SurveyUSA: Clinton Ahead By 14 Points In Pennsylvania
The new SurveyUSA poll of Pennsylvania shows Hillary Clinton leading Barack Obama by 14 points, not significantly different from last week:
Clinton 54% (-2)
Obama 40% (+2)
The poll was conducted Saturday through Monday, in the heat of Obama's "small town" flap -- a sign that the whole business might not really be hurting him all that much, at least for now.

So let's get this straight
Three polls out today (including two from the best pollsters in PA).
Quinnipiac shows things staying even.
SuSa shows Obama +4
And Rasmussen shows Clinton only +4 (from 5 points to 9 points difference).
So basically this whole collective frenzy of piling on is a wash. So CAN WE MOVE THE F*** ON now ?

Um, looks like Hilly has a problem, since unless she can pull off 20+ point wins in Pennsylvania, oh, and EVERY SINGLE STATE LEFT, she is screwed.
Funny how reality works huh dumbass?

In (weak) defense of the media, the industry I work in, it's a for-profit business. The closer the race is, the more they can hype up stories, the larger their viewership is, and the more they can make in advertising.
For the Democratic race to be over means a sharp drop in viewership until the general election coverage starts picking up full steam in Aug/Sep.

This is GREAT news for Josh and the boyz at TPM! Thank God there is resource out there where we can find only good news for Obama, and find out every last dastardly deed by Hillary :) I thought Josh was really onto something when he gave us those hints of the Passport files being hacked right around the time of 3 primaries! And, seriously who can read into a subliminal request buried in the last paragraph of a letter by Hillary that Schuster be fired? Glad I'm on YOUR team!

Of course, if we had seen this same change in the opposite direction (Clinton +2, Obama -2), Eric and the rest of the media would take it as a sign of Obama being hurt by the controversy and you can bet he wouldn't be adding "at least for now". He'd be saying that it might get worse.

Ah, I see your point. You're right. But there's still a week before people vote in Pa. That's a long time in a campaign.

Hell, Eric's still waiting for the Reverend Wright flap to show up in the polling.

Indeed, where else but here can you find a mash-up video of Hillary's Bosnia Bloopers? If Hillary is the nominee, that little TPMTV logo will be in the in lower corner of the bloopers as wingnuts pass them around. Yay!

"In the Keystone State, Clinton is now viewed favorably by 74% of Likely Democratic Primary Voters, Obama by 72%. Those figures are little changed from a week ago."
Thanks for the link.

The "cling to religion/guns" remarks may or may not have a direct impact on the PA primary -- although the "undecided" voters might not be forthcoming about their views at this point. The PA primary is not the issue; its over (thank you Mr. Rendell).
The real issue is whether the "cling to religion/guns" remarks damage Obama as a potential candidate in the GE. I would be interested in a poll that assesses whether the remarks make him a stronger/weaker candidate against John McCain, or whether there is no impact. If there is a negative impact on this front, it strengthens HRC's hand with the SD's or at the Convention. It also might increase the margin of victory in Indiana.

I think Obama can make a valid case against McCain that he'll be the latest in a long line of politicians that don't listen to the frustrations of ordinary Americans.

Sure Sure.... you know, it's not Hillary's fault that video got made. It's not topical or noteworthy that she's a flat out liar. It's the media's fault. Those poor poor Clinton's.... always the subject of the gaint right wing media conspiracy(executed on left leaning blogs no less!).

After this bipartisan, planned, coordinated attack, Clinton has to win Pennsylvania by better than 20 points or it's a loss.
That's what the conventional wisdom will be by next Tuesday.
20 points.
If she can't pull that off with the help of her allies: McCain, the entire wingnut screeching chorus, and the media, she's unelectable in the general.

Not to mention what Hillary just did in full view of the superdelegates. Any not already in her pocket [DLC types, old connections] would be loathe to ever endorse her now that she has dealt the Republican's a hand by distorting our Democratic frontrunner's position with small town folks.

Obama Would "Immediately Review" Potential Bush Administration Crimes.
That is great Obama but there is a neutral blog and the ACLU actually doing something than just spewing:
Please join C&L and the ACLU to tell your members of Congress: Don’t Look the Other Way on Torture:
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/04/14/please-join-cl-and-the-aclu-to-tell-your-members-of-congress-dont-look-the-other-way-on-torture/
Instead of talking, you can actually do something.
Join them and not just talk about it.

Has either of the other presidential candidates said anything on the record about investigating if crimes have ocurred?
Has either said anything about civil liberties?
Has either said that they would systematically review EVERY Executive Order and undo each and every one that is unconstitutional?
I thought not.
There's more there than just an 'empty suit'.
You profess to admire the ACLU, yet you openly mock the ONE candidate that gives a shit about Civil Liberties.
That's pretty telling, if you ask me.

The most interesting part about the poll is that she's actually down two points.
This candidate, Hillary Clinton, needs a huge advantage to stay about even.

Stop blaming Clinton. Obama showed his real self in front of his elite donors in SF and thought there were no reporters.
This was Obama's fault and nobody else. He will out spend her 6 to 1 and still lose.

As Jon Stewart said on the Daily Show last night, since when has being Elite a bad thing? Just because the media points at folks in rural areas and tells them what they think that they would like?
Weren't FDR and JFK both elitists? Weren't they both immortalized on our currency?
Do you think 'regular guy' GWB will be immortalized on anything other than a joke book?
I'm sick of the Right telling us which words are bad and how we should show our patriotism. The fact that you subscribe to their word-play is problematic. You profess to be a life-long Dem, but you act so much like a Center-Right Republican. Why is that?

Look, Penn. is and always has been Hillary's state to win. They're old, and white (these are facts, not insults) and Hillary, as we saw in Texas/Ohio, has every intention of slinging mud and a last minute fear ad or two, things that play very well with the demographic in question.
So f-ing what then?
All that matters is that Obama is giving up on it, as Hillary does in a state every time she sniffs defeat. Hillary will win, and win "big." (Nothing like states where Obama has beat her, but better than, say, Texas.)
It doesn't matter! It only matters because there's been six weeks to "make" it matter. It's one state. And Obama is going to be competitive. But to paint it like she's pulling ahead, or halting him, or whatever, is day to day nonsense. She's always been ahead. She will win. We all know this!
And then it will all go on to the next state, where Obama will do a little better and Hillary a little worse and nothing, essentially, will change. Not until the SD's end it at least. In the meantime, this is just political entertainment, which is unfortunate for progressives, that our good message had become mere sport, but otherwise...man, everyone...calm down.

Although it's within the margin of error, the SurveyUSA poll shows that, if anything, Hillary's persistent assholiness hasn't hurt Obama, but it may have helped him and hurt her. Imagine that.
Keep up the good work, Hil. And tell the hubby not to hold back, either.
You want to talk about insulting, condescending, and elitist? Treating voters like they're stupid enough to swallow your mis-characterizations, manipulations, and flat out lies is all that and more. The Clintons are driving the last nails in their political coffins. Good riddance, jerks.
