Hillary's Mom Hits The Airwaves In New Iowa Ad
Who needs Oprah when you've got a mom to campaign for you? Hillary -- or, more accurately, her mother Dorothy -- goes up on the air in this new Iowa ad:

I don't think America is ready to elect the first Muslim president. It is not the time for that right now. What is very clear, though, is that America has been more than ready to elect the first woman president. Now is the time to finally get over that hump and do what's right. Let's make our grandmothers and our granddaughters proud to be an American.

I will be interested to see how this ad plays. To me it is a bit odd, in terms of the things that her mom is praising. It seems like she is just trying too hard, but I have my own biases that make it hard for me to tell.

@ In your heart
Will you shut up about the Muslim crap? Seriously, every post you make starts with the same line. At first I thought it was sarcasm, but obviously you really are that ignorant. If you want to spout baseless propaganda like that why don't you just go vote for a Republican.
Oh wait, you are apparently already doing that.

Awe, that was cute. She's a feisty one for, what, 80? I think that's what someone said.

Actually, she's 88. Looking pretty good.
By the way, "In your heart," you are clearly conducting a pretty deliberate smear campaign by spreading misinformation about Obama's religion. You're trying to post this everywhere in hopes that some people are influence by it.
I really hope TPM finds a way to ban you.

"In-your-heart" is likely a right-wing troll. Try ignoring it. Maybe it will go away.

By sargent is really low and tasteless given that Obama's mother is deceased.

Dan,
Did you hear that Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, and of course, Tom Tancredo are all secretly Muslims? It's on the internets (as of now) so it has to be true.

savvy,
Thanks, I also was thinking of Obama's mother, who died worrying about health care expenses, and in her fifties.
We can only guess about what Obama's mom would be thinking right now......but that she raised such an outstanding person says a lot about how wonderful she was as a mother.
That doesn't mean Hillary's mom isn't also very admirable and wonderful.

I've watched all of the Hillary haters smear her with false accusations for months; but when someone points out that Barack Hussein Obama may be a closet Muslim, the Hillary haters pee in their pants.

In your heart - Obviously you don't understand that national polls don't actually mean anything. In the states where the candidates are actively campaigning, HRC isn't doing nearly that well.

Whoa! The well-oiled Clinton Political Machine takes a big swing...and bunts again.

Either a Republitroll trying to do the same doublereverse smear with a twist that Moonie Magazine went for when it first started peddling this trash or some 12 year old boy (or the emotional equivilent) just trolling for the sake of trolling.
Either way, if you feed it it will stick around.

I just can't look at this stuff the same way anymore. In context, this just comes across as "SEE, she's not a robot, she has a mother, what's not to like?"
Plenty. Number one is that she's a passive agressive attack dog. I read a response on another site I totally agree with. It's not Obama's drug use that the Clinton people attacked - it's his candor. Even though they've retracted the attack, that choice of emphasis tells you something about their political instincts. When you make mistakes, don't admit them. If there's something embarrassing in your past, deny and obfuscate.
That so plays into the common conception of the "definition of is" twins. Didn't have "sexual relations" with that woman, didn't inhale, didn't vote for Iraq... It isn't playing anymore folks.

I'm surprised to see such palpable fear of Clinton's mom. She struck me as a nice lady. Not at all fearsome.

Senator Clinton's mom does seem nice. I have a feeling, however, that Iowa moms will understand that an endorsement from your mom is not exactly unbiased.

My Mom thinks I'd make a great president, too. Moms make all kinds of mistakes cause they love their kids.

Well, my mom is certainly right in thinking I'd be a great president.

It's been said, that if you want to know what a woman's going to look like, look at her mom. I rest my case. Thanks for the Courrier & Ives moment. Besides, in your heart, you know I'm right: http://theseedsof9-11.com
