Obama Ad In Pennsylvania: He Doesn't Take Money From "Oil Company PACs Or Lobbyists"
Here's Obama's response to Hillary's ad yesterday accusing the Obama campaign of being misleading for saying he doesn't take money from "oil companies"...
The ad does sharpen his message here by stressing that Obama is the "only candidate who doesn't take a dime from oil company PACs or lobbyists."

LOL!
Come on, Buggeroff, are you flaming out so quickly?
Surely you meant "Oil companies are more productive than African Americans."
Racist.

Just click on his name and you can read all his
diatribes against African Americans.
He is one of those ANTs. Aryan Nation Trolls.

I'm glad I don't live in PA at this point. They must be really tired of this primary by now.
It's great to matter, isn't it, until you actually have to live through the bombardment of robo-calls, mailers, and TV ads.
April 16, 2008 11:15 AM | Reply | Permalink
Well some are, but there also is an excitement that for the first time in a long time our votes matter in a primary. I heard people that don't really follow the horse race talk about how they want to watch the debate tonight. I can understand people getting tired of the horse race and some are, yet there is still an excitement to finally be involved in the process.

That's great--about the interest in the debate. Wouldn't it be totally outrageous if more people watch the debate than American Idol?
I think I might actually have some hope for this country, were that to happen.
But then, I'm just an elitist out of touch snob living in Connecticut.

Actually I haven't gotten a single robo call or mailer, but I have seen and heard my share of radio and tv ads.

Did you see the JFK/RFK-esque downward looking Obama at the end of the ad, standing in front of the White House? Nice imagery.

Ahhhh, "Imagery": The foundation of Generation Obama.
All hat...

slap her lies down!

Her lies???? He was the one claiming not to take any money from oil companies as if he was special when NO candidate is allowed by law to take money from them.

Obviously, oil company PACs are what he's been talking about since the beginning, since as Hillary pointed out, corporations can't give directly to a campaign.

Speaking for myself, I certainly am. But I'm sick of Clinton, mostly. She panders to voters here with non-issues while ignoring concerns that are truly important. Her crime proposal - a BIG deal here in Philadelphia - is a joke. It's mere repetition of stuff that hasn't worked.
I've gotten nary a robocall because I only use a cell, but I've gotten three Obama mailers that have been 100% positive. Contrary to those that think Black people only support him because he's a brother, Senator Obama truly has earned my vote and Senator Clinton's truly lost mine. Perhaps forever.

Sigh, another lie. I posted he does take money from these groups yesterday. He just can't tell the truth.
The AFL-CIO endorsed Clinton because they know he is lying.

Use the google or look at yesterday's lying mailer post. You folks need to do your own research and you just might learn something.
Clinton has 36 point
lead in Kentucky
Wow.

I think you're confusing PACs with Individiduals.
Better do that research again, before Hillary goes down...
oh, too late!

This Gotalife is one of the weirdest trolls to ever show up here. One day he is urging people to support the ACLU, and the next day he is bragging about how popular Hillary is in Kentucky, the state where Civil Liberties go to die.

I don't think gotalife is a troll.
He's just a misguided Clinton supporter. I just hope he votes for Obama over McCain....

No, he's a troll. The guy hijacks threads in order to draw attention to himself. Classic troll behavior.
He seems to take this race awfully personally, but that to me is an act. The guy is only interested in getting people pissed off and talking about him. This will be the last time I do it.

AS A PA DEM, WHO HAS NEVER BEEN POLLED, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHO THEY ARE POLLING. WE HAVE 4 REGISTERED DEMS IN MY HOME, 3 OBAMITES, 1 hilLIARite. NO ONE HAS POLLED US. I FIND ALL THIS CAMPAIGNING IS STARTING TO SOUND LIKE YOUR NEIGHBOR'S CAR ALARM GOING OFF REPEATEDLY AT 3 A.M. CAN'T WAIT UNTIL IT IS OVER. I WAS DISAPPOINTED (UNDERSTATEMENT) IN '00, DEVASTATED IN '04. hilLIARy WILL NEVER BE PRESIDENT. IF MCSAME WINS, THERE IS A MEMORY LAPSE SOMEWHERE. First of all, it's an attack ad. Second, he does take money from big oil, just not directly. So it undermines his attack on Hillary in the ad because he is distorting the truth by not mentioning where he DOES get big money from big oil.
But do you notice here his typical approach. He attacks, while saying he is just defending himself. His negativity is always blamed on Hillary. That is what I call politics as usual.
April 16, 2008 12:58 PM | Reply | Permalink
It's not a negative ad. He's drawing distinction between his position and hers. If he just let her define the terms of the debate with her blatantly negative ads, then where would he be? Come on. Just because you don't like the guy doesn't mean that he's not allowed to assert his positions on the issues and tell the voters how they differ from Clinton's. Is anything he said incorrect?
And didn't Clintonites spend all last week - and Clinton herself released an ad - saying that you literally CAN'T take money from Big Oil?
And considering Hillary's spent months attacking the guy, this back-and-forth HAS become politics as usual.

I'm dizzy from the battle of the ads. Well--at least Obama's keeping up with Clinton. I hope he doesn't blow through all his money in PA because Clinton is showing no sign of dropping out. It's gonna be a long six weeks. I'm dizzy and bitter.
