Zogby: Obama Just Slightly Ahead Of Hillary, Both Trail McCain

A new Zogby poll this morning shows Barack Obama ahead of Hillary Clinton nationally by a 47%-44% margin, a much tighter margin than his 52%-38% lead in their poll released on February 20, in the middle of his February sweep.

John McCain has also shot ahead of Obama since the last poll, and continues to lead Hillary Clinton, thanks in part to the continuing disorder of the Democratic race:

McCain (R) 46%, Obama (D) 40%
McCain (R) 48%, Clinton (D) 40%

Isn’t it possible that these results are due to the disorder in Zogby polling process rather than the disorder of the Democratic race?

The March 13-14 poll surveyed 525 likely Democratic primary voters for the matchup between Clinton and Obama. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.

The poll I'm interested in is one taken after Obama's speech, McCain's gaffe, and Hillary's... what has she been up to other than complaining about the democratic process lately?

Given Zogby's track record this primary season....

I agree, Publicus, Zogby's polls lately are the rough equivalent of the guy who picks the underdog in every football game to win by 14 points.

this polling was done before the pastor flap was posted all over the networks! u can bet his number will go down more

It's ZOGBY, even if the numbers sound correct, it's ZOGBY...a proven track record of getting polls wrong.

Oh my God, the sky is falling, the sky is falling. Well, at least this poll supports that obama is more competative with mccain by 2%. When will the clintons drop out? This is absurd.

And now Jack Murtha has endorsed Hillary yesterday.

These polls are absolutely meaningless now. They are point in time.

To take a poll about people's feelings about Obama's speech would be fine, but a GE poll now? Forget it.

In another month or so, the Dem race will be settled. Then we go into the summer-- relative quiet time.

Finally, at the end of the summer come the conventions where the candidates are TOTALLY reintroduced to the public. All the polls taken now get tossed into the toilet where they belong...

Rasmussen just showed Obama with a 5pt lead over Clinton.

Zogby?

Puh-leez.

Can we just not listen to that guy anymore? Because he doesn't know what he's doing. His polling methods are flawed, he's been wrong more often than not, and we're still listening to him!?

Dude showed Obama ahead of Hillary in Ohio in the run-up to the primary. I'm for Obama, I live in Ohio, and even I wasn't buying that.

Sorry, I'm done with Zogby. So he got Missouri right - even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

I can't believe anyone is quoting Zogby these days. I also like the way he pops up weeks after his huge polling errors. Who are his customers these days?
