John Edwards' Closing Ads: Fight Corporate Greed
John Edwards has a pair of new ads for the home stretch in Iowa, laying out his closing argument: That he is the populist candidate who will fight corporate greed and change America — but first, Iowans have to get the ball rolling.
The first ad features Edwards giving his fiery speech to a crowd of supporters:
The other one has Edwards seated and speaking calmly to the camera, but delivering the same substance:

You know, I SHOULD like John Edwards. I am a middle aged liberal white guy originally from South Carolina, his home turf. But for the longest time i've been trying to figure out why he just does not work for me. I realized that these two ads sum it up. He gives iowa his "final pitch" and it's about "Corporate Greed"? Are you kidding me? Is he even living in the same country as me right now? Are you telling me THAT is my biggest FU***** problem right now? I mean seriously, what percentage of the country would say the biggest problem in the US right now is corporate greed? I just don't get this guy, and hopefully HRC and Obama beat him in Iowa so we don't have to listen to him anymore.

No, my friend, it was Corporate Greed, America's insatiable need for Oil (and market "stability") And Bush and Cheney (Mr. Halliburton) were planning for a War on Iraq as soon as they got into office, well before 9/11 (Cheney's Energy Task Force was all about divvying up Iraq's oil fields.)
John Edwards for President.
Brian Long wrote on December 28, 2007 1:02 AM:The single biggest problem in America is the multi-national corporations. They are destroying democracy in America and around the world. We have been accelerating down that slippery slope to fascism that started back in 1980 with Regan but it is getting much worse.
We are working more hours for lower wages and benefits (hurting families in the process), are losing our economic security, at the same time that the wealthiest 1%'s total wealth is exploding and CEOs continue to get 20-60% raises a year and deferred compensation packages...
Edwards is absolutely on target, and that is why the press continues to try to destroy him or ignore him completely...
Edwards for President!
If it's Obama he *may* get my vote.
If it's Hillary I am voting Green (and no I did *NOT* vote for Nader in 2000)
Think about it-Halliburton and other companies have gamed the system such that they make money on nearly every angle. Worse than the mythical hydra, the corporation is a finely tuned and evolved legal device which can be used to enforce misery and poverty and justify any crime.
Marco Polo wrote on December 28, 2007 9:29 AM:One aspect where corporate greed is ever more increasing in the last few years, is in the corporate lobbying that goes on in Washington. Most of these "interests" are "not the peoples interest". There is not question that corporate money flows to both parties. I think it is time for the people to say "enough is enough". Start voting for John Edwards, and vote out any politician, regardless of party, who does not work for US (the people).
