Rudy Ad: He'll Give Us The Biggest Tax Cut Ever
Rudy has a new ad out running on Fox News — where it premiered during a break in last night's debate — and in Florida, where he's making a push as part of his big-state strategy. In the ad, Rudy promises historic tax cuts:
"On his first day in office," the announcer promises, "Rudy Giuliani will send Congress the largest tax cut in American history."

Tax cuts, tax cuts, tax cuts. Isn't this all just empty rhetoric when there are a ton of tax cuts already out there that middle-class Americans don't even take advantage of. Its like passing a law and not enforcing it.
Green tax credits broken down...

Yeah I agree, I looked at the expiring $500 credit to homeowners on 12/31/07 for insulating, and wondered why there wasn't a larger credit to cover 'contactor installed' insulation over a 5 year plan?
I climbed into an attic in January 08 and laid down a second set of Batts, and realistically you should not consider doing that if you are older and living in an older home, and that target cut could go to pensioners.
I also wonder why there was no US companies in the large kilo-turbine sector? If there needs to be a tax-abatement then allow it for that targeted industry.
And I also don't think that Fred's, Rudy's, Paul's, and possibly Mit's campaigns even have a clue as to energy policy and was left wondering if glib comments could suffice for one?
I was impressed with McCain's response and mention of global warming, that at least signalled to me a reality based acknowledgement and a political will.
I liked Huckabee's handling of the faith based atack, I'm considering those two in that order.
But really.. would like to vote for Arnold Schwarzenegger as I think that he has been the best advocate nationally for a sound energy policy, like Whitmann fom NJ, and other 'common sense' Republicans, will be interesting to watch the SC primary which on the ground is a brutal primary.

Trade gap widens on surge in oil imports
Real exports fall for second straight month in November
I was NOT impressed with FAUX new's grasp of economics! Their debate clearly avoided the crucial two issues, energy and healthcare, which plague our economy.
Rudy ought to be slapped for being that confident about his total lack of any real understanding of economics or policy.

I really don't think that tax cut BS is going to fly with anybody but the most selfish and self-absorbed of GOP voters. Everyone is well aware by now that the nation is deeply in hock to the Chinese, and that without spending cuts, more tax cuts are just plain irresponsible and empty pandering in place of real policies.

I want more government not less.
I want a properly funded government.
Promising the 29%ers that mindlessly support the top 1-1/2%ers that they can keep the money that they do not have does not impress me.
Guiiani is offically bankrupt of any useful ideas.
