Obama Nabs Another Super-Delegate

Another red state super-del comes out for Obama this afternoon, the campaign announces: Audra Ostergard, Associate Chair of the Nebraska Democratic Party.

Both campaigns were looking to roll out super-del support today, to show momentum heading out of Pennsylvania, and there was some talk in political circles to the effect that Obama would be showcasing a bunch of them today.

As of now, Obama has rolled out two super-dels today to Hillary's one.

Was just going to post on another thread about that. Link to her statement here:

http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post/samgrahamfelsen/gGCVbx

Less than two weeks ago, on April 2, she was quoted in a Nebraska newspaper saying she was uncommitted and would wait until June to commit. The article also provides a glimpse into how intensely she was courted by both candidates. http://tinyurl.com/5nahh8

SORRY I JUST COULD NOT HOLD IT IN ANY LONGER !!

Do you even KNOW what it's like to live in freakin Nebraska and have "needs". Why my body is raw from the hot wax treatments I've submitted to just to take my mind off HIM! Besides Hillary was only offering an internship at the State Dept and I'm worth a lot MORE!

Sincerly
A. Ostergard

Obamamentum?

What the Obama campaign has typically done is stockpile endorsements, and then roll them out, one or two each day, to fill the gaping void of a news cycle in the wake of each election. It doesn't necessarily amount to momentum or new support, but it does create that illusion.

user-pic

It's all about the narrative, isn't it?

Actually, I thought it was all about the votes. Except the ones in Florida and Michigan, right?

sounds like a smart strategy.

That's simply brilliant if that's what the Obama campaign has done.

Don't forget Sheryl Crow and the 49 former Edwards supporters :P

Oh, and Charlie Wilson

user-pic

Kewl.

He doesn't lie - he said last night he had several to announce.

there was some talk in political circles to the effect that Obama would be showcasing a bunch of them today

Is it my imagination or does some rumor like this rollout before every "Hillary-centric" state? I recall that being the case after March 4th.

True, the "50 superdelegates" rumor was made public by Brokaw, though. I was under the impression that the Obama campaign actually made it known that these post-Penn endorsements would be coming.

user-pic

You mean the Tom Brokaw insistence that the Obama campaign was going to roll out 50 superdelegates?

These rumours are started by Clinton operatives in the hopes that someone in the media would assume that when Obama does in fact not roll out 50 superdelegates, it means some of them are having second thoughts because of Clinton's victory.

Did not work last time, does not work this time. Although judging by Greg, they are getting closer.

As of now, Obama has rolled out two super-dels today to Hillary's one.

Which, not to put too fine a point on it, is exactly the opposite of what Sen Clinton needs to win. In order to overcome his pledged delegate lead, she has to pick up two superdelegates for every one he gets from here on out. And of course as days like today occur (when he picks up two for her one) the margin she needs going forward only increases.

Excellent point, MO!

This is great news. Every super he drops is like a huge blow to her campaign at this stage. I think Hillary still has a few supers up her sleeve, though. She is tough and crafty, and is likely waiting for a good moment to drop them.

Drip... Drip... Drip...

Spin, spin, spin.

She thumped him in PA and will do the same in Indiana.

Stop spinning and start winning.

Single digits is a thumping?

user-pic

No, not to most people. But had Clinton won by the 30 percent margin ol' Gotalife was forecasting, well, that would be a "thumping".

She, of course, did not, and didn't even win by double-digits.

Gotalife, of course, denies that he ever made such a claim about the margin of victory.

Or if he did, he meant to say "20 %". And if he said 20 %, that actually was a typo, too, and he really meant to say 10%.

All depends on what "typo", "mean", and "%" means to you....

8.6 rounds up to 20, no?

user-pic

be fair, gotalife is every bit as honest as hillary is.

In Clinton-speak, yes.

user-pic

Tena was right. Another five minutes, and another non-sequitur.

It's a parody on autopilot rigged for 5 minute intervals.

The real question is, how much of that small gain she eked out is going to be gone because of superdelegate endorsements by the time NC and IN roll around? To say nothing of the big gains he'll make in NC.

hi gotaLIE

Good one.

Oh, man, you are so fixated on this. But no matter what you do, you will never achieve the status of a true net.kook. You are but a pale, bland reminder of the greats like Hasan B-) Mutlu and Serdar Argic. Face it, your flames are dead on arrival.

you poor naive people who don't understand the #1 rule about posting on the internet.

DO NOT. FEED. THE TROLLS.

Gotalife is not a Clinton supporter. he is not here to promote or defend his candidate. he's not even a bad supporter, though often the line between true troll and fanatic Clinton supporter is a thin one. he just wants to get a rise of out responders. he is the former; a classic internet troll.

trying to have conversations with a troll just makes the comments sections look bad for any neutral parties taking note. if you leave him alone and stop trying to engage him he will go away. please do that.

I agree with you Blackstar.Thats exactly what we need to do about the trolls here. DO NOT FEED!!
Infact thats what I have been doing with gotalife...totally ignore his diatribe, with the rare response to him when he really gets out of hand-which is often I'm afraid.
As u said gotalife is a mental shapeshifter like the candidate he purports to be supporting.
Enough said before he takes this for a compliment...DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS!!!

user-pic

Start winning? Look at the scoreboard, chief.

Wait for it......

user-pic

Is gotalife real or some sort of easy-to-do internet performance art?

Copy & paste is very real.

copy and paste might be crafty but it's bad artistry.

;)

It's trolling you can Xerox.

user-pic

Thanks for the laugh.

user-pic

Oh good one!

user-pic

I give up -

She was 20 points up going in. Obama was hoping to keep the margin at 10 or less. He met or exceeded his expectation - last number I read on the spread was 8 something - not 9.

She got more votes - whoopee! this isn't the general. She failed to move her delegate count, she failed to get a double digit spread, she spent most of her money for no advantage.

Explain how this is a win in this context, please.

She thumped him?

She won by single digits in a State she was supposed to win by double digits. She had the PA Dem machinery backing her fully. She's got her own 15 year old machinery in there with her along with her name recognition. She should have beaten him by 15 - 20. That would have been a thumping.

A thumping is what he gave her in Virginia.

gotalife, are you a parody?

I'm starting to believe so.

user-pic

O I left out the most important part - her approval ratings for honesty went way down in the process of winning this big ass 8% victory.

I have to say, supporting a candidate who has almost no chance to win, at the detriment of the greater good, simply because you've invested so much of yourself in her, sure sounds cultish, doesn't it?

user-pic

Tee hee!

NBC Nightly News Teaser: HRC did NOT win by double digits..

Right out of Brian Williams mouth in his teaser for tonight's Nightly News.

It's a start.

Hopefully he'll mock her delegate count too.

Quoth the Tena, "Tee hee!"

user-pic

There goes 10% of Hillary's big Pennsylvania win! So now she is plus 9 delegates and a whole bunch of delegates are off the table. If she continues to rack up these big wins, she may gain as many as 20 more delegates before the convention. WHEEEE!

(CNN) โ€“ Hillary Clintonโ€™s campaign has increased its efforts to pressure Barack Obama to agree to more debates.

On Wednesday, they sent reporters a press release titled โ€œDebate Watch: Day 1,โ€ as part of their continuing effort to focus attention on Obamaโ€™s reluctance to schedule more primary season showdowns.

During a rally in Hillsborough, North Carolina Wednesday afternoon, former President Bill Clinton, standing on the back of a pick-up truck, told voters: โ€œI think I know the answer to why one candidate wants to debate, โ€˜cuz I saw the debate in Pennsylvania. And afterwards, 41 percent of the voters saw it. And by 55 to 22, they said Hillary won.โ€

Earlier this week, a proposed North Carolina debate was canceled after Obamaโ€™s team said the Illinois senator would not be able to find time in his schedule.

โ€œIt's not clear that another debate is going to be the best use of our time,โ€ Obama told CNNโ€™s Roland Martin Wednesday.

This concerns the news about superdelegates how?

Uh, because he's afraid to speak without the aid of a teleprompter? I'm sure the ability to think on one's feet is a good quality to have for a POTUS, and these debates show that BHO is decidedly lacking in this department. Just a guess, but this probably bothers the intelligent SD's who aren't looking to get paid off by BHO.

"55 to 22"? Poor old Pump-Head Bill...tsk...tsk.

Then Bill said Hillary won even while ducking sniper fire.

...and while BHO was busy attending trinity united church and NOT HEARING WRIGHT SPEW RACIAL, ANTI-AMERICAN HATRED.

user-pic

Exactly Otto - if he's too chicken to debate her for a 22nd time we can be sure he won't have the courage to drop nuclear weapons on Iran.

Funny, I recall the Clinton camp sitting on a debate invitation for North Carolina for 3 weeks, which they ultimately rejected.

Don't recall Otto F or the other Decepticons badgering Senator Clinton to agree to that original debate. Funny how that works that way....

Btw, OttoF: when was the last time Senator Clinton narrowed and/or overtook Senator Obama's lead in any state where he was leading in early polling? I've been trying to get an answer from a Clinton supporter all day and frankly, I'm getting no response. Not even snark. Nothing. Help me out.

user-pic

You just be sure not to hold your breath waiting, ok?

user-pic

Oh, for the love of all that is holy, enough already with the ridiculous debate nonsense. We've had 21 - what else does anyone need to know about their platforms? This is just another underhanded Clinton scheme to make the strawman argument that he's afraid to debate and to get another chance to tag-team him with Katie Couric (who, I believe, would be even worse than Stephanopoulis/Gibson - have you seen her interviews???) Since it was her campaign that couldn't settle on a date, she just needs to back off and shut the fuck up. I have truly had it with her bullshit.

She just wants to exploit something he says you know, being that she is so close to Scaife now and fox news..and the other networks take their p's and q's from that lot of idiots!

I love it when you talk dirty. It vaguely reminds me of Stephen King's Misery.

user-pic
โ€œIt's not clear that another debate is going to be the best use of our time,โ€ Obama told CNNโ€™s Roland Martin Wednesday.

Well he got that just right. He's the nominee - why does he need to debate her a 22d time?

I am really sadden by MSNBC...

They are bashing Obama with great energy from Chris Mattews to Gregory and so on...

Do you guys share the same view?

user-pic

I'll share my view with you: I don't expect any of the to act like anything other than paid corporate shill clowns.

And that's how they behave, so they never let me down.

The MSM is the bought and sold voice of Corporate America. They are not journalists. They are not bound to the truth, only to the dollar.

...or more recently, to the pound and euro...

user-pic

And GE is getting mighty nervous over the thought of an Obama presidency. They need to push their corporate shill(ery) or else they're in real trouble.

user-pic

Chris Matthews is one weird and sick dude. The NY Times Magazine piece on him is a must-read. It reveals how needy for approval Chris actually is, and, it details the litany of just plain offensive things Chris has said to women.

I tend to want to engage in Clinton bashing these days, but the fact that Chris Matthews is doing it isn't surprising.

David Gregory? His brain died several years ago. He just hasn't noticed.

That answer your question?

user-pic
David Gregory? His brain died several years ago. He just hasn't notice

LOL!!!!!

that's really good.

Keith Olbermann likening him to John Madden was a pretty brutal comparison. Any football fan can tell you that's not quite a compliment.

Yes, I too think that Tweety (R-MSNBC)and David Dances With Rove Gregory (R-MSNBC) like to bash Obama. I don't watch them anymore.

I wait for KO's news report every night.

I also look forward to Moyers this Friday when he interviews Rev. Wright.

Show them the money, that is all that matters.

user-pic

Desperate, isn't she?

user-pic

Well bitching about another debate after 21 debates is really pretty sad.

Well, it just doesn't seem right to stop at only half the answer to life, the universe, and everything.

user-pic

LOL!!! Hitchhiker's fan, are you? Me too! :)

21? Hmmm... if this campaign earned one year for each debate, it'd be old enough to drink legally.

I have a question for anyone as to why Obama doesn't say this:

Hillary talks about me not being able to win in the general, or I would have a hard time winning big states. Well, I won Texas. However I would like to ask the quesion back to her, or the SUPER DELEGATES that have acused me of being weak or not able to close the deal; Do you think the Republicans would shy away from using Dirty Campaign politics? My oponents negative numbers are extreemly high, and mine are not especialy after the dirty (errrrr tough) campaign she has run against me, my numbers still dont top hers. So if the question is I somehow cant win in the general because of race baiting or whatever, how is it that I closed the gap on her by 10 points in PA, and I didnt resort to attack her on any number of the things the Republicans will attempt to destroy her on? I dont think that the Super delegates would be totaly blind to that fact, and would be willing to over turn the people's will to put a candidate in, who has such high negative polling to run against the Republican machine. I dont think that makes much sense, what do you guys think.

If I were Obama I would keep saying this over, and over, and over again, half because it's true, and the other half because its obvious.

I'm begging anyone to push that approach to the Obama campaign, or if people here (obama supporters) think it weak, please tell me why. I think Obama has the argument to the Supers that should end her nonsense and it's driving me crazy that his campaign isn't attempting to say this publicaly is killing me....

user-pic

I think Claire McCaskill is starting to make a related argument: the Clinton baggage is going to be front and center during the general election, because the Republicans are sure to bring it up.

Thanks CTVoter...I did not know that. See the MSM pundits irritate me behond belief...You know, they talk like everyone is a political Junkie and the spin shit to death, I cant keep my food down when there on, so havent watched today.

Yes, it does, thanks...

I am glad that I am not the only one thinks that way...

No one mentioned that he did pick up 2 Super Delegates and all the 26 NC lawnmakers...

They are saying that Mrs Edwards might campaign for HRC in NC...

They are happily explaining why he can not win the elections, but no mention as why Clinton can not win...

But I still believe that he will raise above them all, and he will win...

user-pic

Tweety was saying that Clinton was going to win by 12. That worked out well.

I'd be stunned if Elizabeth Edwards campaigned for Hillary.

I find this very interesting too. All the post mortems today, clucking over Obama's inability to cut into Clinton's white working class "base." But where does she cut into his "base?" Anyone notice Hillary starting to pull the black vote back? And how about the white middleclass and upper middle class college educated vote? Have they started streaming over to her tent? And yeah, the progrssive wing of the Democratic party has really been swinging her way, hasn't it?

Actually, my understanding is Obama got half of white males in PA. Not bad.

Seems the MSM got especially critical of him after he said he'd investigate the current administration after he gets into office. Just saying.

user-pic

Nice point - very nice point.

And Terry McAulife is a queen-sized douche bag.

user-pic

Look, I know I'm changing the subject here but - is there a bigger douchebag on the planet than Terry McAuliffe?

user-pic

It depends on what the meaning of "is" is.

user-pic

Well, there are some, to be sure, but he ranks RIGHT up there with the worst of them. Did you see Josh's post on the main page? Fox has actually MADE A FUCKING promo of his comments. What a fucking tool he is. And this isn't the first Hillary surrogate who's done this ... we've come along way from Bill's interview with Chris Wallace (where he tore him a new one).

What in God's name is happening to this party? Please, God, let Obama take the nomination and clean house - get all of these DLC-type assholes out of the party (they can always join the Republicans, who will be more than happy to have them, I'm sure!)

No there isn't.

I can answer that.

Yes. Lanny Davis.

user-pic

What about Lanny Davis?

I guess I've rendered my comments un wanted, was hopeing to get some feed back from some intelligent people on the previous question, guess not!

Im watching David Gregory's show, now, you know the one where they dont let Rachel speak or rebutte the stupid media talking point bullshit....

I just dont understand how if her negatives are higher then his(fact), how she thinks she somehow would be a better candidate facing lying ass racist pigs who will do anything to retain power as fars as campaigning. They have a whole year of her lies to use against her, that Obama did not!

user-pic

Because, according to her, she's been fully "vetted" (which is absolute horseshit - there's plenty of juicy stuff yet to be uncovered). And because he's a scary black man - her bringing up Farrakhan during the last debate (for no reason whatsoever) was a loud dog-whistle that he is (a) black and (b) a closet Muslim. It's so obvious it's absurd. And lies? She doesn't care about those - she'll just turn around (as Bill did yesterday with his "race card" denial) and bluster her way out of them. No morals, no ethics, no integrity.

Thank you Carol....but Im saying for the Super Delegate argument. Her argument doesnt hold water if I'm a Democrat. I know what the Republicans do, as we all do, even the Truthful Clinton supporters know this, so now I have established that stance, how does her argument that she is veted, and Obama didnt come close to doing the things I thought he should have as far as exposing her, her argument that she is stronger in the general makes no sense...>TO A TRUE/BLUE democrat who is arguing with her on the facts. The SUPERS need to say who they are for and do it now, she doesnt make any sense. She is relying on the media to help her spin more. The Super Delegates should know this and end it now!!!!!

user-pic

I think the supers will trickle out over the next couple weeks, but most are probably waiting until after Indiana and North Carolina. Which will be good actually, because Obama should win both. He'll definitely win NC. Indiana isn't a sure thing, but still, I'd bet chocolate covered donuts with sprinkles on it.

There I go hopeing again....Hopeing your right Phoebe. Im still not understanding why he doesnt say that the Republicans have more to slime with Hillary than they do with him. The media idiots (even todd, sorry) keep talking about Rev Right and 527's....What do you think they are going to do to her. Not many of Dem supporters would defend her now that she signed up with Scaife...not now. So, I guess I will hope the Supers understand this.

user-pic

Which is why her arguments won't work and why I am confident that at the end of the day we'll be pulling the lever (hey, I'm from NY - we still have the old-fashioned machines) for Obama. Anybody in their right mind who is not beholden to the Clintons (or who has not been blackmailed by them) will see her arguments for what they are - desperate, delusional strawmen.

user-pic

Hey, my hubby just read some of the comments from the Clinton supporters on this site, and he said, "wow - they sound just like Republicans". And you know what? He's absolutely right. That's what the Clintons have done to this party - they've dragged it so far to the center that it's now Republican-lite (at least the "establishment" Democratic party). Well done, Clintons! I for one am not going to let my party slip further into disgrace - I'm going to fight damned hard to pull this party back where it belongs. Liberal is NOT a four-letter word, dammit!

Sorry for the rant - just had to get it off my chest! ;)

user-pic

No need to apologize. Amen! Testify!

Yes we can.

user-pic

Never apologize for telling the truth.

;)

Carol, I agree 100%. Besides the nonsensical commentary from Clinton cultists that resemble the ramblings of your garden variety Republican strategists around here - some of their sourcing when in the midst of a serious debate has become clumsily hysterical. For example, I've seen Clinton supports link to Frank Luntz, praise Joe Scarborough, praise Pat Buchanan, link to FOX News videos, linking to "Olbermanwatch" - and the way they used to regurgitate the name "Rezko" every other minute, when the Clinton's tip the scales in terms of unseemly associations, has made them that much more laughable.

user-pic

Thanks for the support, everybody! :)

I know this will anger Hillary supporters (and probably a few Obama supporters), but I'll go ahead and say it.

Maybe I'm hopelessly naive and Polyanna-ish, but I've always believed that our party was the party of compassion, of fairness, of inclusion, and of integrity. I must say I have been a little shocked at some of the comments made here. Reading some of the comments (and clicking on the links of some of the posts) is like reading RedState or Little Green Footballs. Since when did Democrats (self-proclaimed progressives no less) cite, let alone praise, Joe Scarborough, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Pat Buchanan? Since when did they tear down and trash a perfectly decent man who happens to be running against their preferred candidate? And these comments, sadly, are tame compared to what's happening on Hillaryis44.org and TaylorMarsh.com (or even MyDD). They can no longer call themselves progressive sites - they're regressive, if anything. It's really extraordinary, and I can't help but to blame the Clintons. Deliberately or not, they have created this monster, and their win-at-any-cost mentality bring out the worst in both them and their supporters. They are the most polarizing, divisive figures in the Democratic party and she will get destroyed in the generals if she somehow ekes out the nomination.

Oh, well, if the MSM is to be believed, North Carolina should end it (although, of course, the Clintons will move the goalposts once that primary is over). We'll see what happens...

THIS IS EXCELLENT NEWS!! FOR HILLARY!!!

EXCELLENT NEWS FOR HILLARY..... Is that Freudian....lol......

That's kinda like the old saying......"God Bless America, and know place else"

Hah!

Oh, I get it.

user-pic

I've brought this up a couple of times and I guess I need to go dig the story out of the Dallas News archives if I can find it, because I don't think anyone believes it. I swear to y'all that two special prosecutors who were hired to investigate Bill somehow never got taken off the payroll and switched to Hillary at least 5 years ago.

The tax payers are still paying for these two special prosecutors, as far as I know. I've never seen a follow up, but the News had a piece about it and a long editorial about it, maybe 3 years ago?

If Hillary really thinks she's vetted - o brother.

If Hillary had thumped Bimbo Bill more often, he might not have been such "a hard dog to keep on the porch"!

Referring to her husband as "hard dog to keep on the porch," Hillary Clinton says Bill Clinton's womanizing is a "weakness" that she blames on childhood abuse.

I think Obama should suggest a NC debate with no moderator. The Candidates get to ask each other questions.
Think Hillary would accept?

I think Obama should suggest a NC debate with no moderator. The Candidates get to ask each other questions.
Think Hillary would accept?

user-pic

I think Obama was right when he said there are much better uses of his time than another debate. There have been 21 debates - what the hell difference is a 22d going to make?

He's the nominee. The only person he needs to debate next is McCain.

And what exactly is there left to debate between Hillary and Obama? We know where these candidates stand. Another debate would be another dog and pony show and...no thanks. Stick to campaigning - talk to the people, tell them why they should vote for you and do your best job to get those votes. Time's a wastin'. We've got to get past this and get to the real work to prepare for fighting McCain.

But isn't the whole point of another debate to give Katie Couric a whack at them? Imagine how cold and meaningless the many millions of dollars that she gets for reading the news must be when she's the only kid on her anchor-person block who hasn't had the chance to ask Obama whether he's a Shia or a Suni? It's vitally important that she ask him why he heats his mansion by burning American flags while his little daughters play with their Uncle Sam voodoo dolls.

Get your priorities straight.

LOL! That was great.

user-pic

For once, we agree.

Yes. Sad.

However, gotalife, why would Clinton, her surrogates and her supporters expect anything different from Fux Noise and other wingnut media outlets?

Hillary says the tide is turning? Obama supporters: look at this beautiful video to lift up your hearts!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7s9ubMQX7WE&feature=related

Thank you Suzikimom for that Video it is one of the best I have ever seen.

Some of the images are among the saddest that we know, but the message if one of hope.

A Village in Clintonia reports that it's Idiot is missing. Gotalife, Call Home!!!

Carol, you are absolutely right, McAuliffe touting Fox News is a big fucking disgrace. He even trotted out their slogan for them, did you notice that? Anything to get hillary's campaign some additional publicity! Fair and balanced my ass, what a hypocrite!
Also, I don't know why more people don't see her for what she truly is, a liar. She will say and do anything to be elected president and would continue where georgie leaves off with the executive branch power grab. She is loathsome.

Your right.

The media bias on MSNBC and CNN is so pathetic, they have to go to Fox News to be treated fairly.

They were the first to call for Clinton last night.

CNN was fighting about radicals and MSNBC was spinning a win for Obama.

It was pitiful.

user-pic

suzikimon - my heart isn't low.

I said earlier today - how I feel today is happy, relieved, glad the stupid Pa shit fight is over, delighted she only got a single digit win, and I feel schadenfreude for how much he made her spend for that single digit lead.

And he's the nominee, and he's talking like he is, which is smart.

Please look at the video. It truly is one of hope. I have been sad today because I just want the process to end because I consider Hillary and her tactics to be so toxic. A NYTimes headline today says that Hillary claims the tide is turning, and I cannot hear that phrase without hearing the music to the Obama video with that title.

I feel today is happy, relieved, glad the stupid Pa shit fight is over, delighted she only got a single digit win, and I feel schadenfreude for how much he made her spend for that single digit lead.

Same here. I am so glad for PA to finally be over. That was the sixth shot in Clinton's revolver. From here on out it only gets easier.

So, Obama is the new McGovern:

http://www.mydd.com/comments/2008/4/23/18152/4469/119

Well, that is what the superdelegates were created to stop.

"So, Obama is the new McGovern"

..nothing says "desperation" like linking to MyDD posts.

"Well, that is what the superdelegates were created to stop."

The superdelegates would never overturn the will of the people, and would never willfully eliminate their chances of capturing the youth vote, the african american vote, and new voters. Not going to happen.

A Village in Clintonia reports that it's Idiot is missing. Gotalife, Call Home!!!

England called.

They want their wanker back.

"England called.

They want their wanker back."

You better get going then..

Liam is a wanker from England .

Gotalife just revealed what an Idiot he is, and showed that he uses other Troll names. The Village wants it's Idiot back. Gotalife go back there.

Paging TrollCritic 3000 . . .

Countdown was good today. Keith was on top of things, and proved once again that HRC is delusional, and she can not win under any circumstances...

The pledge delegate game is over...

Senator Obama, our future president won this fight...

Once he won NC, the popular vote game will be over...

So I suspect that by May 7th Senator Obama will get the nomination...

KO has jumped the shark with his Obama bias.

He was spewing Obama won last night in one of the most pathetic broadcasts I have ever seen.

Then CNN was have a raging argument about radicals so I flipped to Fox News and they were the first to call Clinton's thumpin.

KO looked like an idiot when they called it and CNN was last.

Fox was laughing at them and rightly so.

Fox is the name of the village in Clintonia that was missing their Village Idiot. The alert has been called of because Gotalife has been returned to them!

user-pic

Boy, that tirade just convinced me. How effective your rants are in communicating your points in an persuasive fashion!

(Sheesh.)

As I recall, Fox was the first to call Florida for GW Bush in 2000.

So they have a history at least.

and also please check this link...I wonder what will happen on Friday and if the media will report the story...

What do you think?

http://www.hillaryproject.com/index.php?/en/story-details/4529/

user-pic
What do you think?

I think Hillary has a big problem, and his name is Bill Clinton.

I think Obama has a huge problem and his name is Wright.

The gop have their first ad out, starring the radical spiritual adviser, so get use to it, if the Dems are dumb enough to run him.

It's April. If the GOP wants to roll out Wright now, go right ahead. It's going to be old news by November.

You think they will not run more?

This is just the first one.

Like I said, it's April. I hope they keep them coming.

Yeah you do. And you're not a dweeb either.

I'm a dweeb?

Correction: You're a dweeb parrot.

McCain has a big problem named Hagee, so wouldnt that be a wash, of cooouuuurrrrrrrssssse. So if Obama is running against McCain, how would he use right against him? Its like a fighter who doesnt punch for fear of being hit. So tell me, whats Hillary's counter. All she has is baggage.

she is toast and delusional...
she is toast and delusional...

and jon mccain has a bigger problem: John Hagee...

Guess what?

Clinton does not have a radical spiritual adviser.

"Clinton does not have a radical spiritual adviser."

..but she does have Norman Hsu, Johnny Chung, Vina Gupta, John Huang, Peter Paul - oh, and she voted for the war.

http://www.mojones.com/news/feature/2007/09/hillarys-prayer.html

They've also got a nice picture of her husband shaking hands with "scary" Rev. Wright and a video of loyal supporter Rendell praising Farrakhan. Also, remember that journalists without pledge pins have been giving Obama crap for not wearing a pledge pin - you think the Republicans don't have plenty of non-religious stuff to work with on Hillary? They probably had to buy a new file cabinet to hold Bill's post-presidency deds. You think it's tough for a candidate to distance themselves from a church, what about from their spouse?

Heh...pledge.

user-pic

Here's the thing on Wright - either everyone who is perpetuating this disgusting smear on an 80 year old retired minister of a mainstream Protestant Christian Church reads every fucking sermon for every fucking Sunday that Barack Obama attended.

Otherwise, shut the fuck up. Now.

There will be hell to pay for this ultimately - the man is not powerless or without other friends in high places.

This is the most disgusting goddamn smear I've seen since Karl Rove was running the '04 election.

It's a lie - based on a totally dishonest small clip that Clinton had done out of over 20 years of service to God and his congregation.

Really?

Where is he?

Why is he not defending himself?

user-pic

Friday night on Bill Moyers, Loofah. Don't miss it.

And btw Loofah - why are you not defending YOURself?

Isn't he going on Bill Moyers tonight?

user-pic

Damn, the Clinton campaign is going to have to take those goalposts they have mounted on flatbed trucks and mount them on NASCAR cars instead, since they're trying to move them so fast.

user-pic

Eventually the press will start talking about the sheer stupidity of the thing and then they'll quit talking about her altogether if she still won't go away.

and Billy Graham...Have you forgotten about Billy Graham, ex Nixon spiritual advised, and Clinton adviser during the Monica story...So she has that problem too

Billy Graham?

Good one.

Anyhoo, you have hold your nose and watch Fox and visit RW blogs every once in a while to see what they are planning.

Its all about his radical friends and he can't hope them away.

You have no idea how pleased I am to think that you might be right. Obviously Clinton go zero traction out of the l'affaire Wright and McCain will get no more than she did. If the republicans want to waste their scarce and valuable funds beating a horse as dead as that, they will deserve the drubbing that Obama will gladly give them.

user-pic
and Billy Graham...Have you forgotten about Billy Graham, ex Nixon spiritual advised, and Clinton adviser during the Monica story...So she has that problem too

O it's better than that - Bill called on Rev Wright for his support when he got caught skeeting on Monica's blue dress. And Rev Wright was there for him.

It's sickening watching the Clintons become so self-obsessed that they have the long knives out for anyone who ever crossed their paths and who failed in the end to kneel and kiss the ring.

Just ask Bill Richardson.

user-pic

Of for that matter - ask MoveOn, which was created for the express purpose of defending Bill Clinton when he got caught skeeting on Monica's blue dress.

Talk about betrayals - the Clintons are pass masters at it.

user-pic

Yeah, keep trying to convince voters that someone the candidate knows is more important than the candidate himself.

Obama should film an ad showing him with his grandmother, with his wife, with Rev. Wright, with friends and associates, and all the way through it talk about how each of them is an individual he doesn't always agree with, but how his Christian faith has guided him to love those people for their many good qualities that greatly outweigh whatever disagreements they may have...and then ask viewers to look at the person sitting next to them or across from them at the dinner table and ask themselves if they always agree with that person or those people and if they find that reason enough to cut them out of their lives.

Then roll it out and show it again every time one of these stupid "guilt by association" things gets thrown around. And it throws down a "faith challenge" as well, which I just love...it's like, let's see you folks square your insistence that I should have been a hermit rather than associate with imperfect people with your "christian values".

That's actually brilliant logic. I would love to see Obama roll out a series of commercials along those lines, and maybe neutralize this whole "issue". Pretty hard for Hannity and them to rail against a fundamental Christian principle.

user-pic

O shit - storm's coming - big time.

. And it throws down a "faith challenge" as well,

You know, I don't think Obama needs to throw down on faith, but someone sure as hell does. There needs to be lots of vid of all those damn Religious Right preachers and the shit they've said and say to this day - hateful, awful shit about assassinating people, wishing more people had died on 9-11, saying AIDS is God's punishment on homosexuals. Hell that's 80,000 times worse than anything Wright ever thought about saying.

I'm fucking fed up with this phony damn non-issue because it's hurting a man who spent his whole life trying his best to love God and his country with every thing he has.

He was a fucking Marine before he became a preacher.

gotalife is an internet troll and has a hell of a lot of nerve attacking someone like that - that kind of shit gets you zapped by Jesus if you are a believer, gotalife. It's called hypocrisy and it was Jesus' least favorite thing, according to the New Testament.

user-pic

As they say, Tena, karma's a bitch. And as my grandmother used to say, what goes around comes around. Methinks GotaLife's gonna be sorry when s/he gets to the pearly gates! ;)

New numbers from Chuck Todd as MSNBC as of 6:15 tonight. Let's have some fun shall we?

The Pennsylvania pledged count (updated 4/23, 6:15 pm): Clinton 82-73 (three delegates still to be allocated.)

There are 408 delegates up for grabs in the remaining nine contests.

And a new addition, some "fun" with POPULAR VOTE numbers...
Without MI/FL:
Obama: 14,447,566
Clinton: 13,965,192

With FL, but NOT MI:
Obama: 15,016,607
Clinton: 14,822,400

With MI/FL, including "uncommitted" for Obama:
Obama: 15,254,369
Clinton: 15,150,551

With MI/FL, giving Obama 0 in MI and Clinton 328,000-plus (the only metric which gives her a lead):
Clinton: 15,150,551
Obama: 15,016,607

---------------

For those of you keeping track at home, Hillary only leads the popular vote if you count MI and FL and give Obama ZERO votes in MI. Yay, democracy!

hat tip: mageduley

user-pic

Awesome.

It scarcely matters. By the time this is all done, he will have reclaimed the popular vote lead even with MI & FL counted as they stand, with him getting zero MI votes. He is going to win so big in NC that her 210K pick up in PA is going to look chintzy by comparison.

user-pic

Hey Jenn:

On September 18, 2006, Pastor John Hagee โ€” whose endorsement Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said this past Sunday he was โ€œglad to haveโ€ โ€” told NPRโ€™s Terry Gross that โ€œHurricane Katrina was, in fact, the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans.โ€ โ€œNew Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God,โ€ Hagee said, because โ€œthere was to be a homosexual parade there on the Monday that the Katrina came.โ€

http://thinkprogress.org/2008/04/23/hagee-katrina-mccain/

user-pic

My father knew Pastor Hagee (very long story...) and I must say he is one slimy human being. He is absolutely out of his mind - not only did he make that statement about New Orleans, but he has called the Catholic Church the Great Whore, he has said that Muslims have a mandate from the Quran to kill Christians and Jews, and he wants to nuke Iran (hey, Hillary, he should have endorsed you!!)

And what about McCain's BFF Jerry Falwell, who said the America deserved 9/11 because of the sin of homosexuality ... or Rod Parsley, one of McCain's "spiritual advisors", who said that Islam is a false religion and advocated for its obliteration. There's enough shit there to fill the airwaves for months and months.

user-pic

Carol - honestly, the list is endless.

I'm out guys, this storm isn't fucking around.

one love

One thing is now clear. If you count the popular vote in Michigan and Florida, Clinton is ahead. She's been fighting for a re-vote in both states for some time, an effort that Obama and his whiny bunch blocked the all the way in an unbelievable slimy effort to make peoples votes not count. It is like Bush/Rove in Florida. Obama wasn't on the ballot in Michigan by his own campaign designs. He hoped to scuttle Clinton in Iowa and New Hampshire by genuflecting to the earlier states. It backfired. Boo-hoo. As for Florida, Obama ran a million dollars worth of ads, Clinton didn't. She won. Repeat an Obaman whine here. Cry for poor little baby Obama the limp wristed one, I mean we are talking a 37 folks, your Grandmother breaks 100. We simply cannot nominate someone without counting the votes of Michigan and Florida. Popular vote is the only thing that matters, especially since the caucuses are so wacky and undemocratic and the delagates will provide neither candidate with the 2020 plus that is needed to clinch.

user-pic

This is one of the silliest, most amusing posts I've read all day. It's not even worth a response - you really can't argue or convince someone who willfully ignores the facts and makes it up as he/she goes along.

I will say, though, that not only are [many] Clinton supporters delusional, they can't spell, nor can they speak (or write) a proper English sentence. It's no fun debating someone when you can't understand what the hell they were trying to say.

Carol please go get some fellow Obama supporters and scream Hillary is a F*cking Wh*re on you tube. Show your class. I could care less what you think.

user-pic

Oooh, what a comeback! I'm impressed!

Do you realize that your candidate is becoming the sole butt of jokes on both the Daily Show and the Colbert Report? It's really sad (but funny). Anybody with half a brain can see the absolute ridiculousness and futility of her campaign at this point. But keep supporting her - it's very honorable of you. Just don't expect us to buy into your magical thinking and delusions.

"Show your class. I could care less what you think. "

Thats got to be one of the funniest things Ive read in a while! I never truly knew what self parody was till Ive seen some of the Hillary supporters on this board. (Not all, there are some that I like and usually make good points).

Come on, these are facts - and many Hillary supporters are "fact challenged" as we have seen. Logic doesn't work. Magical thinking, however, seems to rule the day. It must be wonderful to live in their world, huh? ;)

There's another certain thing Dembillc...

..IF I came from Krypton, AND I was impervious to harm AND I could fly, I *might* be Superman.

What's the certain thing you might ask?

It's certainly more likely that I'm Superman than it is that ANY rational Super Delegate is going to listen to Hillary's argument to count Michigan. Florida? Hmmm. Maybe. Michigan??? Not a chance.

Sorry, gotta go. I hear Lex Luthor is causing trouble...

Yup, ducking another too.

Can't have another complete melt down.

Why does he hate democracy?

Oops debate.

GIBSON: But how wasted were you the first time you heard โ€œI Am the Walrus,โ€ Senator [Obama], and did your psychotic drug binge โ€” which may have caused you to black out for days on end while committing unspeakable acts you donโ€™t remember โ€” add or subtract from your listening pleasure?

OBAMA: Again, Charlie, Iโ€™m not sure how this helps get Americans health insurance, brings home our troops, or fixes the economy.

GIBSON: Iโ€™ll take your response as an admission that pot and acid do, in fact, make this song betterโ€ฆ.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So [Senator Clinton,] you admit there was no gunfire that day you landed in Bosnia?

CLINTON: Well, you know, George, Iโ€™ve already conceded that I misspoke on that issueโ€ฆ.

(STEPHANOPOULOS brandishes a revolver and fires a few feet above Sen. Clintonโ€™s head.)

STEPHANOPOULOS: But you wouldโ€™ve remembered that, right?

user-pic

????? WTF? Are you hallucinating?

Its a joke.

You Obama trolls need to lighten up.

user-pic

Except that it was about the unfunniest thing I've seen tonite. The Colbert Report - now THAT's funny. I laugh plenty, GotaLife, just not at things that aren't actually funny.

Folks need to lighten up and remember they are politicians.

Number #1 rule in politics, never, ever trust a politician

user-pic

Plus, you didn't credit the original source for this stupidity ...

http://mediabloodhound.typepad.com/weblog/2008/04/the-wounded-c-4.html

It's not really that hard. And it's still not funny.

user-pic

Word up! Keith O., in a segment with Rachel Maddow about the NC GOP ad and the silence from the Clinton campaign denouncing the ad, said:

Well, he [Obama] can't win if she [Hillary] triangulates with Republicans.

I love this man! He speaks truth and he's not afraid to do so!

user-pic

Time to ask Hillary if she both denounces and rejects the NC GOP ad.

Or better yet, ask Bill...

Otherwise, how are we to tell Hillary and the GOP apart?

user-pic

Rachel Maddow said tonite on KO that her campaign was contacted but there has been no response yet. I am disgusted by Clinton's silence on this. It speaks volumes about her integrity and ethics.

Hilllary and Bill have covered up Hillary's extreme radical past.

Reading Hillary Rodham's hidden thesis
Clinton White House asked Wellesley College to close off access

Hillary Rodham in 1965, when she was president of Wellesley College's Young Republicans, shown here with the cover page of her senior thesis from 1969 on radical organizer Saul D.

Alinsky.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17388372/

To read Hillary Clinton's Thesis, that the Clintons have tried to keep buried, go to this site, and click on the PDF file link.

Hillary talks about Senator Obama knowing a sixties radical. Check out how much of a radical Hillary was herself. It is all in her Thesis.

http://rakesprogress.wordpress.com/2007/07/18/hillary-clinton%E2%80%99s-thesis-about-radical-activist-saul-alinsky/

I like how it starts with "With Hillary Clinton poised to win the Democratic nomination for president..."

July 18, 2007... was it really that long ago?

user-pic

Jon Stewart is absolutely nailing Clinton tonite - it's a thing of beauty! They don't have the clip up yet on Comedy Central, but I bet Crooks & Liars will have it up in a little while (and they'll have the clip up on Comedy Central tomorrow). It's definitely worth a watch.

Nobody does it like Jon and Steven!

user-pic

Jon Stewart kicked ass, indeed!

"So, if we don't count activists or black people, Hillary is winning!"

Devastatingly true.

user-pic

Seriously, I'm beginning to think Hillary's going to crash Obama's inauguration and challenge him to another debate...

Hillary Clinton doesn't have a Jeremiah Wright....

But she does has a Bill Clinton.

Boy, I hope they cleaned the carpets in the White House. LOrdy only knows where else Billdo left his DNA. I'm sure it wasn't just on one fat girl's blue dress.

user-pic

Please stop. We can defeat Clinton without the raging sexism.

user-pic

I have to agree, Phoebe. Please, Dave, let's keep this civil, OK?

You're not allowed to say 'fat girl'. It offends about 95% of the females that participate here.

user-pic

Dick.

I rest my case.

Freakin trolls.

I've hit my limit..... and civility went out the window with Clintonistas weeks ago.

A. Clinton probably does do better in a lot of key swing states. Maybe Obama inspires Democrats in solidly red states like Idaho and in places like Vermont, but it seems blazingly clear Clinton plays better in FL, OH and PA. It's legitimate for super-delegates to consider this.

B. Obama really has never accomplished much of anything on his own. Without affirmative action, it's a near certainty he'd never have made it to HLS, and unlike his classmates, he qualified automatically for the HLR, and his career as a community organizer fails to impress much, and he was a lawp prof for a while but without having to demonstrate any scholarly ability at all, even if he was a "popular" teacher. OK, and a few years in the IL statehouse and a couple of years in the Senate. Man, it's a thin resume, with no demonstrated ability under real-life conditions.

C. Obama has a fruitcake "spiritual mentor" who wears a clown costume and who says crazy ignorant shit. That ought to give you pause to think.

More silly season....Hey that fruitcake spiritual manager was also sought out by the Clintons during some of the Clinton Scandals.......Oops, they I go as an Obama supporter being negative by pointing out something true......

Mentor

(There)

There I go being negative pointing out a truth. I guess it would also be negative to point out that her campaign surrogate was talking up Farrakhan, you know the dude she asked Obama in a debate to explain his relationship with him....

Obama seems to be spending alot of $ "convincing"SDs. Like Claire McCatskill got a huge donation to her campaign awhile back. Obama has outspent Hillary like in the campaign there too, greasing the wheels of his supporters, like the esteemed gov from New Mexico, Bill Richardson. I wonder if he paid his pres. campaign bills after he dropped out.I wouldn't put it past him. Obama does have lots and lots of money maybe Oprah's

Hillary and Bill have allot of money......Silly Season!
