Gallup: Obama Holds On To Narrow Leads Against Hillary And McCain

Today's Gallup tracking poll shows that the Democratic race continues to be very tight in the national preference. Here are the numbers, compared to yesterday:

Obama 48% (+1)
Clinton 46% (+1)

Meanwhile, the two of them both narrowly edge out John McCain in general-election match-ups:

Obama (D) 46%, McCain (R) 44%
Clinton (D) 47%, McCain (R) 45%

Annnnd once again, Rasmussen has Obama holding fairly steady at Obama 48% to Clinton 41%.

But you keep just trotting out the numbers you like, Eric. We've got your back with the rest of the research.

I say it every time you post these numbers: NATIONAL POLLS ARE IRRELEVANT! 3/4 of the states have voted already!!!!

Daily tracking poll tracks daily polls! Film at 11.

And again there's more to this election than just the White House.

Obama does SIGNIFICANTLY better in districts and states where House and Senate candidates are running in tight races.

National polls don't matter for anything, not in the primary and not in the general. All I care about is state polls, and those show Obama doing a hell of a lot better against McCain than Hillary.

If you look at the aggregate state-level data it is clear that there is no way in hell Hillary could beat McCain in the general.

But Hillary leads with 100% of the vote wherever votes matter!!!!11!!

Would someone please refresh my recollection on which of the two Democrats has the higher persistent negative ratings, over the past several years, and they have not gone down this year. People with that type of voter approval ceiling have no chance in a national election.

Are you paying attention to that reality: Super Delegates.

Hillary would be a disaster in November.

Does this poll factor in that a voter in a small states is only worth 3/5 of a voter in a large state?

Do any of our votes even matter ? I guess we really need a revolution. And instead of the lawyers, I suggest we go after the "reporters" first. They bear a lot of guilt for the mess we are in.
