Poll Shows Opposition To Hillary Winning Nomination Via Super-Delegates
A new USA Today/Gallup poll casts some doubt on the political viability of Hillary Clinton's strategy to secure the Democratic nomination via super-delegates. By a 55%-37% margin, Democratic and Dem-leaning respondents said it would be "flawed" and "unfair" if Obama were to win more elected delegates but see Hillary override him via the supers.
This opinion is held by 77% of Obama supporters — expected, because the question specifically posed him as the pledged-delegate winner — but also among 28% of Hillary's supporters. Almost two-thirds of independents said such an outcome would be unfair, and one-third of indies said they would vote Republican or stay home if it were to happen.

Ok, idiotic, it's your call!

The exact text of the question was:
I suspect you'd get different results if you instead asked:
.Note: I'm not saying that she will take more of the popular vote (I don't think she will), or that such a thing is even meaningful. I'm just pointing out that I'm sure some of the people who said it was unfair would feel differently if the situation were framed in that manner.

Well, the internals of this poll are good for obama. It was taken from the 14th to the 16th, after the wright stuff broke. Obama still has a 62% favorability rating and 33% unfavorable. Clinton has a 44% unfavorable rating.
On the indies in the post, I hate to say it, but its probably the same percentage of indies who would never vote for the clintons regardless of what happens. People, she cannot win the general election and the clintons' general election strategy will doom the democratic party in house, senate, and statehouse runs. Please wake up!!!!!!

"flawed" and "unfair" Don't you people realize that Hillary is doing us all a service? saving us from Obama by ripping the democratic party apart b/c Obama hasn't crossed the commander in chief "threshold". Which by threshold she means death defying trips to Kosovo with Sinbad and Sheryl Crow, making a speech in China (Just Words!), and lying about bringing peace to Northern Ireland.

This POLL casts some doubt? The doubt has been cast by the fact that Obama has a prohibitive lead!

Wait, 28% of Hillary supporters don't realize the only way she can win is by Superdelegates overturning the pledged delegate lead?
I say that, b/c surely if they knew that, then they wouldn't be supporting Hillary.

Not necessarily. There are several Hillary supporters here who are resigned to Obama winning the the nomination. You don't stop rooting for you team, even if it's the fourth quarter and you're down 222-0.

Neither can win without the superdelegates guys.
Can we all grow up and act like progressives? You know, fair, truthful, open minded?

This is actually a test for the Democratic Party. If we fail this test, it's going to be hard for me to support the party going forward.
Political parties regularly encounter these tests. Racial integration/segregation was one big test which the Democratic Party passed and the Republican Party failed. That doesn't mean that the GOP didn't gain by it, at least in the short-term. But they failed the test.
This is a test, too. Will the Democratic Party be the party of democracy, or the party of establishment political types who 'know best' what's good for us? Will it be the party of the future or the party of the past? Will it be inclusive or divisive? Will we work with political opponents on shared interests, or will America continue to be all about partisanship? Will we advance boldly and confidently, or retreat in fear and pessimism?
I hope the Democratic Party passes this test, I really do.
