Wright Speaking Engagements Cancelled, Security Cited As Concern
Barack Obama has been trying to put the Jeremiah Wright controversy behind him, but Wright himself is having some trouble doing the same — thanks to the media limelight he's faced, he's now had to cancel two separate, high-profile speaking engagements.
A Wright speech planned for last night in Tampa was axed, plus another event for this Sunday in Houston. In the case of the Houston appearance, security concerns were openly cited as the reason for the cancellation.

I hope the insanities, lushes and coooters are happy now. Good job guys. Also, thanks clinton for just stirring up the pot some more. Good Job. I hope that nothing happens to wright now. How sad and pathetic.

Oh really? I hope that the good Rev Wright gets tossed in Jail for slamming the Clintons from the Pulpit. It is my understanding that politics are not to be discussed if you are claiming tax exempt status. Deport this Rev Wright to Taliban country so he can fit in with those who want to scream God Damn America.

You friggin losers put up an insufferable bore that managed to get beaten by an man who was obviously an idiot (thanks Donna!), then you losers put up a fucking loser who loses to an obvious idiot who get your country into a disasterous war (thanks Iowa!) and now your gonna put up Obama, who might win, and he'll finish the job W started of fucking up the US (of KKK A!).

Thanks Senator Clinton and minions. Next time the Senator prays next to "Man on Dog Sex" Santorum, she can thank God for sending her such a juicy story to deflect criticism.
Time to leave Hillaryland..... If we can avoid the inclong sniper fire. (Sorry. But I am really cross this morning).

Another example of TPM propagating the Wright stuff for no reason. NO one wants to know this shit.
TPM = Clinton Campaign surrogate.

Fruitcake Rev?
Interesting. I got an email this morning from the office of Chris Bell, Democrat who is running for gov of Texas.
It was an email in support of Barack Obama and his pastor.
I suspect those went out to registered democrats all over Texas.
So get this straight - this isn't playing well with Democrats.

Jimmy, I don't think that's it. No one's saying OHMYGOD WRIGHT IS TEH KRAZEEE. This is, in fact, a legitimate and important story--the demonizing of him, the selective videotaping, making him look like an angry black man who hates america and whitey has resulted in threats to his life. And are you surprised?
This stuff has consequences.

I'm pro-Obama and don't see how you can read TPM and think they are pro-Clinton; that is extreme paranoia! Just look at the photos they run of the 2 candidates--Hillary always looks like a nightmare and Obama almost always looks great. I think the guys have even said they are rooting for Obama, but regardless, they are just reporting what's out there. If you want to see bias, just look at the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, online or hard copy. They even manage to make Maureen Dowd's columns look pro-Clinton by the way they headline them.
Regarding this Wright cancellation, I'm reading comments on other websites like the NYT and can't believe the number of people who are convinced that Obama is behind this cancellation, that he's planning to "muzzle" Wright until after the election. That's not only paranoid, it's stupid! I'm sure Wright was planning a great talk, with absolutely nothing that could be construed as anti-American or racist, like most of the thousands of talks and sermons he has given over a long, distinguished career. It could have mitigated some of his bad press, but now he's unable to do it.

Becky, do not blame JimmyHoffa2222 for thinking this is a pro Hillary Blog the Media and the Left blogs attack the Clinton campaign no matter what it does while ignoring or defending every negative attack and questionable tactic of the Obama campaign. Jimmy is just shocked that TMP is fair enough to allow opposing viewpoints. Many other blogs refuse to allow Hillary supporters to provide opposing viewpoints.
Obama allows his young daughters attend Rev Wright's church. Hate is taught. Are Wright's hate-filled sermons something he thought it was okay for them to hear and learn? Why subject your children to the politics of hate?

My guess is that you've never been to a UCC church. Most of them have children's rooms and/or a Sunday school for all kids. Kids rarely hear the sermon.

It would be hard to believe that Obama's daughters ever heard more hate from Wright than I've heard from you. He's an 80 year old guy and you trolls be you Rovians or Clintonians, who can tell anymore, would run over him with a bus just for the hell of it.

The Clintons have made a huge error here - they are just pissing people off.
Except their supporters, who are hell-bent on seeing her elected even if it destroys the Democratic party and throws the election. And right now, that's just how it looks to a lot of people.
It's obscene. This kind of attack is the lowest of the low.

Uh gee Tena, I disagree.
Everyone knows that Barack Obama blocked revotes in Florida and Michigan. No one outside of Michigan and Florida seems to care. Let me put it bluntly, the dirtiest politics practiced in this campaign was Barack Obama's blocking of the Michigan and Florida revotes. There is nothing uglier in politics, nothing dirtier, than blocking voters' chances to vote. The stain on Barack Obama for this will not wash away with me. (BTW, I am not saying Clinton would not have done the same thing, I THINK she would have. But she did not.) Especially since I believe it would have helped Obama in the general election. The Clinton campaign realizes that no matter what they do, they will be declared evil. They realize that no matter what Obama does, he will be declared a saint. In such an environment, both the Clinton campaign and the Obama campaign will feel no restraint to their behavior.
The Media and some of the Left blogs have created this climate. Pols are pols and do what they do. I expect nothing else from them. I once expected honest assessments from some in the Media and from most in the Left blogs. I no longer do. Clearly neither do the campaigns.
If the headlines and coverage do not change no matter what is done by the campaigns, then you can not expect the headlines and coverage to matter to the campaigns in terms of tactics. For all those in the Media and in the Left blogs deploring the negativity of the campaign, I suggest they look in the mirror for the main culprits

One must seriously question the Obama's both Barack and Michelle's judgement to allow their young daughters to attend this church. Hate is taught. Are Wright's hate-filled sermons something he thought it was okay for them to hear and learn? Why subject your children to the politics of hate? As Olbermann likes to say-
Obama and Michelle WORST parents of the Year!

if you live in New York State consider calling Senator Clinton and -- as a constituent - -remind her of the separation of church and state. She has no business weighing in on where people should or should not go to church.

I thought someone asked her a question and she responded. It is indeed very troubling that a man wanting to be president would attend such a Church of Hate for 20 years. I mean even Oprah left this wingnut's Church and she is not running for office.
