AP/Ipsos: Obama Takes Three-Point Lead Over Hillary

A new AP/Ipsos poll released last night gives Barack Obama a three-point national lead over Hillary Clinton. While it's not as big a lead as the Gallup and CBS/New York Times polls that put him up by double digits, all the polls are nevertheless showing clear momentum in Obama's favor.

Here are the numbers, compared to the last poll from about two weeks ago:

Obama 46% (+5)
Clinton 43% (-3)

And for the general election match-ups:

Clinton (D) 46%, McCain (R) 41%
Obama (D) 48%, McCain (R) 39%

Chelsea Clinton, in the "Chelsea Clinton says we have to take Texas" article linked to on the front page:

I don't think you should vote for or against my mother because of my father
Huh?

Am I wrong that a huge portion of Senator Clinton's campaign has been based on President Clinton?

The whole "experience" argument, that only works if you count "I was First Lady not just of the United States, but also First Lady of Arkansas"?

"It took a Clinton to clean up after the first Bush, it'll take another to clean up after the second"?

When she's always talking about returning to the great world of the 1990s?

When she constantly refers to President Clinton's policy decisions and actions using "we" instead of "he"?

Chelsea: "I don't think you should vote for or against my mother because of my father."

"You should vote for my Mom because she's really cool and fun. Sometimes she does totally crazy things, like telling our chef to make pancakes in the shape of animals and stuff. And one time, this was really fun and crazy, she told the chauffeur to go through the drive-through at Taco Bell and we all bought these things that were sort of like crepes, but they had smashed-up hamburger inside."

No mercy. This needs to be a landslide. Work, work work. She needs to go down and we need to get our guns cleaned and our ammo ready for McCain.

There should be no barely winning these elections. There has to be landslides.

Right on M. Miller. "Sweep the Leg!! No Mercy!! Put him in a body bag, Johnny!!"

On one hand, now this poll makes more sense than the other polls. On the other hand, national polls are meaningless. It's all about the states. By the way, Obama trouncing mccain in swing states, like iowa, is a very good thing. After trashing iowa, the clintons wouldn't win iowa in a million years. That is a critical issue.
