Report: Rudy Dropping In Florida Despite Sinking Big Money Into The State
It's bad enough that Rudy struggling in Florida, the state that represents his last hopes. Making matters worse still, it turns out this is happening despite the fact that he's sinking tons of cash into the state.
Check out this little nugget buried in the New York Daily News:
Giuliani's Florida decline comes as he has flooded the state with money and resources -- including having 50 paid staffers in four state offices and spending more than $1 million on advertising since Christmas. At this point, sources said, he is spending about $350,000 a day on TV ads, a pace that would leave him essentially broke after Florida's Jan. 29 primary.
Ooof. That's a healthy sum for Florida advertising -- yet despite that, Rudy is showing up in third or fourth place in most polls.
That Rudy might essentially be broke after Florida leaves little doubt what his next move would be should he lose by a sizable margin -- drop out of the race. Worse, the campaign is making no efforts to deny that this might happen. Asked if he'd drop out upon losing, Rudy's top strategist said: "I don't know. I mean, that's going to be Rudy's decision."
Ooof.

Rudy, Bill, and G.Bush
all have outsized egos
and thats all they care about

Again, TPM. Way to keep hope alive! Your efforts helped to sink the most dangerous GOP candidate in the field --> Giuliani.
Getting kind of giddy, actually.. Maybe I shouldn't count my chickens first?

Well, if he's spending $350,000 per day, then of course he's spent over $1,000,000 since Christmas. Wierd math.

The Dems at the next debate should ask that any republican candidate who supports George Bush and his republican policies,
should wear a
white ribbon
on their lapel
at the following republican debate.
The MSM WOULD GO ABSOLUTELY APESHIT
in anticipation.

Why is he spending so much money on TV ads? Seem's kind of crazy. He'd be better off investing in GOTV, spreading around "walking around money".

I guess ole Rudy will spend the rest of his life getting even. That he was considered a front runner shows the decline and fall of the Republican Party.

Nugget, you're right. It's not like it's Green Bay weather.

Rudy's problem is that the more people get to know him the less they like him. If he'd stop spending and shut up he might have a chance.

As he collapses, where does his support (such that it is) go?
Does it break mainly for McNugget or Romulan as far as the corporate/establishment GOP candidate?
Does Grandpa's whimper out of the race move anything towards Heart Huckabee or does that go to another candidates or across the board (bored?) boost (in a very depressed field)...?

in case no one has seen it, rasmussen has a different FL poll than the one you're showing at:
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/florida/election_2008_florida_republican_primary
in it, romney leads with 25%, with mccain second at 20% and ghouliani at 19%.

Again, moron David Frum can be partially congratulated for his handling of Rudy's Total War Platform, and it's very refreshing demise, but that won't affect him showing up on TV and being called a "Respected Conservative Figure "...
Nothing can ruin these fools, not even themselves.

The answer is simple, the more you know Rudy, the more you hate him

The truth is revealed.
Finally, this time Rudy won't be able to rise form the bullshit of his own ashes.
I ask everyone to please forgive me for giving my once-good name and blind loyalty to this con man.

Rudy is all about PR.
When the previous NYC mayor's and Bratton's anti-crime programs started to succeed, Rudy did the right PR and got himself the credit.
When he has screwed up in almost every way imaginable regarding terrorism--love nest "command center" in the known-target WTC, firemen with inadequate radios due to Rudy sweetheart deal, the list goes on--he used PR to become a phony "hero" following 9/11.
When it was time to legally leave office, he tried to stay on with a big PR push.
Rudy's made a career and a small fortune with PR, but the more folks get to know him, the more they realize he's a real loser.

I just hope he avoids an ackward withdrawal speech, the Freepers are mourning as it is, and he is polling less than Ron Paul there, and they had to remove Paul from the poll.
I just hope he avoids embarrasing himself and the GOP with some bizzare comment, I hope somebody Sr. on his staff is working on a graceful speech that acknowledges reality.

it couldn't happen to a more deserving guy. The Republican candidates are truly grotesque; but even in this group Giuliani is truly evil. An awful nasty vicious little power-hungry turd. I know. I shouldn't be this emotional. Rudy just brings out the best in people.

Graceful speech? That acknowledges reality? You must be kidding. Rudy will blame his entire fiasco of a campaign on something else. Certainly not himself.
Most likely it will be the fault of the "strategy" as though it was foisted on him. He'll say he's a perfectly good candidate and would make a great President but he just couldn't get his message across since he waited so long to compete.

Rudy,
Are you all right, baby. You've been running to the bathroom a lot today. There's some air freshener in the cabinet.
Listen, my raging bull, 2012 is only four years away. No one wins the first time around.
Too bad you won't be able to pardon Bernie. Don't worry, he'll cop a plea now. Maybe you can be commissioner of baseball. So what if Andrew and Caroline don't call to console you.
I'm all yours, baby, all the time.
Rudy?.... Rudy?

I am not sure, but I suspect I may be one of those last who think Mitt is the hardest for Dems to beat. A McCain win, and a strong Rudy showing is necessary for Dems to take over Whitehouse next yeat. A Romney win will likely mean Clinton/Obama are for rude awakening.

I agree that Romney is their best hope in the general........its a long way to their convention and I believe mitt will be the last man standing after that , if not even before then........but he will be beaten by whomever the demos choose.........the bush enablers days have passed and the country needs change.....mitt offers more of the same . Imagine Hillary , edwards or Obama debating mitt or any of them , it won't be pretty....

Florida will be the first time registered Republicans will vote for a Republican candidate.
Flood advisories are/will be in effect, after the Liberal tear storm wrecks havoc with currently high and dry regions. When results from the election are in.
Rudy in a walk.

Giuliani's drop in the polls nationally, and his diminishing odds locally in Florida are akin to the sound of a bullet intended for your head whizzing instead by your ear. A great big sound of relief. Nationally, people never got a chance to know Rudy like we New Yorkers did. If it wasn't for his pitch-perfect performance on September 11th, he would have faded away the unpopular mayor he was at the end of his term. Why do you think his poll numbers trail McCain in New York? We KNOW the guy, and he's a petty, small thinker. Has anyone really listened to him on the campaign trail? It's amazing how... insubstantial he sounds. Like he's faking it. Biden nailed him with the famous quote about the only things out of his mouth are a noun, a verb and 9/11, and that really is the truth. Sad. No, not sad. Scary and revolting. Good riddance. May he feel humiliation equal to the actual humiliation he is being handed by those who listen to him and decide he, um, sucks.

hastingspete has it right , people nationwide have rooty pegged now..........one thing troubles me though.......this is not meant to be a personal attack on anyone but how ?.....in the world , can a logical thinking and reasoning person believe rooty would be good for this country ? The only reason I can come up with is that these folks who think that way are the same ones who are hiding under the bed because of "islamofacism " . what terrorizes me the most is that they think rooty could somehow protect them .....no , it won't be "Rudy in a walk "..........rooty will slink back to New York......and likely , none the wiser for the experience........

I'll bet Rudy still wishes he had some of that Ron Paul money. Didn't he just raise another $2 million a day or two ago?
Rumour has is it that the NH recount put him in third, not fifth...and word is that
he just walked away with the LA primary for his first "gold" as mitt would say.
But of course there's no verification because of the MSM blackout on his campaign.
Don't you just love this circus?

Folks ... it won't be over until Florida (and or California). In fact (stay with me here peeps) it will have just begun. You've beens sold a worthless bill of goods by CNN, AP, NYT's, WaPo, Reuters and all the other soykle-joikers. Marching roun' together (with pud in hand), under the (now) visible (and proudly unfurled) fifth column banner.
Puhleeze gits yo minds together for some other excuse [why your angel of hope didn't win (fraudulent voting machines?)]. At the very least, give us a new meme to be bored with. Preety Please (wit shoegah on top).
Be strong Judi, tis only the left, doing what they do best [a whole lotta nada (or as they likely see it/with holy self exaltation ... performance art /nihilism)].
