Obama Advisers To Media Figures: Remember Provisional Ballots In Ohio!
Obama campaign advisers are privately urging the networks and media figures to consider, as they evaluate the incoming results, that in Ohio there are areas where as much as 15% of the vote is provisional ballots.
The Obama camp isn't urging the networks to hold off on calling the race, but is suggesting that media types keep this fact in mind as they navigate competing efforts by the campaigns to suggest that they're on the way to victory.
Obama campaign aides are arguing that media folks should keep in mind that the provisional ballots come in later, and that since those ballots come from African American areas, such as Cleveland, the earlier totals are likely to favor Hillary. They're saying that it would be disenfranchising to black voters to calculate the results before these provisional ballots are in.
In conversations with media figures, Obama aides are pointing out that the nets erroneously called Missouri for Hillary before the provisional ballots came in and were later forced to reverse the results when those ballots came in from the St. Louis area and put Obama over the top.

Yeah, but according to survey usa, who has been remarkably accurate in the exit polls compared to their own poll, Hillary wins the already voted vote.

She's going to win Ohio, it's pretty clear. I think the margins are really what are at issue. And, if I understand it, Cleveland is going to be all night since they count by hand.

Right, I think Hillary wants to jump the gun now and make the most of it, because her lead is actually likely to diminish in the final tally.
btw, Hillary's crowd at her speech is chanting "yes she can." lol. And apparently Hillary also campaigned on "change" in Ohio.
Changier by the minute.

Just called it for her in Ohio. Congratulations on holding on to your earlier commanding lead, Senator Clinton. Let's see how Texas unfolds.

Final margin will be important, but Clinton will obviously claim victory tonight, regardless of what happens in Texas.

She may "claim" whatever she wants, but it looks like Obama is actually going to be the winner in delegates.
I'm not surprised she won Ohio among registered Democrats like my relatives there. The problem is she would fare worse against McCain in the GE.

I wonder if Obama will now see the light and drop out of the race. He really shouldn't tear the party apart.

I have already mentioned my congratulations to Sen Clinton for her Rhode Island victory, but I think I will hold off yet regarding Ohio. I live in MO, so I know about CNN calling a state before the major metro areas have reported.

Please Hillary, for the good of the party, drop out this evening. You can't win. Please tell your supporters (in small words) that you can't win this fight. The math just doesn't add up.

I'm tired of you Dukakis types imposing your losing ways on the rest of us. I can go on and on but you get my drift. Go Hillary!

None of the votes in Houston have been counted yet.

Hillary's big win in Ohio keeps her in the race... for a time.
The question is, how long? To the convention? Will backdoor deals be made?
This is what I'm scared of.

Actually, it shouldn't. She needed to win Ohio and Texas by big margins to be competitive. At this point her campaign is clutching at straws.
She's still way behind Obama in delegates and unable to close the gap. Also, her final tally even in Ohio is likely to shrink due to votes being counted later in areas that favor Obama.
If she remains it would only be hoping to win on super delegates, which would split the party, drastically reduce Democratic and Indy turnout in the GE, and hand McCain the presidency.

Once again, Ohio proving to be worthless as far as states go. Like HRC said, "as Ohio goes so goes the Presidency."
Yes. Thanks Ohio, for 8 years of W. We can only hope that BO pushes back and wins over PA. Yes he has a nice delegate lead, but he needs to have it locked up before MI and FL really come into play. And the fact that HRC keeps flaunting those two states as "wins" is sickening.
