New Hillary Ad In Indiana: She'll Oppose Unfair Trade Deals
Hillary Clinton has a new ad in Indiana featuring popular Sen. Evan Bayh, who declares that Hillary will have "a spine of steel" in fighting for the state's workers:
Interestingly, Bayh promises that Hillary will fight against unfair trade deals — a sign of just how off-message Mark Penn was in his dealings with the Colombian government. It's not clear whether this ad was taped before or after the Penn story hit.

I think this is a tense issue. Grammatically speaking.
"A spine of steel" is present.
"A stolen spine" would be past, yes?
Then, for Hillary, it should be past tense. And, like O.J., we should be looking for the culprit.

The incriminating part of this story is the description of the client of the lobbying firm who was "panicked" over the news that Penn has been fired from the Clinton campaign. And the purpose of the call seems to have been to reassure everyone that he'll still be advising her. Hmm. It sort of sounds like their clients hired the firm because they thought it would give them influence over a potential POTUS or, at the very least, a powerful NY senator and if he loses her ear they'll lose that business.

Once again, Clinton leads on this issue and Obama follows her lead.
Her position is no free trade deals until the trade policy is changed.
Her position is to boycott the opening ceremonies of the Olympics.
What is Obama's position? He always waits for the leader's decision. That is not leadership.
See, she is the leader and he is the follower.
Clinton/Obama, if you do not want to lose three in a row.

Gotalife leads us on a delightful Reel around the Fountain in a heartwarming musical number, each step building to a glorious crescendo of Sparkling Cognitive Dissonance that is truly breathtaking to behold. As the music swells, he takes the audience by their collective hand and beckons to the dance, if only to remind us all that try as they might, they'll never really Put Baby in the Corner. Bravo!

Mark Penn wasn't off message. He was doing exactly what he was hired to do, from both sides.
Had the primary been over by Feb 5th, no one would have noticed.

It's going to be quite difficult for Sen. Clinton to overcome the damage putting Mark Penn in charge of her campaign has caused to her image with unions. Obviously - there goes a big part of her base.
And that's what I kept saying about the people she had around her - I knew if she didn't do herself in, they'd do it for her.
[shakes head]
Not even any plausible deniability. Didn't she learn a thing from Bill?

A spine of Jello is more like it. Actions talks and BS walks.
Until Hillary addresses the fact that she has a BIg Time Lobbyist in her midst that is fighting the a Union position, this is add is the height of hypocracy. IF she can not deal with lobbyist now who have been running her campaign, how can any one trust her once she has won the presidency?
Sad to see Evan Bayh get blind sided like this. At one time I thought he was a new democritic leader that could talk beyond the partisan divide - now he just looks tone deaf.

Clinton Hospital Story May Actually Be True:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/07/clinton-hospital-story-ma_n_95493.html
Another trend like Obama's failed leadership.
Accused of lying, proof she told the truth or she admits mistakes.
Her leadership to boycott the opening ceremonies is playing out well.
Where is the follower Obama's position.

And Sen. Clinton might actually be a robot that's programmed not to only come *so* close to telling the truth.
I mean, nobody can prove that any number of ridiculous stories didn't happen, but that doesn't mean that campaign speeches should be filled with ridiculous stories.
Besides, you missed the point. The point is not that the story is probably not true.
The point is that the story is implausible, and that by not checking it, the wonk-in-chief and truth-telling candidate Sen. Clinton has failed on her own touted strengths.

I admire your steadfast dedication to your candidate. Nothing wrong with supporting your POV. While most people here, including myself, seem to be leaning obama's way, you defy the tide and stick with your fighter, math be damned! Despite this, your messages would be much more convincing if you changed your avatar. It makes you seem as if you're anti-obama and going for hillary, not b/c she's Hillary, but b/c she's not Obama. you dig?

The Deputy Sheriff that told Hillary the story, had no first hand knowledge of any of it, and did not even know the woman who died. He was passing on hearsay, and Hillary just ran with it.
Yes we need to fix the health care system, but we also need to deal in facts.
Was the woman turned away because she did not have a $100.00 or not. What is the truth.
If she did not go, because she assumed she would be turned away because she did not have a $100.00 then that is a far different thing. Is that what happened.
What is her family situation. Did she have other children. She was 35 years of age. Did she have a husband, or was there a father involved. Could she not get $100.00 from any family member or friend for a medical emergency.
Please flesh out the truth, instead of pretending that Hillary was spreading the gospel truth. She was not.
She was telling a bunch of hearsay from a person she never met before, and who did not have any first hand knowledge of what actually happened.
Hillary was very careless in how she choose to accept what a stranger told her, and just run with it.
What next, will she run with a story about a woman finding a finger in her chili at Wendy's!

Well, Shultz is showing spine by staying with his McCain is a warmonger comment even though Obama tossed him under the bus like Grandma. Caving to McCain's demand is spineless.
Clinton is showing spine by getting the troops an exit stategy and wants them out of there. Then shows spine on leading for new trade policies.
Then she is showing to spine to China and sending them a message about their support of the genocide in Darfur and Tibet.
Where is Obama's spine?
Good luck finding it.

To be fair, I must first commend Clinton for sticking with positive advertising. I do appreciate that she's communicating a positive message.
Unfortunately, it's a positively bullshit.
Hillary Clinton - Standing up for workers rights while funneling millions of dollars to union-buster Mark Penn.

If you're a lowly paid worker sending her campaign $50 monthly, knowing that she made 109 million in 7 years and knowing that the largest line item on her campaign budget is paying Mark Penn, who is also taking 300,000 from a foreign government in a deal that could cost you your job, I don't understand why you would trust and support Hillary.

Fighting unfair trade deals? Spine of Steel? lol
The Clinton campagin gets more comical everyday. I just want to thank her for continuing to try and build a case on quicksand. The more she points out these absurd claims...the more ridiculous she looks.
She did not fight NAFTA...she CLAIMS to have been against it, yet she supported and rallied for it in meetings and she her support for it has been clearly documented. But we're supposed to take her word for it and not what the evidence clearly shows?
She maligned Obama for his unpaid economic advisor for making a few offhand comments about NAFTA that were misinterpreted by an idiot official...only to have her own Chief Strategist that has received 10% of her donations meet with the Colombian Government on a paid assignment to lobby for a free trade agreement. Now that is comedy. The only people still falling for her crap are not paying attention or they are just crazy (like one seriously disturbed poster on this site who has nothing better to do than to spread lies all day).

and you know she'll oppose unfair trade deals because she said so.
just like she said she opposed nafta. just like she said she was under sniper fire. just like she said a woman was turned away from a hospital and died because she didn't have 100 dollars. just like she said michigan "wasn't going to count for anything". just like she said she was against the iraq war even though she voted for it..
get it yet?
