Dems Out-Raising Republicans In Key House Races

In a further indication that the House Democrats are going into this cycle in much better shape for the general election than their GOP counterparts, the Democratic candidates have more money on hand in about two thirds of the key races, ranging from Dem-held seats picked up in 2006 to newly-targeted seats this cycle.

For example, Democratic challengers have more than the Republican incumbents in four cases: Reps. Tim Walberg (R-MI), Randy Kuhl (R-NY), Jean Schmidt (R-OH) and Dave Reichert (R-WA). And also in nine open Republican-held seats, the Democratic candidates have out-raised the GOPers aiming to hold on to those seats.

Gotta love the fact that my guy (Kuhl) is getting stomped by Eric Massa. For anyone that doesn't know him, he's a phenomenal guy, retired navy, cancer survivor, rattles off policy details like they're his kids names. Check him out if you get a chance!

one thought about PA. Remember the 9-11 flight that went down in PA, and the "heroes" who said "let's roll" blahblahblah. some heroes, a bunch of guys manage to overpower two skinny Arabs armed with box cutters. Man, if that is how Americans define "heroism," then you guys are f****ed long-term. Imagine reading that two Americans armed with pocket knives were overwhelmed by a mob of Arabs, I bet you wouldn't call the Arab mob "heroes."

The fundraising numbers in one of the key Alabama races were quite good too: AL-03. The four term incumbent Mike Rogers (R) raised $104K in the first quarter, while the challenger Josh Segall (D) raised $273K. Another great pickup opportunity in a district that has only been in Republican hands for a few terms.

This is actually a race where Obama's coattails could really help - I need to check for sure, but I think the African American population in AL-3 is around 40%.

Crazy Jean Schmidt? Could we possibly get rid of her? She's dumber than an entire cargo ship hold full of rocks and mean and a liar - o I'd love to get rid of that harpy.

Howard Dean is the best thing that's happened to the Democratic Party and American politics in decades! The man deserves all the accolades and credit that can be heaped on him. I pray that President Obama appoints him to a position in his administration where his intelligence, passion and leadership effectiveness can continue to serve the best interests of Americans and our democracy. There aren't enough words to thank Howard Dean sufficiently, but THANK YOU HOWARD DEAN!
