Poll: Rudy Has Lost His National Lead
The new NBC/Wall St. Journal poll appears to show that Rudy Giuliani's national lead has evaporated. Rudy is tied with Mitt Romney at 20% each, followed by Mike Huckabee at 17%, John McCain with 14%, and Fred Thompson at 11%. A month ago, Rudy had 33%, McCain 16%, Thompson 15%, Romney 11%, and Huckabee 8%.
Hillary Clinton continues to have a big national lead on the Democratic side: Hillary 45%, Barack Obama 23%, and John Edwards 13%. There have been no significant changes since last month.

What does Rudy do when his campaign implodes? Runs into the hospital, just like in 2000, when Hillary was beating him so badly for NY Senate that he preferred losing his prostate to losing the election. What I can't understand is why it took so long for the rest of the country to figure out what NYC's known for decades. Rudy's a nasty piece of work. He'll be happier milking his "security consultant" gig.

He could be a jr. high school assistant principal, couldn't he? He certainly looks the part, and bears the requisite demeanor. Yes, truly nasty. I am a New Yorker who has loathed this pig for years, and I am enjoying this moment of schadenfreude at his expense.

After losing his national lead, Rudy's ego deflated. His ego has been checked into a hospital for an emergency infusion of hot air. Doctors remain pessimistic and say his long-term prospects are grim. According the hospital spokes person, "Only a resurgence in Florida can save him now."

Intersting point Eli. This mystery illness is oddly reminiscent of Rudy's oh-s--convenient bout with "cancer" during the 2000 Senate election just around the time he was being trounced.
Rudy has always reminded of that line from Billy Joel's song "She's Always a Woman."
"She never gives in and she never gives up, she just changes her mind."
Ah Rudy, we hardly knew ye....bub bye...

Watch it gcs, you'll be accused of "meanspiritedness". If I were of a schadenfreudish bent, I might suggest that Rudy lost his prostate in 2000 and he'd better quit now, while he's still got gonads.

Mark my words Eli. If Rudy loses the nomination, he loses Judith too. I'd put money on it.

No bet, gcs. I know a sucker bet when I hear it. You think Rudy cares? Plenty of goomahs out there who'd go for a bigshot like Rudy. He won't be sleeping alone. Or do you think those phone calls during his speeches mean this marriage is the real thing, unlike his first two? I wonder if he made her sign a prenup. How many trophy wives can one man collect?

He was laughing about in on one of the Sunday yack shows. "The doctors say I'm 100 percent. Heh heh heh."
HBO bio of Rudy's guy Ed Norris:
"A veteran of the homicide unit, Norris prides himself on his New York origins, secretly maintaining a love of the New York Yankees that would see him ostracized in the Baltimore unit were it common knowledge. His brother, a deputy commissioner in the NYPD, was a rising star until taking a position with a police department in a southern state and running afoul of local customs and politics. Norris spends his evenings listening to a great deal of talk radio."
Afoul of local customs and politics. Hmmm.
