Uh-Ohhhh :P

Oh I think I just giggled.

the fat lady is beginning to warm up her voice...

the fat lady is approaching the mic

Ouch.
You want to time these announcements to drive a "setting a new course" narrative. But both have come on nights when Hillary lost even bigger than expected, and smack of desperation.

Question: White voters have been a key demographic for Hillary, and there are many white men in Ohio and Pennsylvania, two of her touchstone states. Will firing Henry result in a backlash among Hillary's prominent white endorsers?

(And yes, I'm mocking the reaction to Solis Doyle's departure.)

Has anyone seen Mark Penn?

He's still out pimping his book. $5 million well spent on Hillary's part.

I deeply apologize if anyone was offended by my remark.

user-pic

You're so suspended, dude.

user-pic

He was at a book signing in NYC yesterday (seriously). Way to keep and eye on the game Mark.

;-)

You can't fire a guy you are a cool $1 mil in debt to

why is HRC camp announcing this tonight? wouldnt it be prudent to hold off on this announce until a few days? Where there is smoke.....

user-pic

Maybe she was hoping it would only be a minor blip in the news today. Or maybe they were worried if they didn't announce it it would come out in the rumor mill.

Also, Chris Matthews has a female Hillary supporter on basically saying Hillary Needs to win TX, OH and PA. They're not too confident anymore

The fat lady is nowhere to singing yet. We have some work to do folks.

But she is backstage eating a nice meal.

Are we finally, officially seeing the dismantling of the Clinton campaign. I'm a skeptic by nature, but maybe...just maybe it's happening.

Yeah, but this guy was a caucus.

well, caucasian, anyway..

This isn't a big deal. It sounds like he was a Doyle aide, so his leaving was a formality as soon as PSD stepped down.

I say this as a very strong Obama supporter, by the way. Not trying to spin the thing.

Not sure why Team Clinton let the news leak right now, though. Apparently, he turned in his resignation yesterday. Again, it makes them look shakier than necessary.

user-pic

The wheels are coming off!

No amount of bloodletting is going to save that ship. The losses are going to keep coming. Next we have Hawaii and Wisconsin, once again he will be showing he can win in every corner of this country.

But yes, we can't start the victory celebration yet, we can't get complacent, there is still a lot of work to be done. We need to make sure we win big in every place we win, and we need to cut her leads in Ohio and Texas. If we keep our wins big, the Florida and Michigan crap won't matter anyway, because he'll be too far ahead to catch.

GOOOOBAMA!!

"The descamisados are those we are marching with now!"

"Don't cry for me, Argentina, for I am ordinary, unimportant, and undeserving of such attention..."

She actually chose the guy who managed Blair Hull's campaign, the main senatorial primary opponent of Barack in 2004, as one of her main advisers? That sums up the Clinton campaign pretty well if you ask me.

user-pic

Well, he was part of Kaine's big win in VA back in 05 (which is probably why he got the nod for HRC after his being part of the DSCC team that took the Senate in 06) but as we see in the results, the bus just went squish on him (no doubt when the saw the final internals but wanted to wait until VA polls closed to let it go public).

Running a general in VA in nothing like trying to win a primary in IL. Not even remotely close. Henry is a smart guy; he'll be fine.

It is probably wise to announce his departure during the reporting of the results of the Potomac primaries, rather than waiting until tomorrow.

It does seem, though, more and more that Clinton's campaign is sinking. Obama is winning in almost every demographic in VA.

I am, however, with cswartout. I will wait until it's a done deal to celebrate. It will be interesting to see if Clinton's Guiliani strategy is at all effective.

"High-flying, adored!"

"But in the end you could not deliver"

user-pic

Hahah.

Chuck Todd just said that Adding FL and MI wouldn't close the pledge delegate gap!

I know she's trying to send a message to her supporters and big donors that she's aware of the problem and is taking decisive action to deal with it. She clearly saved up a few firings for tonight for just that reason, in anticipation of a serious paddling.

But all they're really accomplishing is make themselves look like some panic-stricken totalitarian regime who's sole response to the sound of approaching enemy tanks is to denounce underlings as "traitors" dragging them outside and capping them.

And then his underlings leave, and their underlings leave...it will take a few weeks for the organization to get back on its feet again. Bad time to do a full retooling.

user-pic

Hillary looked exhausted on the evening news. Circles under her eyes. Looked like she was really dragging going up the steps to her plane.

This lady needs a break. I recommend a long vacation. Trip to Europe. Whatever it takes!

Hey you folks didn't get the memo:

VA, DC and MD don't matter.

Oh, and CO, WA, LA, ME don't matter either.

Too many blacks, men, educated, liberals, youth etc.

;-)

Zell wins.

We are witnessing a campaign in complete slow motion implosion.

If Senator Clinton wishes to maintain some dignity, she will take a day off and then drop out of the race.

We didn't get the memo....we got the obit.

MSNBC's drooling over Obama is getting ridiculous now, they are not even hiding it, lol, meanwhile CNN seems to be realizing that they backed the wrong horse, they are just flat tonight...

And Obama was endorsed by a senetor who supports immunity for the Tell-all-comms. That's all I need to know about the Obamanation.

I'd rather have a senator who doesn't vote on a key issue than one who votes to oppose immunity but happens to have supporters with, admittedly poor but, different views too.

user-pic

Are you serious?

LOL that is your push back, because Webb voted like an idiot today means Obama is evil?

How did Hillary vote on those bills today... oh yeah... opppps.

Webb hasn't endorsed. I assume CRL was referring to McCaskill.

user-pic

Gotcha.

Either way it is a stupid argument (even without pointing out how Feinstein voted to screw us on FISA as well and she long ago endorsed Clinton).

At least Jim Webb bothered to vote.

Anybody watching Hillary's speech right now?

Full on pander mode. "Yay Texas!" Actual quote: she's happy "to be part of the El Paso family Starting! Right! Now!"

No mention of current events yet.

$100 says she wont mention the primaries tonight

Well, you're at least correct up until the point that MSNBC decided to cut her off because she's not talking about it.

Now they're talking about how she's not talking about it. Olbermann asks Brokaw about "this strategy of not talking about things you don't want to talk about".

Hillary skipping the vote: Profile in courage.

It's time for Hillary to announce that she's going to spend more time with her family......

Wow, Chuck Todd on MSNBC just said after Wisconsin and Hawaii, Clinton will need to win 63% in OH, TX, and PA to surpass the Obama lead.

Hillary could not be bothered to show up for the Telecom vote. She spent the day in a TV studio doing remote interviews to local TV stations in Ohio and Texas.

She will get to that Fighting the Republican Dragons bit, after she tends to the really important stuff such as talking to talking heads about two primaries that are three weeks away.

She did manage to show up when Bush/Cheney/McCain/Lieberman/Kyl needed her vote on the Greenlight to attack Iran.

Mike Henry forced to drink the hemlock. Tired of drinking the kool-aid it was a welcomed change.

user-pic

I think it could be too early to write her off.

I remember "wheels coming" off and "stick a fork in it" comments about John McCain last summer when he was getting low on funds and had a big staff shake-up, etc.
The difference is that the primaries are happening right now. It's over when it's over - or when all the delegates are counted.
THEN we can have Super-Triumphalism about the Democratic win in November.

Agreed. Hillary is tough as all get out. Count her out at your peril. It ain't over 'til it's over.

IF Obama wins the nomination, what do you people think Hillary will do in the Senate? Will she just resign and go home? Finish out her term? Run for re-election in 2012?

It seems to me that her Senate career has been primarily a stepping stone to the White House.

SO at this point, all HIllary can do is tie up Obama and string this thing out to the convention? IF she wins OH, TX, and PA! Is that her goal now? Not very inspiring!

Hillary is too busy "celebrating" in Texas to give congratulations or concession speech, and also to vote down the FISA bill.

A real class act.

It's funny, the lack of basic manners, and the media seems to not have noticed. Even McCain and Huckabee have more grace than this.

Look, stop bashing Sen. Clinton!

She is awesome and she deserves a lot of credit.

But I would love her more if she would just step aside for the good of our party.

Go Big O!

The Hillary bashing/joshing will continue for the rest of the night, I'm guessing. Many of these jokes are just exaggerations of her own spin. We don't hate Hillary - we're just happy our guy did well.

And guess what, haters? This comment COUNTS cause I live in OHIO!!

Does Hillary cry the night before WI or wait until the night before TX?

user-pic

I think Hillary's campaign budget is pretty pinched. Months later, she still hasn't paid the Janitorial service her Iowa HQ used.

While she made a big deal out of here post super-Tuesday fund raising success, where'd that money come from? Most of her supporters had already given the $2,300 limit. If it came from the established pool, then most of it can't be used until the general election.

Her latest WI TV ad is trying to shame Obama into participating in a yet another debate, which gets for Clinton more TV time she can't afford to buy enough of.

The real thing, though, is that Clinton is in denial. She is sure it must be a problem with the campaign staff or strategy. It couldn't possibly be that most voters don't want her as POTUS.
