Rudy's Own Supporters Notice His Collapse

Rudy Giuliani's poor performance in the primaries so far — in three major contests, he's only beaten Ron Paul once — is starting to be noticed by his own backers back home in New York. In fact, the New York Times reports that some of them are starting to doubt that Rudy will even win his home state's primary.

"If he carries Florida, he carries New York," said Fred Siegel, a Cooper Union historian and former Rudy adviser/biographer. But as for that Florida win, Siegel said, "I wouldn't bet on it."

Are they just now realizing that his strategy this whole time has been the political equivalent of a Hail Mary?

The Giuliani Implosion

The The Weekly Standard which is the Neocon bible has already thrown Giuliani under the bus, telling their readers not to waste their effort or money on him in their latest editorial.

From a GOP perspective, Giuliani is like a 50's movie where the undead zombie continue to terrorize small towns, chase citizens, and cause babies to cry.

I'm wondering what the long-term damage to his reputation will be after FL?

But the argument that Rudy could run in all 50 states is in sharp contrast to the actual votes count, which has him trailing Ron Paul in total votes to date, and that is a HUGE failure, one that the Weekly Standard acknowledges.

When the Weekly Standard tossed Rudy under the Bus, his 'retirement vote' from NY collapsed.
