SurveyUSA: Clinton's Pennsylvania Lead Shrinks To Six Points

The newest SurveyUSA poll of Pennsylvania shows a serious tightening in the Democratic primary race, with Hillary Clinton now leading Barack Obama by only six points. Here are the numbers, compared to last week:

Clinton 50% (-4)
Obama 44% (+4)

Assuming this margin holds up, Clinton would be unable to win the primary by enough to get any sort of large net delegate or even popular vote advantage.

Wow - huge. SUSA has been the reliable poll too.

Of course, it's just a poll. And who knows what pipe from the kitchen sink will be thrown today by Hillary.

I give up. I'm predicting a Clinton win of nine points, but no margin would surprise me. The only shocker would be an Obama win.

Wasn't there just a post that said that all of the movement was towards Hillary? Can we just agree that no one seems to know what in the hell is going on?

She needs a 20-point blowout in Pa. to really change the dynamics. I just don't see that happening, as her flaws have become obvious to all but the most devout followers.

Obama is hovering around 43-44 points. Word is his operation will be able to push out another 2-3 points on election day. That would get him to 45-47 percent, within the margin he needs.

And if Philly really is moving that strongly to Obama, then it's going to come down to Clinton getting undecideds to vote in the western part of the state. If they don't, this could be close.

The key will be the ground operations, who gets their supporters to the polls. And how many of those undecideds -- and there sure are a lot of them -- will just decide to stay home?

What are you talking about? She isn't even close to the numbers she would need to gain significantly in delegates or popular vote. It is over.

And I'm sooooo sick of polls and trying to identify trends and reactions to this hyped story or that hyped story. BAHH!!

F the polls, they all read the same thing:

"Hillary isn't going to win PA and every other remaining state by 20+ points so this thing is over!"

PPP says Obama ahead at 49% to Clinton's 46%.

A six pt Clinton win is exactly what I was predicting last week. I am gratified to see that SUSA is suggesting that I might be correct. As an Obama supporter, I would find that to be a very happy result. I was never expecting that we would win PA, but if we keep the margin narrow then we ensure that we arrive at the convention with more delegates and more popular votes and thus make the case for superdelegate support totally unambiguous.
