Hillary And Obama To Debate In North Carolina
Get ready for Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to debate in North Carolina. The Hillary campaign just announced via press release that she's accepted an invitation to debate in the state on April 27, on CBS.
Obama had previously challenged her to a North Carolina CBS debate, at the same time as he accepted her challenge to meet in Philadelphia, but apparently it was held up until the proposed meeting could be rescheduled. The new date would put the debate after the Pennsylvania primary, with Hillary likely to have just won a big contest and be heading into the debate with some momentum.

A big contest? Eric, do you even realize that if Clinton wins by 10 points, that she only nets 8 additional delegates on top of Barack Obama's delegate lead of 169 delegates?

Wow, really? That seems easily erasable in, say, NC.

That's precisely my point. PA isn't going to be the win Clinton needs in terms of the delegate race.

I'm betting that it is not going to be a win for her at all.

You guys care for some cheese with that whine? Eric told you to get ready for the N.C. debate, not start whining about it. And he didn't ask you to start spinning PA before Obama loses it. If you want to stay around this blog, you better stop whining.

Eric says, "The new date would put the debate after the Pennsylvania primary, with Hillary likely to have just won a big contest and be heading into the debate with some momentum."
Wow, okay Eric.
Keep hope alive, I guess.

Eric, have you been paying attention to the polls lately at all? What makes you think it is likely that she will win and come in with Momentum. Insider Advantage has her up 2, Rasmussen has her up 5, and PPP has Obama up 2. So I think it would be unwise of you political analysts to constantly say she has this wrapped up...but go ahead, it does nothing but raise expectations for Clinton and lower them for Obama.

Here's a F*cking idea to report on TPM:
WHERE ARE CLINTON'S UNREDACTED TAX RETURNS?
WHERE ARE HER DONOR LISTS?
Nah, nevermind, lets f*cking talk about Wright and Rezko some more. And let's go ahead and post every single Clinton campaign memo that gets sent. Very interesting...

Let's translate this quote into something not resembling utter nonsense:
The new date would put the debate after the Pennsylvania primary, with Hillary likely to be suffering from a continued loss of superdelegate support. Her narrow win in Pennsylvania will leave her heading into the debate with a lack of momentum, money, and support.

Yay, the issues. She crushes him in all debates.
She is speaking now on CNN answering all the distractions from the issues.

Yes, she is great in debates. Like all those times she failed to explain how she would enforce mandates in her health plan.
Masterful!

Can Obama win?
I take back all those kind words I wrote about Senator Clinton earlier (from Ben Smith):
Two cute, by a half.

I'm not going to get pissy, but really, I wouldn't say any kind of "big win" or momentum is likely at this point. It looks like best case scenario for her is a single digit win in a state she been ahead by 20% in just weeks before, a state that is supposedly tailor made for her.
And at the rate Obama is rising, a win for him is definitely possible. And regardless, his win in NC will completely wipe the PA results off the board, both in terms of delegates and "momentum".
So no big win, and no momentum.

Eric's right. It doesn't matter that Hillary has been leading in PA by 20 points. As long as she wins at all, the media will spin it as a huge win and that she's made an amazing comeback.
This is an indictment on the utter worthlessness of the media.

I'd say it's an indictment of the utter uselessness of polls! Still, a man hears what he wants to hear, and disregards the rest.

Yeah, not so sure about the 'big win' bit either. InsiderAdvantage just released a poll that shows Clinton up by only 3pts. One poll, maybe two are outliers but this is the 3rd poll in a row that shows Clinton 5pts or less (or Obama winning).
Still, I think Eric is correct that she wanted the debate after PA.

The reaction to this piece seems a bit strong. Pen is the largest state remaining, and in that sense it would be a “big contest” win. The margin will, most likely, be narrowly for Clinton. The MSM will spin it as CLINTON STRIKES BACK, or HERE COMES THE CLINTON COMEBACK KID! The Clinton camp will talk about how they were outspent, and put forth the notion that BO can’t close the deal. This will lend momentum. We’ve seen it before… and yes I may actually be driven to gouge my eyes out, and smash my TV with a hammer alongside the rest of you.

How about a more pleasant outcome? Obama continues to creep up in the polls, and on election day, Obama takes Pennsylvania! Hillary, seeing the inevitable writing on the wall, graciously concedes, bows out of the race and pledges her support to our Democratic Presidential Nominee, Barack Obama.
That's right.

Actually all this talk of a big win in PA is EXACTLY what I want to see out there. I want to see it everywhere. "Hillary is going to win PA and win it HUGE." Encourage it everywhere you go. Anything in the single digits is a victory for Obama - don't forget it. She wins by less than 15% and she hasn't met expectations.
Yes, the polls are closing but three weeks is an eternity and we can't let the goalposts be moved again.

Do not ask Senator Clinton any first questions. I am warning you, because she will go all Heroine of Tuzla on your Obama favoring arses.
You debate moderators have so outraged Senator Clinton with all your first questions that she had decided that once sworn in she will never hold any press conferences, unless you can figure out a way to always ask her second.
Perhaps you can ask the first questions of Monica or Socks or Road Kill.

C'mon, everyone, ease up on Eric. I'm sure he meant Clinton would be claiming momentum. We've all been fed so much crap by the Clinton campaign, we can't tell the difference betrween the crap and the information.

Praise the Lord. Katie gets her own Debate!
So we get to see Hillary kick his ass again on the issues. Of course, that is all fine and good but she is running a race baiting campaign. She doesn't have near the ability of her opponent in bringing the country "together". Anyway, this isn't for a place on the debate team this is for President and style COUNTS.
