New Attack Flier: Huckabee Isn't A Conservative — Or A Christian!
Mike Huckabee's surge in Iowa isn't going unnoticed — nor is it going unopposed. A new group with the rather interesting name, "Iowans for Some Semblance of Christian Decency," are distributing a flier attacking Huckabee not only on the basis that he isn't a real conservative, but that the former Baptist minister isn't a real Christian, either.
Among their complaints is that his coddling of illegal immigrants amounts to a violation of the 8th Commandment — that is, he's allowing illegals to steal from American taxpayers. Huckabee's past statements in praise of America's religious tolerance and diversity are also called into question, saying that such talk is "a tool to undermine Biblical Christianity."
In a possible taste of attacks to come, the flier is also one of the first attacks against Huckabee over the Wayne Dumond case, when a convicted rapist was paroled in Arkansas thanks to Huckabee's help, and then committed rape and murder in Missouri.
Obviously, it's Romney. No other candidate's supporters have any reason to attack Huckabee in Iowa. In fact, the others want Huckabee to win Iowa.
Manages to be both wholly wrongheaded and very dirty at the same time.

The fundementalist Ten Commandment fetish never fails to amaze me. If you're emphasizing the Jewish part of "Judeo-Christian," it's about 600 commandments two few and if you're emphasizing the "Christian" part, its about eight too many.
How a Cecil B. DeMille movie became the basis for of a lot of Americans' religious dogma is fodder for a lot of dissertations in a lot of different disciplines.

To be fair (or unfair, maybe) it is about as easy to prove that you are a Christian as that you aren't a Communist. Whatever you do or say, it could be a trick to fool everyone.
Totally agree about the Big Ten C's though. Maybe the Articles of Confederation were pretty cool too, but I don't hear anyone suggesting we run our government in accordance with them. No. Longer. Operative.

That thing where they claim they are the cornerston of modern law, while being utterly ahistorical, is also kind of problematic given that only three out of the ten are actually illegal in most states.

The Wayne Dumond attacks are, I think, legit. That whole episode showed very bad judgment on Huckabee's part, and it's proper to expect him to answer for it.
So does a big hunk of the right, which made defending Dumond a cause because Dumond's victim was a relative of Bill Clinton, and anyone who attacks a Clinton can't be all bad, right?

Did Dumond commit rape and murder, or just murder, after his parole? Not that this necessarily rules out rape, but he had been castrated before he went to prison. I didn't find anything about another rape in a quick google search.

Huckabee was trying to help children,
wether they be hispanic or not. How can anyone say that's not being a christian. What has been stolen in this country is ONE NATION UNDER GOD..we need more folks like Bro. Mike to lead this country to get us back on track what our founding forefathers set out to do. God gave us liberty...people who reject God loose their freedom.

So violating a Constitutional ammendment is proof he's not a Christian? Wouldn't a better argument be he's violating some Biblical proscription? Maybe the one where Jesus said to kill all the immigrants.

Huckabee’s surge is simply created by the media. The media wants another neocon on office at any cost so they have latched onto Huckabee. The former Arkansas gov.is just another smooth talking hukster that panders to the sheeple (people + sheep = sheeple). He is not a a true conservative and never will be. Huckabee allowed illegas to flood his state and just look at his tax record in Arkansas. The only true conservative and real Republican is Ron Paul. I discovered him via the first Republican debate. Paul is for border security and against amnesty for illegals and he has never voted for a tax increase, voted against the war, never voted for an unbalanced budget, never voted to raise congressional pay, never taken a government-paid junket, never voted to increase the power of the executive branch, and has not participated in the congressional pension program.

Oh, this is just too funny!!! By "coddling" illegals he breaks the 8th Commandment by stealing from tax payers. That's just too much. I'm all for Jesus! You know, the illegal immigrant who hid out in Egypt (according to Matthew's account). Or then there's Ruth, surely Naomi was one of those Coyote's smuggling illegals into the country -- but then she married a citizen, surely that made a difference. Yeah Mike's not a Christian! And who is?
