almost not legal for him to do that - I'm curious if you have some ideas -

Friday aft'noon rebuttals

Hey monkey boy, checked out your pic (Mark Nuckols)on google. You've got the nerve to call anyone else monkey?! Like far too many conservative GOPers, I get the feeling you will be outed as one of those morally upstanding(using male prostitutes)devout christians (who likes to touch little boys) we keep finding out about.
Sorry to everyone else here for feeding the troll but this guy is something else.

He's actually more of the internet Russian wife type.

The REPs are just pissed that the DEMs have two candidates and they got none/nada/zero.

Whenever I hear Rush Limbaugh gloating about Operation Chaos, it pleases me to remember that if he had any sort of influence, McCain wouldn't have been the Republican nominee.

uh, hello, may I ask you all a question? The obama map now gives New Hampshire to Obama because he got another delegate from the Edwards endorsement. Is that correct?

um, ah, hello? woof? has everybody gone home just when I trot in here? Oh well. That monkey guy is a real asshole, we can all agree about that.

user-pic

lyra - if you check back in, come upstairs.

That was the most boring 30 seconds of my life.

I can't tell who's more pathetic—the monkey troll guy, for his parade of unimaginative yawners and his sad, vulgar pride in this sort of fish-in-barrels marksmanship, or the rest of you for biting down so hard. Being this predictable ought to be a crime, and I hope you all execute yourselves forthwith.

Arguing with him/her/it certainly doesn't seem to accomplish anything, except to get folks here off the topic.

HILLARY HAS TESTICULAR FORTITUDE!!

SHE WILL WUPP MCCAIN...

ON THE OTHER HAND,

OBAMA, THE PANSY, COULDN'T CARRY MCCAIN'S JOCK STRAP!!

A Fossil Fueled Presidency: McCain 2008

How can Mccain run an ad highlighting the Dems battling out a primary, especially considering the only reason he is the Republican nominee is that field was so pathetic it included a flip flopping "who let the dogs out" nimrod, a whacky Jesus speaks through me minister, a washed up actor, a new york parrott called 9/11, various lunatics and Ron Paul..."the change you deserve," indeed!

Oh, I get it. The ALL CAPS somehow makes you either astute or funny. If you're a Democrat either get in line behind the nominee, like the Republicans always do, or get out of the party. Otherwise, you've proven yourself just to be the little troll we've always suspected. The same to getalife.

He forgot my favorite part. "John McCain. America's most Americanest American ever."
