Rasmussen: Hillary's Ohio Advantage Shrinks To Five Points
A new Rasmussen poll shows the Ohio primary continuing to tighten. Here are the numbers, compared to last week's survey:
Clinton 48% (+0)
Obama 43% (+3)
Only two weeks ago, Hillary Clinton enjoyed a 51%-37% lead over Barack Obama, but now it's down to a five-point race. In comparison to other pollsters, Quinnipiac has Hillary ahead by 11, the University of Cincinnati has her ahead by 8, PPP (D) by 4, and ARG by 10.
Ohio Dems view Obama as a NAFTA opponent by a 53%-14% margin, while 35% think Hillary is in favor of it, 31% say she's opposed, and the remaining 34% aren't sure. In a state where NAFTA is opposed by most voters, this would seem to suggest that Obama's attacks against Hillary over the issue have helped him chip away at her lead.

Hm, Ohio seems to be taking a bit longer than I might have expected to switch to the Obama camp. Good news, this, nonetheless. Here's hoping that the trend keeps up and Obama takes OH a week from today.

Ah you beat me to it. That was exactly what I was thinking. Oh well, my next best one would be "meet me in Denver."

Frankly, he doesn't have to win Ohio, just keep the pledged delegate count close. This is all around good news out of Ohio and Texas. That being said, he should continue to campaign like he's 15 points down in both states.
Btw, is he going to hit Rhode Island before next Tuesday?

Well, I hear Canada has some fantastic firewalls, and the Eskimos break even more heavily for Clinton than anay other demographic...

No, Obama does need to win Ohio. Because this thing needs to come to an end, now. There should be no room left for Clinton to spin or wiggle her way out. She loses both Ohio and Texas, I don't think the party will let her keep going.

I agree to a point, but do you honestly think Hillary will keep campaigning if she loses Texas and is a narrow winner in Ohio?

I do not. She loses either one and it's over.

I notice that Chelsea is saying that Texas is a must win for her mom, which suggests to me that the Clinton campaign is not preparing to switch gears and insist that Texas never really mattered. On the other hand, I also interepreted Sen Clinton's last debate performance to indicate that she was going to keep everything on the up-and-up, and obviously I was wrong about that, so maybe I am simply misreading this statement.

In a similar vein, I notice that Marc Ambinder is claiming (and do not ask me how he knows this, because I have no idea, so take it with a grain of salt) that Clinton's

Idiotic, I really never am going to get tired of that.
SCM, I hate to say this, but yesterday it seemed like the HRC campaign was saying TX was a red state and therefore--didn't count.

I am originally from Ohio. And while I could go into a detailed analysis of how Barack Obama could win the state by employing an approach that taps into the unique rust belt mentality that is the land of my birth, I think I have an approach that is more succinct and, in the long term, more successful than any revamped stump speech or newly minted populist five-point plan. And that is this:
Barack Obama needs to stand on the stage with a large microphone and tell the world in a strong and steady voice that he knows for a fact that Bo Schembechler was the motherf*cking anti-christ himself.
Landslide.

Genius. Bonus if, when questioned about the MI delegate situation, starts singing, "I don't give a damn for the whole state of Michigan..."

No way. Obama is clearly too intelligent a man to throw his support to the Buckeyes, even for so great a prize as the presidency. The man has class, and that means that he is as good as an honorary wolverine.
(Remember, Obama campaign, that if you wish to capitalize on the second-coming-of-JFK meme in the GE, there is no better way to do it than to stop in Ann Arbor on your way to the convention and make a big policy speech on the steps of the Michigan student union building. Do you really want the crowds to boo you when you do that?)

You are so right. Even though Bo was from Ohio. We aren't sitting Michigan delegates anyway so what does he have to lose.
Go Bucks!

DEMOCRATS EAT THEIR YOUNG....
After the years of service Hillary has given to working for the democratic cause, a new younger guy comes along, and they abandon her.
It is her time but there is no loyalty in the democratic party.
At least the republicans do not treat each other this way..
Just one more reason that If Obama is nominee, I will vote McCain.
