Hillary: “If you're ready for change… she's ready to lead!”

Obama: “If you're ready for change… he's reckless and dangerous!”

Edwards: “If you're ready for change… he's angry as hell!”

So what executive authority was she going to use to stop foreclosures and alter the terms of mortgage loans? It seems like a stretch to say that the White House can just rewrite existing legal agreements with the stroke of a pen.

Actually you are correct annon and you have a constitutional problem with that as well. The constitution prohibits the government from revising existing contracts. I don't have the actual provision at my fingertips, but it is prohibited in the constitution.

"When we choose a president next year, let's choose one that would have started fixing our economy, this year."

Dovetails rather nicely with her "Time to Choose a President," closing theme for the IA and NH primary campaigns. Nice two-fer.

She does look good. Thanks for pointing it out. She's already trending upwards. I suspect Axlerod's gaffe will be the nail in the coffin.

Questions: Why wasn't she ready to lead in October of 2002, when it really mattered? Was she at night school, or taking lessons on how to lead? Where was she when the nation was being sold a bill of goods on invading a sovereign country and killing hundreds and hundreds of thousands of americans and iraqis? Where was she out to lunch or on vacation? Why is she ready to lead now and she didn't do squat when it really, really mattered? Where is her leadership in the senate? What has she lead on? Why the transformation from sheep and follower in the senate to this vigorous leader? Very strange.

BluePuppy wrote on December 28, 2007 4:51 PM:

She was in the Senate, voting like John Kerry, John Edwards, along with 23 other Democrats....not in the Illionis state senate. Where was Obama when he could have proposed universal health care?

I guess it's the old Bush tactic of repeating a lie over so many times that people either start believing it or get tired of refuting it.

Even the MSM, no friend of Clinton's, seems to take her "leadership" and "experience" for granted.

For the record, Hillary Clinton has never led. On anything.

This is absurd. What has Barack led on that is anymore substantial than Hillary?

Hillary is the one running on her record. You Hillary supporters are pathetic.

In thread after thread, I've asked her supporters to document her vastly overstated qualifications. When you reply at all, you point to her sitting on the boards of charitable organizations or governmental commissions; what was truly hilarious was that post in HuffPo listing all the people she's talked to and the speeches she's made as evidence of her foreign policy experience.

Of course, none of you have ever pointed to legislation she's passed or policies she's spearheaded that have led to positive changes in the lives of ordinary Americans. That's because there are none to point to. Her "strength" and "experience," the centerpiece of her argument for her election, are illusory, merely rhetorical in nature and totally without substance.

A more response form Hillary supporters are in the fashion of BluePuppy at 5:04 above; i.e. with charges that Obama isn't any more experienced. Obama might agree with that statement. However, his candidacy is based on the fact that the current dynamic in Washington is not serving the American public, and that fresh perspectives and approaches to policymaking are needed to change this dynamic.

You can disagree with that argument if you wish; what you cannot dispute is that Hillary's actual results in her "35 years of government service" are pretty thin for someone making the claim of being the candidate with the most impressive resume.

Pre-emptive stike - definition

Only when we KNOW we (or our allies) are about to be attacked.

George W. Bush, GOP and Hillary's definition: If we used their way of thinking we would have had a WWIII with the Soviet Union. They had WMD and they were pointed at US.

Brewmn, that is an excellent post. I have been trying to say that for months and it has never came out as good as your post. Excellent.
