National Dems Pouring Huge Sums Of Money Into Key Mississippi Race
The newest FEC filings show the extent to which the Congressional Democrats have been able to throw their financial advantage around this cycle and expand the playing field, with the DCCC now making a major investment in the nationally-watched Mississippi special election.
The DCCC put in over $700,000 yesterday on behalf of Democrat Travis Childers, bringing their total spending so far to about $1.1 million. By comparison, the NRCC has only been able to spend about $590,000 to play defense in a deep-red Southern district.

DEMs doing the correct thing . . . Say it isn't so, Roscoe . . .
Almost makes me willing to publicly express my party affiliation.

Sorry, this guy's a DINO who is running from Obama as fast as he can. We may need to hold our noses and put up with assholes like that in the Senate for a while longer, but we sure as hell don't need any more of them in the House. I feel like sending money to his Rethug opponent.
This stupid DLC tactic of running wingers who call themselves Dems just for the sake of meaningless, impotent "majorities" needs to be over, right now. It just feeds the constant rightward ratchet of our politics.

His didtrict includes DeSoto county. That is the most Republican county in MS. What do you expect?

I expect Republicans to represent Republican districts. Trying to get ultra-conservative Democrats elected in such places just gives us more of what we have now- an impotent party that doesn't stand for anything. That's the road to nowhere.

Just because a district is conservative doesn't mean throw them to the wolves...
I'm glad to see such a solid race forming.
NC-08 is another district that could really turn around this year...(And benefit from an Obama nomination)

I'm all for running a REAL Democrat there, exposing voters to real Democratic ideas, and losing honorably while building for the future. But the cynical maneuver of running candidates who would be happier as Republicans, just for the sake of "winning" (winning WHAT, exactly?), is for the birds.
