You know as a Minnesotan, I am always saddened when I see Coleman as our Senator. Not because he is a Republican, but because it reminds me of Senator Wellstone's death. I have never been so passionate about a political candidate since Wellstone and I miss him.

Franken, also, so far has done little for me. It's early yet and I'll support him if he is the nominee, but I still think of what once was.

I miss you, Paul.

Al Franken, really? I'm as liberal as them come, but I can't stand Franken.

I listened to Franken's show on Air America, and was pleasantly surprised. The guy knows his stuff, and like him or not, he has a hell of a lot of heart for the people of MN, and deep compassion for people all over the world. No one can measure up to Wellstone, but Franken always got emotional on the anniversary of his death. I believe he will be a fighter.

I liked Wellstone. He was one of the good guys. He was an ineffective senator, though. Unless Franken turns out to be DLC democrat, he should be a vast improvement over Wellstone.

Let's hope Franken can pull this off. He's not very good at succinctly answering questions. I trust he can make up for it with his wit. It should be an entertaining election to follow.

The sooner Franken can campaign on Norm Coleman's record and close ties to Bush, the better. Coleman is basking in the "Surge is Working" myth that is currently being promoted by the administration. Also as the economy worsens, Franken will have more ammunition to show Coleman's voting for corporate interests as opposed to helping Minnesotans.

For much of the public, the atrocities of the Stuart Smalley film cannot be forgotten nor forgiven.

This is Minnesota's chance to take the Jackass State title away from Connecticut! Go Gophers!

Polls are for the weak and the whores of the MSM. Anyone who backs a repub this november has got to be sweat'n.

Al will drink Coleman's blood! I can not WAIT to see the FOX losers head's explode at that signing in ceremony.

AL FTW! Up the Republic that was and may be again!

I find it interesting how different Coleman has been voting since Franken joined the race. I would like to think if he *gag* gets re-elected that he's had a genuine relapse into his Democratic roots, but I don't trust anyone from the GOP to recognize honesty let alone practice it.

Coleman will swing whichever way the wind is blowing in Minnesota; you'll see, he be running on the republican ticket as a progressive. Franken is sharp and committed to the left. I'd be proud to have Franken as the face of Minnesota.

I didn't like Al Franken on SNL years ago--I just didn't think he was that funny. My brother (who did like him on SNL) recommended his book "Lies and the big fat liars..." and I loved it. Then Air America came to San Francisco and I LOVED his show. He was so smart, so compassionate, so on top of the issues, had amazing guests, and he was FUNNY! I was so sad when he left radio--I really looked forward to his show every morning. No progressive radio host has filled that mix of funny, insightful, and need to know. I don't see how anyone from Minnesota could vote for Norm Coleman over Al Franken. It just doesn't make any sense. He may not BE Paul Wellstone, but he GETS who Paul Wellstone was and will be a similar type of politician. I wish he was running in California, I'd trade in Feinstein for him in a heartbeat. I really look forward to watching him on C-Span next year!

Mr. Conniptionfit and I were blessed to be able to go on the Air America Cruise last month. On morning as we were having breakfast we noticed the tee shirt the man at the next table was wearing, which said "Canadian Drinking Team". We laughed and commented to him, an a little round of chit chat ensued, and he told us that actually he's not Canadian, he's Minnesotan. So I asked the obvious question: "So, is Al Franken going to be your next Senator?" You would have thought that I'd shoved a red hot poker up his ass! I have never seen such a fast transformation from mild mannered suburban man, to uptight, raving right wing-nut! He then proceeded to treat us to a rant about how Al was a Joke, and somehow Jesse Ventura was all his fault (20 years ago, dude, get over it!), and how Garrison Kellior is a disgrace. But it was real suave, the way he wiped the spittle off his chin!
