After Long Delay, McCain Releasing Health Records Tomorrow

John McCain will release his health records tomorrow, an important step in dealing with any unease that the 71-year old might not be physically up to the presidency -- and a step he didn't take during the primary season, which in helped allow concerns about his age to linger.

McCain said the release has been delayed by a concern for accuracy and thoroughness on the part of his doctors: "They're going to be saying, 'We have reviewed these records and these are the facts.' And I think it's very clear that they want to make sure that every single thing is right."

From the article:

On Friday, the campaign will allow a small pool of reporters access to the records from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Pacific time in a conference room at the Copper Wind Resort in Phoenix, near the Mayo Clinic Scottsdale. The reporters will be allowed to take notes but not remove or photocopy the records. Campaign officials said they were imposing the restrictions to prevent the actual records from wide dissemination.

3 hours in an Arizona hotel to read over a 1000+ pages of records right before Memorial Day weekend. That's transparency for you.

McCain adviser's work as lobbyist comes to light

By Matt Kelley, USA TODAY

WASHINGTON — John McCain's top foreign policy adviser lobbied the Arizona senator's staff on behalf of the republic of Georgia while he was working for the campaign, public records show.

Randy Scheunemann, founder of Orion Strategies, represented the governments of Macedonia, Georgia and Taiwan between 2003 and March 1, according to the firm's filings with the Justice Department. In its latest semiannual report, the firm disclosed that Scheunemann had a phone conversation in November about Georgia with Richard Fontaine, an aide in McCain's Senate office.

Orion Strategies earned $540,000 from its foreign clients over the year ending on Dec. 1, reports show. Scheunemann also received $56,250 last year from March to July from McCain, according to campaign finance records.

The campaign consulting fees ended at a time when McCain was under financial pressure to cut costs, but Scheunemann remained the campaign's top foreign policy adviser. He represented McCain throughout last fall — including an appearance at a Republican Jewish Coalition event during the same week he lobbied McCain's Senate office.

ROFLMAO!

Accuracy and thoroughness. Right, McLame, I got it.

Peek-a-boo disclosures.

Who picked the small pool of reporters? Was it
Conceal My Tax Returns, and Conceal My Drug Crimes, Cindy?

All Barack wants to know is whether all of McCain's bearings are there, TPM-reader decency pleas aside.

"decency" is one of those words. It gets defined loosely based on who is doing the defining. It's purely personal. And bullshit.

If the records show something awry, then there will be something to talk about. If they don't, the tawdry exercise of name-calling will only be detrimental to the campaign.

Uh, what happened to the press conference with his doctors he said he was going to set up? Straight talk indeed.

His medical records won't be half as interesting as Cindy's financials.

I am sure the terrible news about Kennedy's condition was sure to put some fire under the asses of McCain's staff ! Barack is gonna grill McCain ! Between Bush lite, FP, Lobbiests, Health , Rev Hage, Flip flopping and age !

OMFG! Look at all the white out . . . AND it appears the mental health section was snipped out with kiddie scissors . . .

McCain is giving a select group of reporters a peek at his records. They can take notes but cannot copy the records or remove them from the room.
Enough of the peek-a-boo reportswith a select group of reporters.
I want open and transparent government.

McSame, indeed.

All of those attending should get together prior and divide the pages up among them. They all take copious notes on their section then share what they found with each other. That would be good journalism in the interest of finding the truth.

Obama better get his out there, before antidepressants show up on them.

Are gliomas catching?

Oh, hi guys.
