GOP Putting Big Money On Anti-Obama Ads
The Republicans have been sharpening their message against Barack Obama with $500,000 in new ads in the ongoing special House elections in Mississippi and Louisiana -- a stark contrast to the old days when Hillary Clinton was the boogeyman of Republican advertising.
Here's the NRCC's ad in the contested Louisiana special election:
"I think he's the weaker candidate, and I've thought that for over a year now," said NRCC Chairman Tom Cole. "He's very inexperienced. He is by any definition liberal and to the left of Hillary Clinton, and he will give us plenty of ideological divisions to work with."

Exploit those "differences" Republicans. Please.
That's all you need to do and people all over the country will say:
"Ok."
The more differences between us and them - us and the Republicans the better. I don't want to hear any of those "there isn't a dime's worth of difference" arguments this time around.
Give em a choice and they will come with us.

Yeah, I saw this about 6 days ago - the GOP is lame.

Did you see it on TV, then?
I think it's lame, but I know where they are coming from with this and from all the shit the Republicans have been frantically sending to my husband to try to get him back. (He's totally disgusted and has totally repudiated and rejected the Republicans from now on - I've never heard him go off on politics like he has lately. He's had it with the Republicans - utterly.)
But anyway - the big argument in every thing they are sending out is: Are you scared of Nancy Pelosi (and boy are they trying to turn her into a boogey man) and the tax and spend liberals in Congress?
Well, considering how badly the Republicans broke the economy, that's going to be one hard sell.

Heh. Their concern trolling is even more transparent than the stuff we see around here.

Right - Obama is the weaker candidate, which is why the GOP is doing everything it can to defeat him and get Hillary nominated...

By that logic, the Dems will never run an ad linking McCain to Bush. They will only link him to strong Republicns.
Obama is going to get creamed, because unlike you 'bots the grown-ups actually have attention spans greater than 5 minutes. They're paying attention to the entire contest, not just the little American Idol/Hannah Montana-style snippets.
Obama is weak. He got a break during the early honeymoon period, but it's out there now. And as much as you put your heads in the sand, you can't make it go away.

Yeah, and you are the same as Bush, so who do we think will be more welcomed by the electorate?
Exactly.

Unlike the press and TPM, the Republicans can do the arithmetic and realize that Hillary is toast.

Boy talk about reversing where we've been!
We've accused the Republicans of living in a fantasy land for 8 years.
They sure got to turn that argument on us.
LOL!

Too true. This ad does Obama an honor by recognizing his position in the center of the Democratic party.

But I have been way amused this entire campaign so far at the Republicans. For awhile the were calling here for Mr. Tena and I got to laugh right in their faces.
The best was the day Newt Gingrich's office called here for Mr. Tena. I have never laughed so hard in anyone's face in my life.

INQUIRY: Where are the Republicans getting the money for these ads from?
There is the story . . .

Good point.
That's one reason I really am so tired of seeing our candidate attacked from two directions. Hillary has managed to help the Republicans eke more out of their short funds than they otherwise would have been able to.

oh Obamas another W.
speaking of NC, a state I unfortunately know all too well because I have relatives who live there, it's almost as nasty a place as Indiana. Ever see the movie Deliverance? Bunch of dumb hicks.
But I still respect a dumb hick more than I respect that slimey weazel Edwards. It speaks well of Obama and Clinton that neither was willing to pay whatever his price is. so far anyway.
Although I am 100% sure if he had a choice between having his dumbass son back alive, or being President for a day even, he'd pick the latter in a heartbeat. I'm equally sure he'd pick being Prez over a cure for cancer.

Is the Republican-owned Media trying to Sabotage Barack Obama's campaign? Why else would they give a "retired" Rev. Wright all that Air time by blocking out all three Cable News Channels to air Rev. Wright's 45 minute speech at the National Press Club, LIKE HE IS THE PRESIDENT OR SOMEONE, something they do not even do for the Candidates themselves, John McCain, Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, block out 45 minutes of air time to air their stump speeches!
Are Repbublicans trying to help Hillary win the Democratic nominee? Are they hoping to win the White House with the help of African-Americans turned off by the Clintons' "kitchen sink-strategy" directed at Barack Obama? Is that why McCain is so actively wooing them? These things have to be considered?
Let's be clear, the only Ones who have made Race an Issue in this campaign are the Clintons and the Republican-controlled media -- as from the start, Barack Obama has tried to transcend Race, but they will not let him as it would be to their disadvantage... They do not want a candidate who inspires hope, unity and change so they, and the Clintons -- the two-headed Giant --are trying to bring Obama down anyway they can! The Republicans for their own reason (they don't want change) and the Clintons for theirs (they want the nomination)! Either way it is a mighty battle and if they get their way, the People Lose!

Obama needs to drop out.

Why?
Because that will be the only way for Hillary / McCain to win?

That's about right. Noticed any recent Repub ads knocking Hillary? No crime syndicate - in this case the Washington 'establishment' - can tolerate anyone encroaching on its territory. Definitely time to 'off' Obama.

My web browser must be broke or something. Ever since Obama said on Fox that his relationship with Wright was a "legitimate political issue" I haven't been able to find any TPM pieces about the "Wright Over America" tour, or any reader comments attacking Hillary and the GOP for talking about Wright. I'll check for browser updates and reboot.

Prophetic move by the GOP. After that put on another ad out with Rev. Al Sharpton to scare white people.
Rev AL yesterday accused the Barrack (Barry) Obama of trying to "grandstand in front of white people." The Obama campaign is imploding.

Marginal, what does Republican operative Al Sharpton have to do with the Obama campaign?
April 29, 2008 12:30 PM | Reply | Permalink
asdf, no offense meant here - truly - but you don't get it, do you? Sharpton doesn't need to have anything to do with Obama. Unless he's come around recently, Sharpton really doesn't like Obama.
As disgusting a thought as it is, though, THINK LIKE A REPUBLICAN for a minute. They don't give a crap whether Obama and Sharpton hate each other or have some sort of love thing going on. They'll trash Obama by innuendo. Their message doesn't have to be truthful, all it has to do is sound good and be wrapped in the flag. That has been their method for over a quarter century now, and unfortunately it's been effective.
If you think Sharpton has nothing to do with Obama you're only kidding yourself. It isn't right, asdf, but it's the reality of what those people are going to do to Obama. He - and all of you - had better be ready for it.
