Paul Heads Bring In Over $6 Million

Ron Paul's supporters were able to break their previous one-day record yesterday, raising over $6 million in one day. Yesterday's "moneybomb" fundraiser, held in honor of the Boston Tea Party, outdid their previous Guy Fawkes Day fundraiser by nearly half. The number roughly ties Barack Obama's personal best of $6 million in one day, and is just barely behind Hillary Clinton's $6.2 million record — and way outpaces the rest of the GOP field.

These are not pledges, or lists of cash donations to be delivered later — they are actual credit card receipts, according to the official campaign. And all of this means that Paul will have the money to spread his message in New Hampshire and South Carolina, and possibly even elsewhere, and potentially cause some real havoc for the GOP with his anti-war platform.

So, if this guy actually pulls a percentage of the vote in the primary, who will he hurt the most?

Also, any idea if he would go third party in the general? That would be a lovely dream.

"Paul Heads", eh? Does this mean that the next post about Hillary supporters will call them "Hillary Heads"?

What was that old saying? Ah yes, "A fool and his money are soon parted."

None of his ads have ever mentioned his anti-war sentiments, or at least none of the ones that I've seen in NH lately.

They also look like they were made by third graders, so it makes you wonder how well they are spending all that money.

As a long time reader of TPM, I'm surprised that more TPM readers who love to rake the muck would not take to liking Ron Paul as I have. I don't agree with many of his positions. However, I believe he is a man who will do what the 2006 Democrats promised to do but have backpedalled on since coming to office. In my mind, the democrats promised to clean house. Now it looks like winks and nods all around. Well, at least there is plenty of muck to rake on both sides of the aisle now.

It's not really $6 million in one day, it's $6 million on one day. Or more precisely, the money was actualy raised over a period of many weeks, in a campaign to have it all donated in a single day.

so Anonymous, if the ads were more expensive and slick, that would make you think he was a more viable candidate? You need the razzle dazzle and can't seem to comprehend the message for it's own value (which in 1776 was much higher than it is now)? No matter that maybe the savings in slickness can help purchase greater coverage for the message.

What is imortant is standing up for the Constitutional message.
As the bumper sticker goes..."Think...It's Patriotic".
