CNN Poll: Bush Approval Has Dropped 40 Points Since Iraq Invasion

A new CNN poll shows that for the five-year anniversary of the invasion of Iraq, President Bush's approval rating is the lowest they've ever polled: 31% Approve, 67% Disapprove.

Looking back in history to the start of the Iraq War, Bush's approval stood at 71% in CNN's polling — meaning he's dropped 40 points as the war has dragged on interminably.

IOW...71% of Americans were flippin' morons in 2003 and 30% are still stupid after 5 years. I blame those people for reality TV.

Exactly who are the 31% of Americans that approve of his job performance, and what criteria are they using? This tells me that roughly one in three of my countrymen is a complete moron.

Ha ha! My 1 year old daughter helped me type the last bit there. She is so helpful.

No one could have anticipated that 5 years of war, the economy in the pits, Larry Craig, David Vitter, Mark Foley, Scooter Libby, Heckuva job, Brownie!, and the myriad other scandals of the Bush Administration would lead to approval ratings of 31%

No one.

And I echo the posters above: just who are those 31 percenters, anyway?

the 31% approval is far more interesting than the 67% disapproval.

who are these people? how do we get in touch with them?

Do not forget that Bush was at 71% approval as he was going to war.

On the Democratic side: Senator Obama spoke out against the War, despite the polls, and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton looked at those same polls and did not need to read the Intelligence Report before rubber stamping Bush's Iraq Lunacy.

Which one do you think really has crossed the Commander in Chief threshold.

Rubber Stamp Hillary, or Profile in Courage Obama!

Barack Obama was in the Illinois legislature when the Iraq vote was taken, not in the US Senate. Don't represent one as the other. It's easy to take stands like that when you don't have the responsibility.

and she took the stand on the Iraq war vote as well.

Profile in Courage Obama!

Too bad approval of CNN still remains high.

Nixon was at 26% when he resigned - so I figure that 1/4th to 1/3rd the country is stays loyal to the way they voted, no matter what. To paraphrase Steven Colbert, they think the same thing on Wednesday as they did on Monday, regardless of what happened on Tuesday.

Blackstar: who are these people? how do we get in touch with them?

You don't want to know and you definitely do not want to touch these folk.

Its Stephen, and he sooooo called McCain on going to Bob Jones university in that speech, so funny how he did end up going there.

31% still approve of GWB? WTF?! Do they have methane between their ears? His approval should be down to 10%.

gah!

Why 31 approval%?

28% "think Saddam Hussein was personally involved in the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks"

36% believe "...as a result of the United States' military action against Iraq... the United States is more safe from terrorism"

Reinforce that with social conservatives and those cushioned from the economy's troubles, and you've got your answer.

So you really need to know their level of educational attainment, their age, their gender and the area of thier residence. They are probably all ditto heads who watch Fox when not listening to Limbaugh. Grrrrrr.
