Biden: Obama Has Asked Me To Campaign For Him

In another indication that the Obama camp is shifting gears into the general election campaign, Joe Biden told the Washington Times that Obama has approached him about being a campaign surrogate. Biden has not publicly endorsed either of the remaining Democratic candidates.

"He has asked me to play a more prominent role - not in an administration, in the campaign," Biden said, "meaning would I be more available, would I travel with him occasionally, and I said once he gets the nomination, if he gets the nomination, then I'll do whatever he wants."

Obama/Biden '08

Talk about entertaining. Biden would relish being the attack dog. Giuliani is still hurting from the noun-verb-9/11 soundbite.

Wow, Giuliani - I vaguely remember him!

Biden's is still easily the best line I've heard during this never-ending campaign...

As long as he stays clean and articulate, I have no problem with Biden campaigning for Obama.

Thanks Joe. Your still the man.

It would be fantastic if Biden would lead the on the Iran talking points. He is a voice of reason on Middle Eastern policy, particulary Iran.

Obama would do well to leverage Biden's no-nonsense approach.

"once he has the nomination" he'll be glad to do anything to help?! What about helping him SECURE that nomination, and stop the divisive primary from going on way past any possible usefulness?!

Joe was trying to avoid given the Clinton campaign anything to hang it's hat on. They are the masters at playing the victim card.

We probably won't get updates on the delegate count here at EC.
But, I believe that Obama just got three more super delegates, one from WV, two from TX. That puts him at 41 still needed to reach the number needed unless/until that number changes a bit with the seating of FL and MI.

Joe is playing his cards close to his chest. Will he commit next week when the primaries end or will he hold out until Hillary calls it quits? It should be interesting which way he goes.

Remember "Bullshit!"?

I'm pretty sure I know who Biden prefers.

Joe is a very good offensive player- especially on FP.

Let's hope Biden can end McCain's chances with a one liner as quickly as he destroyed Rudy's.

Sure would be nice if 41 of those 60 or so elected officials that are supers - would come out today and endorse Obama giving him the OFFICIAL number of 2026 TODAY. Giving him even more power going into negotiations tomorrow.

I would be great if Obama could walk into tomorrow's meeting and say, "I have officially won this nomination as the DNC counts today, therefore I shall a leg up on any final decisions to be made with Florida and Michigan."

I propose that Biden do an Obama tribute remake of the Outkast So Fresh and So Clean song. Guarantee more you-tube hits than that damn will.i.am gah-bage.

The most help that Biden (D-Gaffe) can provide is to keep his mouth shut.

Coonsey -- I really think it's far better for Sat decision and last three primaries occur before any decisive number of SDs come out -- otherwise HRC can scream "they STOLE it from me before all the voters had spoken!" Next Wednesday, however .... one can hope.

As for Biden, the true dream ticket in the opinion of some of us is OBAMA/BIDEN '08!
