Texas Dems Refuse Hillary Campaign Request, Won't Postpone District Conventions

The Texas Democratic Party has announced that their district conventions, the second step in the caucus process, will not be delayed as requested by the Hillary Clinton campaign, and will proceed as scheduled on March 29.

The Hillary campaign had asked that the conventions be postponed in order to double-check the eligibility of the more than one-million caucus participants, and potentially discard the votes of people who might have been found to be ineligible. Hillary won the Texas primary by a four-delegate margin, while Barack Obama won the caucuses by more than that, though the numbers aren't known yet with total certainty.

The statement by the Texas Dems practically ridiculed the Hillary campaign: "The Texas Democratic Party will not do as suggested by one campaign and circumvent party rules to set up an unnecessary, ad hoc 'verification' process that could effectively disqualify delegates selected at their precinct conventions after the fact."

Well, I made a comment yesterday that this wasn't a post and now it is. Sorry.

On another note, why are the clintons soooooo republican and trying to prevent people's votes from counting. They filed suit in nevada and wanted to prevent iowa students from voting. WTF. They are running in the wrong primary. They sure aren't dems. Disgusting.

In other words... Hillary Clinton, Don't Mess With Texas.

Uh oh, Texas is dangerously close to the edge of not counting. They could Texas two-step right off that cliff if they're not careful.

Maybe they can uh, file a motion to verify the rejection of their previous motion?

Or, or, file a motion to reject the rejection of their previous motion.

Ok, or how about a writ of certiorari to the US Supremes? They gave the king the presidency. The least they can do is give the texas caucuses to the clintons.

In the immortal words of Rick James:

'F#@k yo couch!! Buy another one you rich motha F#@ka!'

What is a little voter supression to the Republican Party . . . You'd think that the Party would be falling over itself to accomodate Her Royale Crownship . . . Too bad Clinton registered to run as a Democrat.

Mrs "Change the rules cuz I might lose or I'll cry" needs to make the logical change and finish going to the dark-side.

Going to the dark-side? The clintons are already there. They are the manchurian republican candidates for the dem nomination. Disgusting.

Wait a second...

I thought Hillary 'won' Texas?

This is why I've always thought Clinton = Bush.

Policy positions don't matter when secrecy and loyalty hold more value than competence.

Don't forget Hillary's lawsuit fighting caucuses in casinos in NV...

She didn't seem to care much about disenfranchising MI and FL until she was losing.

Manipulating the rules mid-game has about as much appeal to me as playing Texas hold 'em with my 7 yr old, I'd rather play by myself.

To the children posters: There are reports that the obama cult members were engaging in less than savory tactics during the caucuses like locking clinton supporters out and telling them that their caucuses were at a different location. Dont forget we are one party and each time one of us attacks obama or clinton its a win for the republicans. Take the long view folks not all democrats support obama and that distinction should not lessen ones respect for the other.

Sonia,

It's never fun being on the losing or dishonest end of things. But to say that obama and his supporters are engaging in lockouts or scare tactics of caucus voters is a stretch. Well yeah if you listen to Taylor Marsh and her ilk yes you would almost believe that Obama was Atwater reincarnated. But all of her vegas caucus claims have been investigated and refuted sometime ago.

"From Salon:

Still, despite Huerta's claim of widespread voter intimidation by the CWU, I haven't found another documented story like Antuna's. Matt DeFalco says at Paris, the union is only helping Obama supporters register to vote and get time off work. He says he distributed Clinton leaflets in the Paris cafeteria after the Antuna incident "and people were like, 'are you seriously passing those out here right now?' People are being intimidated into voting for Obama." But Mishak says he's investigated every voter intimidation claim "the Clinton campaign has been pushing" and that nothing, except perhaps Antuna's, deserves the term "intimidation." He adds: "It's surprising to me that people would be surprised a union would be saying to its members, 'You have to endorse our candidate. We need to win.'"

Democrats, wake up. The Clinton Campaign is a mirror image of the typical GOP, win by any trickery necessary. How can anyone have any respect left for this candidacy? Sue, smear, distort, seat delegates from invalid elections, what is next? If we want a better country, we have to demand better than this to lead us.
