McCain Web Site Touts Support Of "Former" President George W. Bush

Some wishful thinking from the McCain camp? Check out how John McCain's list of supporters on his Web site describes the current -- we repeat, current -- president of the United States, George W. Bush...

Memo to McCain camp: We understand that Bush's ongoing presidency is a liability to your candidacy, and that you'd prefer it were a distant memory, but this kind of thing isn't going to help much...

I'm starting to like this McCain guy and the way he thinks.

Now if only someone would let me know whether or not he's passed some sort of threshold to become Commander and Chief.

Poor old Greg. Desperate to try and take the focus of Hillary/Spitzer Bimbo Eruption. Look at the silly piece of rubbish that Greg thinks will distract you all.

Does he know something about Bush's upcoming impeachment that we don't?

Maybe Dick Cheney is listed in the "Current U.S. President" category. That would be some straight talk!

Liam -- that is a truly terrific send-up of the bogus "bias" nonsense. Thanks for that -- made my day.

How about you post on Geraldine Ferraro's latest comment? That's something folks might be interested in reading about?

http://www.dailybreeze.com/lifeandculture/ci_8489268

Does Mrs. Ferraro even know that Senator Obama is as much a white person as he is a black person. His mother was a white woman. The Clinton Camp are still playing the race card.

If that was a prominent Obama supporter saying that about women instead of a Clinton supporter saying it about black people, it would be all over every blog in a matter of seconds. Just another example of the clear media bias in favor of Clinton. For all the talk about media bias from Clinton supporters, they can never point to any clear examples like this. All they can do is point out partisan commentators like Chris Matthews, as though that somehow proves some bias.

Does the constant braying from all quarters that HRC is only where she is because she's Bill's wife count?

I haven't heard Obama or any of his surrogates make a remark like that about Senator Clinton.

Even if they had, it's a ridiculous comparison. Even Mrs.Clinton herself would acknowledge that she's gotten a huge benefit from being married to a former President, the same way Dubya got a benefit from being the son of a former President.

Pointing that out is a far cry from suggesting that Obama only got where he is because he's black, which is terribly insulting to every African-American. The fact that Clinton and her supporters fail to see this is yet another example of how insensitive they are to the feelings of African-Americans.

Would Obama be getting 90% of the black vote if he were white?
Is it insulting to black Americans to point this little fact out?
And is it racist of them to vote by color?
Quite frankly who cares if black Americans choose to be insulted by the truth. Perhaps they need to work on that.
It is why I have contempt for the Obama campaign: they turned "fairy tale" into a racist slur as the opening salvo of their race war.
What two words, "aluminum tubes", did to demolish the BushCheney claims in Iraq, two other little words do to demolish the Obama wails of racism, racism. racism!
Obama's campaign does not transcend race it simply moves race to the epicenter of their campaign and erects no go fences all around.
What we are seeing is Duke LaCrosse writ large.
And before I hear the cries calling out HRC's gender based politics I say "So What?".
Obama's politics of grievance are no more attractive than any other and one does not render the other non-existent nor irrelevant.

But I tell you what: I will become a card carrying committed Obacan if one of his fans can provide a historical, linguistic, or logical justification for treating "fairy tale" as a racist slur.
Until Obama and his devotees can do that I will continue to view him as the grand and talented poseur he is rather than the 21st century Shaft.

That is definitely a very relevant topic that needs some much needed light. She's bringing up some issues that should be highlighted and openly discussed in a place like this now.

This election has turned into a battle for the heart and future of our party, and Geraldine Ferraro's comments need to be part of that discussion.

Your call Greg.

Can Hillery say something now. Read this from ABC News. CBS is reporting the same thing.

It Wasn't the Sex; Suspicious $$ Transfers Led to Spitzer
Officials Say Spitzer Is 'Client 9' in a Federal Complaint Against the Prostitution Ring
By BRIAN ROSS
March 10, 2008—

The federal investigation of a New York prostitution ring was triggered by Gov. Eliot Spitzer's suspicious money transfers, initially leading agents to believe Spitzer was hiding bribes, according to federal officials.

It was only months later that the IRS and the FBI determined that Spitzer wasn't hiding bribes but payments to a company called QAT, what prosecutors say is a prostitution operation operating under the name of the Emperors Club.

As recently as this past Valentine's Day, Feb. 13, Spitzer, who officials say is identified in a federal complaint as "Client 9," arranged for a prostitute "Kristen" to meet him in Washington, D.C.

The woman met Client 9 at the Mayflower Hotel, room 871, "for her tryst," according to the complaint. Client 9 also is alleged to have paid for the woman's train tickets, cab fare, mini bar and room service, travel time and hotel.

The suspicious financial activity was initially reported by a bank to the IRS which, under direction from the Justice Department, brought kin the FBI's Public Corruption Squad.

"We had no interest at all in the prostitution ring until the thing with Spitzer led us to learn about it," said one Justice Department official.

It's been fixed. It now reads:

U.S. PRESIDENTS
President George W. Bush
Former President George H.W. Bush
I do think it's telling though that McCain's top moneymakers (which I assume includes a lot of Lobbyists) still get higher billing than than Bush 41 and 43.

Damn, just when I thought McCain had done something I liked!

I'm one of the biggest Obama partisans out there, but the idea that Greg is manipulating the stories on TPM in order to favor Hillary is pretty ridiculous. He's the best thing about this site not named Josh Marshall.

That said, (and you had to know it was coming) David slammed Obama pretty hard earlier about not responding to Rep. King, so I think Obama's response, from earlier this afternoon, deserves its own post. I understand that things have probably been crazy around here because of the Spitzer story, though.

For me, the biggest headline farce of the day is:

Bush sends Cheney on Mideast Peace Mission.

Honestly, those clowns are beyond satire. They provide their own theater of the absurd.

Gotta love 2 losers supporting a loser

LOL, I just wish that it were true!

McCain Supporters include the D'Amato brothers, former U.S. Senators Alfonse and Alphonse from the State of New York. (near identical twins) LOL
